Outstanding food, service and wine. Faultless.
Wonderful food and such great people - a really lovely occasion. Thank you
Enjoyable meal, great food and wine with service to match. The head chef clearly has the knowledge and tools/personnel to take the restaurant wherever she wants. Would happily go again....thanks for a great meal.
Excellent food, excellent service, very welcoming. We will be back
Very good dinner but somewhat expensive and over-priced if having the tasting menu with the wine option
Excellent restaurant that was much needed in Dartmouth
Fabulous our 2nd year and improving yearly. Well done team Jackie Smith.
Excellent meal. Welcoming and attentive staff. Thankyou
Amazing wine.. not enough on plate to warrant the price, but very good though
The tasting menu was sublime and the paired wines, generously served, really added to the experience. One of the best meals we’ve had for a long time surpassing an excellent January visit to the Seahorse.
The lady (sounded French but sadly I did not get her name) who welcomed us and served us was absolutely outstanding. Incredibly engaged, charming and attentive throughout the evening. We bumped into her in town the following morning and she remembered us and stopped to chat. She was incredibly personable and clearly is an asset to the restaurant. Ellie was in the kitchen but despite the fact there were only 6 people eating, failed to acknowledge any of the tables - that would have been a nice touch. She did leave the kitchen but didn’t move amongst the tables as you would expect on such a quiet evening. There was no atmosphere at all, the place was virtually empty on a Friday night and was therefore lifeless. The bill for 2 for 2 courses, a bottle of red and 1 cocktail came to £170 which was not reflective of the cooking. I came away feeling underwhelmed. The Seahorse next door remains far better value! The quality of the cooking was good but in my opinion not exceptional and in terms of value for money it disappointed. I’d not ‘rave’ about The Angel which considering I was so excited was a source of disappointment.
A lovely meal and great service.
Just a totally fantastic evening. Thank you guys.
Loved everything about it
Amazing food......absolutely delicious. Each course was lovingly executed and like a work of art on a plate. Thank you all so much for a wonderful experience !!!
This is my second visit to the Angel & like the first it didn’t disappoint lovely food, friendly & informative service.
An excellent evening friendly attentive staff and a joy to have the tasting menu with so many lovely combinations of flavours. Definitely somewhere for that special occasion where you even talk to the Head chef Elly as well as watch her teamwork with the brigade in the kitchen. As a local resident we will definitely return
My wife and I attended the special tasting menu accompanied by Sharpham wine. The food was excellent, the wine (described by David from the winery) although not my usual taste in wine were surprisingly good. We would certainly return iwhen we are in the area
Thank you for a superb evening, delicious food and excellently paired wine. A perfect collaboration between yourselves and Sharpham Vineyard. Unpretentious atmosphere, special yet causal dining. Well done Jordan and finger crossed you achieve the award, being a sommelier is a skilful job. We intend to return, preferably out of season and we highly recommend taking the opportunity to visit The Angel. Next stop Sharpham!
Best restaurant meal we have had in this area for a long time looking forward to going back
Lovely food in very pleasant surroundings. Cheerful and attentive staff, a relaxing and enjoyable meal. Thanks to the kitchen for signing the menu - it was my wife's birthday.
Outstanding meal with excellent service.
Excellent meal. The food was delicious and the staff lovely.
Excellent meal - surely a Michelin Star in the future? Great service and very friendly. Only criticism is that the restaurant echos because there is little soft furnishing to absorb sounds, so can be a little noisy if it is busy and you are expecting a quiet romantic evening, but don't let that put you off! This is a really good restaurant and worth travelling to visit.
Excellent food and service. A wonderful experience.
