About The Aldwark Arms
The Hardisty brothers Pete, Andy and Ian are returning the Aldwark Arms to it’s rightful place at the heart of the Aldwark Village. They have bought the Aldwark Arms and following a period of intense re-furbishment, the pub will re-open from December 10th 2013 including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and into 2014. Welcoming, cosy and inviting, the Aldwark Arms will now offer a great range of real ales, a tempting menu created by Jim Wilkinson which includes high quality lunch and dinner menus prepared from locally sourced meat, fish and fresh produce on a daily basis complemented with a wide selection of excellent wines, soft drinks and of course those wonderful real ales. So whether you are wanting to dine out at night to a la carte standards, a hearty bar meal after a round of golf, some fishing or a good old country ramble, or a Sunday roast with all the trimmings with the whole family, there will be something to whet your appetite. The emphasis is on comfort and friendly but excellent service.
Great food and service as always considering COVID restrictions and quick service using the new online ordering through the QR code app.
We regularly visit the Aldwark Arms and this was our first trip out to celebrate my daughter's 30th lock down Birthday. She always goes for the pie. We had a lovely time and we felt well looked after and safe and that everything was in place within Covid-19 guidelines. Well done to the team, we will be back
Fantastic meal on only the 2nd day of pubs reopening. The place was very covid secure, staff were so friendly and food was lovely. Thank you
Visited Aldwark Arms, now it has reopened since lockdown. It was obvious how much time and effort has been put into making the pub as safe and clean as possible. The staff were lovely as always and the food was perfect. For anybody feeling anxious about going out due to the circumstances, this is the perfect place to go. As little contact as possible, spread out tables and a one way system. It was lovely to have a bit of normality and get out!
Felt totally safe with the Covid measures they have implemented. Food and service was 100% as it always has been.
the evening went extremely well this service and the staff was first class. I myself suffer from MND.and requested my ribeye steak was sliced this was not a problem and was cut into mouth size pieces.we were a party of 8 sat on 2 nearby tables.price for all meals and drinks was very reasonable. will be going back very well organized
It was a very reassuring experience in these scary times
Great to be back
Love this place always a great time food always good & staff very friendly & attentive, will be good when accommodation is available so one of us does not have to drive home See you soon for our next visit guys
Lovely meal as always. So good to be back! We were very happy with the changes that have been put in place and felt very safe. Still had a great atmosphere and we loved the marquee bar area. We'll be back soon.
Friendly and helpful staff, lovely ambiance and great food.
As good as always
Staying locally in a hotel and needed somewhere eat on a Monday evening. Trip advisor recommend, I looked at their website and saw they had Monday pie and a pint night. Attended and wasn’t disappointed. There is a normal menu but we chose the pie. A very tasty all pastry steak and ale pie. It arrived with lovely brown chips and a small but different selection of veg. My husband had a real ale pint x 2 and said it was excellent. The pub was busy in the main bar area but there was separate room for the restaurant (+ conservatory) which was quiet. Staff were very friendly. Personally I can’t fault the pie and pint night.
Lovely Sunday lunch .great food , Helpful staff to my food questions.chilled out atmosphere. looking forward to our next visit.
Lovely food and friendly, helpful staff.
Great night and great food and service, will definitely come back again
The food on the set price retro menu was fairly priced although portions were small. The food on the normal menu was overpriced for what you actually got. The Eton mess for £6.95 is far too expensive for the size of the portion. The £4 cost on the retro menus was much more appropriate for the size of dish. Steak ordered was meant to be medium rare and was medium well. If you're going to ask how I want my steak cooked, at least cook it like I ask! Service was shocking considering the restaurant was pretty much empty half way through our meal. Staff were too busy cleaning up to take our order or check we had enough drinks, or even come take the money when we wanted to pay our bill! We had to get up and pay at the bar! A spoiled small celebratory night out, and unfortunately I wont be recommending it to friends or coming again myself. When you have competition like the Dawnay Arms and Tomahawk nearby you need to up your game to compete.
We booked last minute so not surprised that we were tucked away amp at so little atmosphere but still enjoyed it.
Was staying in the Aldwark manor hotel this weekend. Walked to Aldwark arms both Friday and Saturday. Gorgeous food. Great atmosphere. Just a lovely place to be
Lovely welcome from Liv, especially as we had not visited for a while. It was good to be back.
Great service and great food. Will certainly be back again. Thanks to all
Lovely food, great service.
Had a fantastic meal with friends from Shropshire, food as always was amazing. Our friends were very impressed with the food service and atmosphere. Sorry to see the fish pie was off the Retro menu but was great to be able to order it on the specials. "Please bring back the black pudding scotch egg"
Absolutely brilliant experience been before which was very good but this was better!!!
The staff were outstanding. Was really impressed with the level of service.
