About The Albany Belfast
The Albany Belfast, inspired by the elegant sophistication of Old School America provides the perfect atmosphere for guests to relax and enjoy iconic drinks re-designed by our drink specialists ranging from American classics to modern day twists, perfectly paired with exquisitely prepared food ranging from, simple bar snacks to a three-course meal to classic roasts on Sundays.
The restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of waiters standing round but they were very slow to come to server us/take our orders. This put me off going back as I felt there was no urgency to tend to us despite the staff being friendly
Had a lovely meal off the early bird menu and the cocktails were amazing
I am a regular customer however on this occasion, standards fell well short of expectations. Key issues included one starter did not arrive until 10/15 mins after the others and two guests found their main course cold and beef was found to be particularly tough. All in alll, not considered value for money at £150, including 10% added for service, which was well below acceptable standards. I will use the Albany again but not for Sunday lunch and not to entertain guests.
The service was very good and all the food tasted good, I got a chicken wrap and it had a bone in it which I wasn't pleased about.
Thank you to each and every member of staff for making my daughter's graduation party such a memorable occasion. We thank you also for your friendly, kind and brilliant service. You are a credit to both your employer and the hospitality business. See you again every time we are in Belfast. Thank you once again, Roger, Carol Ann and family.
Was very disappointed in the service this time, not enough staff on to cover tables
Having been to the Albany several times before, it was however a few months since our last visit. Very disappointing, entire restaurant smelt of stale beer, three different servers led for a confusing and delayed service. Feels like the place has gone downhill and is lacking in attention to detail.
I love the Albany, BUT,..Since our last visit the kids chicken goujons have shrunk in size however the kids ate free, children = sad, parents = happy. The last 3 times, we’re always put in the same seats, there has been a cold draft which has made us leave as soon as meals are finished
Lovely food and good value for money
Large portions of tasty food served by attentive staff, despite being a busy Saturday night food arrived swiftly and there was always a waiter/Waitress on hand for drinks
Service excellent, background music perfect. Starters (spicy chicken wings) lovely. Main course a disaster. Steaks (sirloin & fillet) were tough and full of gristle and the frozen chips were fried to within an inch of their life. I would say we both ate about less than half of each steak. We did mention the quality to the waitress when we paid our of £114 bill. We did tip but this was purely down to the service.
Took over 2 hours for food to come. Waiters blamed a ‘busy kitchen’ then after a very poor dish - two steaks both completely incorrectly cooked, the waiter then told us there was no chefs, and it was untrained waiters etc cooking and that they were just telling everyone before and everyone was fine with it. If I had been informed before I certainly wouldn’t have been ok paying £50+ for two steaks that I could have cooked better myself.
My starter (pork belly) was too small but otherwise all starters very tasty. Mains were disappointing - my duck was overcooked and lukewarm, my friend's cauliflower steak was raw. Initially the spotlight over the table "was bright enough to do surgery" but they toned it down as the evening went on. Seats uncomfortable. Service friendly but slow.
Great Sunday Meal with the family. Food was beautiful and great value for money, will def be back!!
Excellent steak. Great atmosphere. Staff were brilliant. Highly recommend.
Unfortunately there were 2 dishes that had finished but we were only advised after orders had been taken. Waiter returned after 5 mins to notify of one dish that couldn’t be fulfilled and when that order was changed, he returned a further 5 mins down the line to advise no sausages for one if the children. An entirely different member of the party then received his burger with cheese and garnish although he had asked for Kobe. Felt a little bit haphazard all round. Atmosphere was fine with our friends but we’d been put down the very back away from any life that was at the front of the bar/restaurant. Unfortunate experience but otherwise the food was good.
Great as always
The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I would gladly eat here again.
Always a pleasant experience at the albany :)
Chicken served was not supreme of chicken but simply a dry chicken breast. One piece of beef was tough the other was soft. Jacobs cream crackers with the cheese board??? Carrot and parsnip were tasteless prepared veg. Chocolate ice cream with the desserts, had obviously ran out of vanilla but we were not informed, just presented with something we didnt order. Sticky toffee pudding was definitely not up to the usual standard. Disappointing overall
I brought my mum for a Mother's Day lunch. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and didn't have to wait long in between courses. I would definitely return soon
The food was lovely and the waiting staff were very friendly however, the drinks we ordered to have with our main didn’t arrive until we had finished. The tables were very cramped together and it made it hard to relax as other guests were nearly at the same table. I’m future I’d book a high table at the other side of the cocktail bar.
We have been coming now for 3 weeks for Sunday dinner first week we went food was great 2nd week we went food was ok 3rd week which was Sunday past the food was nearly getting sent back the beef I couldn’t even cut through it the fat on it was awful I had to ask them were they sure it wasn’t lamb because it was so so fatty last week has put us off coming back kids enjoyed there food which was great service is fantastic staff are lovely but food definitely needs improvements
Excellent food and service ...as always.
Food was beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful. Long wait for drinks at the table but food service was prompt. Booths very comfortable and excellent for group outings!
