About The Alyn
Nestled on the banks of the River Alyn in the picturesque village of Rossett, North Wales, The Alyn Riverside Country Pub is the perfect destination for excellent pub food, quality wines and real ales.
We open for food at noon, which is served all day, every day. Our menu is coeliac friendly and offers plenty of choice, whether you want to enjoy lunch with friends, a business dinner with colleagues or a family get together over a Sunday roast.
As well as a delicious choice of dishes, we offer an award-winning wine menu and a wide range of beers and case marque approved real ales. We can accommodate small and large parties, and our attentive and friendly staff will do everything they can to create a memorable occasion.
Throughout summer, guests can make the most of the fine weather by enjoying a drink or meal outside on our riverside terraces. This tranquil setting offers the ideal location to catch up with family and friends.
During the colder months, we create a cheerful and cosy atmosphere inside. Guests can relax and warm up whilst enjoying a hearty meal next to a roaring log fire.
We regularly feature special offers throughout the week, which provide exceptional value. Please visit our Monthly Offers page for information about our latest promotions.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family to The Alyn Riverside Country Pub soon
Very nice and attentive servers, very polite. Nice food also. They do the Meerkats Meals deal too, a nice change from the usual chain restaurants.
Choose to eat here as it was 2 for 1. The food itself is very nice, however we finished our starters which were lovely and not even 30 seconds after having the plates cleared we had our mains brought out- would have been a lot better to have at least 10 minutes to actually enjoy and let our food settle. Felt like we was being rushed to get out of there. However once we’d finished our mains, we then sat for 25/35 minutes with the money for bill waiting for someone to come over and in the end just left the money on the side of the til trying to get the waitress attention. Good food, service let’s you down. I’d understand if it was busy but I think there was 2 other tables and that’s it
Excellent service, sometimes a little frenetic.Food was poor I am sorry to say. Fries and peas were cold, scampi was fairly good. My friends did not make any comments ,good or bad. Disappointing.
The staff are the key here, they are very helpful and pleasant.
I was very disappointed, my chicken was tough and tasteless.
The meal was really lovely and we enjoyed ourselves
A lovely evening spent at the Alyn. Food was lovely, service excellent, food served at a steady pace, didn't feel rush at all. Thank you to all the staff.
We found that the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food excellent and the atmosphere friendly. Carys stands out as an excellent host.
Served promptly, we had steak, gammon and haddock dishes. All fine, ample portions even from the Lighter menu. Will definitely return.
I wish I could tell you our young waitresses name. She was on her own when we were there, quite a few tables taken and she was absolutely fantastic, friendly, quick, excellent. The food was delicious as usual and using the February 50% voucher an absolute bargain. Third visit in the past week and back next.for sure.
We had great service, the food was great and the dessert was amazing!
Very enjoyable evening with lovely food
We ordered a chicken roast and fish and chips. The chicken was undercooked and had some bits of blood running through it. The fish still had all the skin on one side which put my partner off so he just ate the chips. Roast potatoes were the best part. Diet Coke seemed a bit watered down and tasteless. Disappointed as I was here a few years ago and it was so much better.
Excellent meal and service
The food we had was excellent and plenty of it. However we were dismayed to find that they had run out of ribeyed steak and battered fish , and it was only 7.30 on a Friday evening. This has not put us off from returning especially with the 50% offer on main meals which is amazing.
Excellent service and lovely well cooked Sunday lunch. Very pleasant surroundings, clean and well looked after. Highly recommended!
The food was slow and when I ordered a pint during the meal I had to wait around 10 mins, we come fairly regularly and this hasn’t been an issue before. A girl was on a trial shift and I thought she was very polite and eager to help.
Standard of food I felt was poor. Was this because we had a 50%off voucher? Service excellent I don't think I would come at lunchtime again. Fish poor standard and chips and peas were cold
Waited twenty minutes to place order and forty minutes more before food appeared. Staff were undertrained and overwhelmed. My wife and I both had belly pork. One portion was twice the size of the other, but the dish was tasty. Our companions were unimpressed with their fish and chips and chicken sizzler, both describing the food as “dry”. Will not return
Very good friendly service. Did not feel the food was as tasty as it has been on previous visits
Always high quality food and staff very friendly
It was lovely going into The Alyn and to be welcomed by the young smiling staff after their busy late previous nights. We quickly placed our orders and had the food in a short time which was enjoyed by all the party. We have no hesitation in recommending a visit to The Alyn. Keep up the good work
