About The Alyn
Nestled on the banks of the River Alyn in the picturesque village of Rossett, North Wales, The Alyn Riverside Country Pub is the perfect destination for excellent pub food, quality wines and real ales.
We open for food at noon, which is served all day, every day. Our menu is coeliac friendly and offers plenty of choice, whether you want to enjoy lunch with friends, a business dinner with colleagues or a family get together over a Sunday roast.
As well as a delicious choice of dishes, we offer an award-winning wine menu and a wide range of beers and case marque approved real ales. We can accommodate small and large parties, and our attentive and friendly staff will do everything they can to create a memorable occasion.
Throughout summer, guests can make the most of the fine weather by enjoying a drink or meal outside on our riverside terraces. This tranquil setting offers the ideal location to catch up with family and friends.
During the colder months, we create a cheerful and cosy atmosphere inside. Guests can relax and warm up whilst enjoying a hearty meal next to a roaring log fire.
We regularly feature special offers throughout the week, which provide exceptional value. Please visit our Monthly Offers page for information about our latest promotions.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family to The Alyn Riverside Country Pub soon
Very good friendly service. Did not feel the food was as tasty as it has been on previous visits
Always high quality food and staff very friendly
It was lovely going into The Alyn and to be welcomed by the young smiling staff after their busy late previous nights. We quickly placed our orders and had the food in a short time which was enjoyed by all the party. We have no hesitation in recommending a visit to The Alyn. Keep up the good work
Waitress did not know what they were doing , bar staff were worse, Food was terrible and to top it off I was called ' Darling ' by the member of staff who took my order, very unprofessional. Will not be returning and will not be recommending to any one. Ruined our New Years Eve night out.
Unfortunately after having a great Christmas Day meal in 2018 this year's was horrendous. We waited 1 hour 15 mins for our starters, another hour for our dinner and another hour for our dessert. We were booked in for 2.30 pm and were the last table to be served. No-one asked us if we were enjoying our meal and I even had to ask for a soup spoon and butter for the bread. All in all an awful meal as we just had the leftovers as they had run out of food you could tell which was surprising seeing as how I had booked this meal months ago and they had our orders a month before! - seasonal veg is not garden peas and the outside leaves of a cabbage! It really did spoil our day and we had no-one to complain to as by the time our meal (what we ate of it) was finished there was nobody in sight. Will definitely be booking somewhere else for this year. It is so sad as it is a lovely pub but the food was not worth anywhere near the £65 each we paid. Very, very disappointed.
We booked a table for 7.30pm on new years eve. The place wasn't very busy and we were shown to.our table. All of the staff I saw were under 20 years of age. We sat down and asked to place a drinks order. The young waitress came over and my father in law asked if they served John Smiths bitter to which the waitress replied 'I'm not site I will go and check. I don't know much about drinks'. She came back and said they didn't serve it and he then ordered a pint of Guinness to which he was told they didn't have any. The food was ordered and it came out promptly and was very nice. The starters and mains were very good. It just seemed that they had very young staff working there that didn't have much of a clue.
Twenty members of our family (10 adults and 10 children) went to the Alyn for Sunday lunch and we had a wonderful time. The staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious! My daughter cannot tolerate dairy and had asked for sea bass without the chive cream sauce. She was offered a tomato sauce instead and given a very tasty dairy free sweet to follow. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely dining experiences!
Marc was very helpful and responsive when booking our Christmas Day meal. Everything on the day was as expected.
We have been here a few times and always have no issues, lovely food, drink and always a friendly service.
Food was not good, extremely bland, overcooked and overpriced . Service very slow , especially as few people eating. Very disappointed.
Had an excellent Christmas evening with all the family 👍😄😄
Excellent food and first class service! Had our work's Christmas party there and it was excellent! Thank you to all at The Alyn.
I had the best rib eye steak ever, the whole meal was amazing and I did thank the chef too,
The most lovely food I have had for a very long time. Beautifully presented and marvellous taste. The three of us all ordered different food and all as pleased as myself.
I booked for a lunchtime with my wife & grandson. The service was excellent, fast & courteous. The food was top class & we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My grandson enjoyed colouring in pictures which were provided for children. We said we would definately come again and that we would recommend it to our friends & family. A lovely atmosphere with friendly smiling staff. We will see you all again in the near future. Wishing all your staff a very merry Christmas. James Tesseyman Wirral

Excellent good and service
Poor table service, extra starter didn’t order, which was also added to the bill. Food was fine though
Such a lovely warm homely place to dine. The food was outstanding and the service perfect. Keep up the excellent work guys. I love navy blue but it’s a tad bright maybe go a bit darker and the place would be perfect x
