About The American Bar at The Stafford London
The American Bar at The Stafford is legendary and belongs to the great tradition of the American cocktail bars that became renowned in London and Paris during the 1920s and 30s. It remains one of the longest surviving American bars in London and is much-loved by its discerning clientele.
Blending English heritage with contemporary sophistication, its intimate corners and clubby atmosphere is the perfect setting for lively conversations every night of the week. Its striking mahogany wood-panelled memorabilia filled interiors are lined with an intriguing collection of artefacts donated by patrons and guests over the years, along with photographs of British and American celebrities who have frequented this stylish, luxury hotel.
Serving classics and signature cocktails, The American Bar is overseen by Bar Director, Benoit Provost whose creations, new and vintage, are a reference for cocktail lovers all over the world.
In contrast to the typically British interior, the bar menu is full of exciting Mediterranean inspired dishes, ideal for an al fresco lunch or dinner in the private cobbled courtyard.
Our favorite Bar in London!
Absolutely fantastic place. Great atmosphere with superb service. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and visited the bar on several occasions. Can’t wait to go back
The Stafford is a great place to have lunch. Always a lovely atmosphere. However, the service on the back patio was very very slow and inattentive. Never pleasant to have to be waving down a member of staff to get service.
Great cocktails and lovely to be able to eat and drink outside
My only negative comment would be the confusion over what was on the menu and what was presented on the plate. I ordered fillet steak which on the menu says with Chips and Bernaise Sauce. However. It was presented with green beans and peas with no Bernaise sauce and no chips. I had to ask for both and the chips arrived when I had almost finished the meat. I was charged extra for the chips. There seems to be some confusion between the menu and what is being presented from the kitchen.
We had a lovely lunch in The American Bar - the food was great and the service excellent. Thank you !
Always a pleasure to dine here.
Great afternoon in The American Bar of The Stafford for lunch and drinks. Fantastic location but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of central London, giving it a secluded and relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely be back.
