A brilliant meal and the service was exemplary...friendly and helpful and made us feel like a friend. We would definitely come back
Superb service, amazing food all with a special view. Fabulous birthday treat.
First class food and service
Superb Food, excellent service.
Fantastic meal fantastic service Thank You.
Very special food, the combination of flavours was wonderful. Thank you
Perfect as always We had the tasting menu for the first time and were treated to a series of truly delicious courses. Standouts were the roasted scallop to start with a beautiful tempura battered mussel to accompany it, with the final course being the sublime banana and pecan souffle with a lime caramel sauce - absolutely delicious. Many thanks to Elly and her team in the kitchen and to Jordan and Sarah in the front of house, where the service was characteristically warm and professional.
We had such a lovely evening on Saturday at the angel, celebrating my mother’s birthday. They made everything perfect, the food was outstanding, Ellie in the kitchen but also out in the dining room so we could talk to her a bit, Sarah the Maitre d’ and the other waiters keeping it all together in a really warm, calm, cheerful way. Honestly cannot fault the evening and very much hope they get a Michelin star soon, they deserve it.
A most enjoyable evening
Thanks for such a fabulous lunch. We were gutted that we didn't have space for dessert! We'll be back
Elly and the team left us speechless- Food: totally on point- Why don’t you have a Michelin star? Bizarre! An excellent dining experience, so wonderful we’re bringing the whole family down this December!! Full marks- we have no more words! Xx
A real shame that there were not more customers in on the night we visited. This super restaurant deserves more support. One very small niggle - could you throw in the tonic with the price of a gin?
Great food as always
Food incredible, blew us away. I am a bit of a foodie and this was sensational. The skill, passion and flair for food and service was outstanding. Please also pass on our sincere thank to the most wonderful service we have ever received to the lady who looked after us. She made our experience and is a true asset to the business. I cannot express how much we loved everything, truly phenomenal
This is an excellent restaurant and scores highly on all issues, my wife and I have eaten there several times both in the evening and lunchtime. It could be better and certainly we would come more frequently if the menu, particularly the lunchtime menu changed more often. The Loch Duarte salmon, the chicken terrine and various risottos, good though they are need to have a good rest after a busy summer. The mains are similar with frequent appearances from a limited cast - chicken, one or two similar fish dishes, a risotto and a meat dish. If I were a vegetarian, I would fare even worse. These points are less important in the height of the summer but critical to the long term success of the business.
This is the fourth time we have eaten at The Angel and have never been disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere is impeccable. The only negative comment I might add is that as a regular customer it might be nice to have a little more variety in the menu.
We are huge fans of Elly Wentworth from Masterchef and so pleased to be able to visit The Angel for lunch at the start of a visit to Devon and Cornwall. It didn’t disappoint. Food was carefully planned, wonderfully flavoured, imaginative and completely delicious. Keep up the great work and using those amazing local ingredients! Thank you!
Fish dishes were fantastic, very fresh and delicious flavours. The salmon was particularly outstanding. Service was excellent, very attentive! Overall a wonderful experience and will definitely visit again.
Absolutely amazing, a real treat. Service is great and food is just divine. Definitely coming back. Thank you.
Great place and Sarah made it feel Very special
We have booked again for November
Excellent food, fantastic service and great wine pairings. Couldn't have asked for a better 20th wedding anniversary meal.
As a single woman dining in your own can be stressful. But the staff made me feel so welcome and were very chatty and made me feel completely at home and relaxed which was much appreciated. The food was absolutely divine. I live part of the time in London and this food was far superior to many of the best restaurants there. The fresh ingredients used made all the difference. And the food and taste combinations were really interesting and tasted and looked wonderful. By far the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. If there was bit of constructive feedback I found the wine list a bit limiting. I am a wine lover and also study and collect it. With so much fish on the menu a petit Chablis or Chablis would have been welcome. But this is no way detracted from what was a great evening. Thank you very much Annie
A delicious innovative meal perfectly cooked, in a relaxed, informal setting. Tables well spaced, efficient & helpful service; unpretentious and friendly. A real treat. We will return when next in Dartmouth.
