About The Aldwark Arms
The Hardisty brothers Pete, Andy and Ian are returning the Aldwark Arms to it’s rightful place at the heart of the Aldwark Village. They have bought the Aldwark Arms and following a period of intense re-furbishment, the pub will re-open from December 10th 2013 including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and into 2014. Welcoming, cosy and inviting, the Aldwark Arms will now offer a great range of real ales, a tempting menu created by Jim Wilkinson which includes high quality lunch and dinner menus prepared from locally sourced meat, fish and fresh produce on a daily basis complemented with a wide selection of excellent wines, soft drinks and of course those wonderful real ales. So whether you are wanting to dine out at night to a la carte standards, a hearty bar meal after a round of golf, some fishing or a good old country ramble, or a Sunday roast with all the trimmings with the whole family, there will be something to whet your appetite. The emphasis is on comfort and friendly but excellent service.
The precautions taken for having to eat outside and covid were brilliant, we were not cold at all even though it had been pouring down all day, the food and service were amazing, as always!
Lovely time as always. Food is delicious, staff are friendly and the set up was fab. Looking forward to coming again soon.
Lovely evening with a friend sitting in the marquee. Glad we were sat close to the conservatory which was probably a little warmer. Made the most of the hot water bottles and blankets available so was nice and warm. Service as usual was excellent. Friendly attentive staff. Will be back x
Thank you to all the staff for our great Sunday lunch and drinks- we were in the outside tent pods and were warm enough with the heater and hot water bottles despite the poor weather- Hope to see you all soon Ginny x
What a beautiful Sunday afternoon we had we will be back soon
The pods are excellent, the food was superb and the service was perfect! Thoroughly recommended
Great food and service, loved it despite the cold. Ambience hard to create but it was a good effort. Hot water bottles a nice touch 👍
Very great service and amazing fiod
Lovely family meal with plenty of choices for gluten free and dairy intolerance. Service was brilliant. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Please give the option to leave a tip when paying with card we felt really bad as we had no cash and had a lovely lunch on Friday afternoon
Lovely evening with friends, felt covid safe and relaxed. Well done and see you again soon!
Great meals the lamb was particularly good. Though a cold evening the individual rugs were most welcome.
It was great to be able to dine out at the weekend to celebrate my son’s birthday. We sat in the main marquee (as eating indoors is not allowed yet) and the whole experience felt very covid safe. The food was (as always) delicious and the waitering staff very attentive. When the desserts came (for those who had ordered them) the waitress also bought a special ‘Happy Birthday’ slate for my son, with a candle and edible treats on. All in all a really lovely, relaxing meal out. Only one negative, I would love for there to be more gluten free options, particularly for desserts. I love a dessert but as I’m not a fan of ice cream, I had to go without.
Timmy Taylor’s was too cold, a small comment and not much you can do with the size of the cellar.
Visited Aldwark Arms as a birthday treat , 4 adults and 3 children, for Sunday lunch. We were seated in one of the mini marquees, and it was very cosy and warm. The food was superb. My roast beef was cooked pink, juicy and tasty. The roast pork came with crackiling. Veg and extra gravy were served separately. Crispy onion rings(extra) with gravy, awesome. Kids meals were great, chocolate brownies demolished. Attentive service, lovely beer, a fantastic exoerience all round!!
Took family for a meal after a while. Covid safe environment. Very friendly, welcoming, courteous staff. The food was delicious. We all enjoyed it. Will visit again. Thank you.
In the circumstances, the site was set up so well with the outside pods and the marquee which we ate in, and the staff were awesome; friendly and organised as usual, plus the food was fantastic; what's not to like! Organisation was slick and orderly with plenty of staff to cater for the customers who were all excited to be 'out out' after the first stage of lockdown easing! It must be exhausting running around with those masks on, but the staff were polite and really attentive; they are clearly well trained and seemed happy in their jobs! Looking forward to the next time! thank you
Excellent efforts made to enable us to enjoy eating out again after months of restrictions whilst retaining safety measures for staff and customers. Well done guys we all thoroughly enjoyed our time in our very own mini Marquis whilst enjoying great value tasty food for a Sunday lunch treat. We will be back soon!
The deserts at £7.50 a head seemed rather steep for what came
Lovely to be able to go out again it was a little chilly but didn’t put us off
Lovely food! Excellent service! Just a little cold due to Covid restrictions but hopefully will be able to eat inside again soon
Excellent food and service as always, you are all doing an amazing job under difficult circumstances. Well done and see you all again soon
Well done, a pleasure to spend time with you, really appreciate your hard work at this time
A lovely and very filling meal and really friendly service.
Great set up for dining outside - warm and comfortable and brilliant service. Highly recommended
