About Thames Lido
The restaurant sits along the northern edge of the building, nestled between the pool and the river Thames. The food is authentic Lido style as developed and evolved by Lido Bristol Head Chef Freddy Bird. The Lido Bristol restaurant has received many awards over the past 8 years including runner up in this years best restaurant category in the Observer Food Monthly Awards.
The attitude of the service staff is very important to me. You guys have got it right: friendly, you know your stuff, you are interested, and not pandering (like Lauto'lan - ugh!). Food choice for breakfast was good but I would have loved Eggs Benedict. The Turkish Eggs was good. Will be back.
Fabulous food, amazing atmosphere and excellent service- thank you for a great lunch!
Great place, great food and spot on service. We will be back frequently, so please keep the menus moving!!
A great evening - great food, great atmosphere, great service....and a great place to spend time with friends! We will definitely be back
We had a great evening. The service is good but not brilliant. The food is great. However It’s a great menu unless you are allergic to fish! The wine list really needs more options that are at the less expensive end of the spectrum. £30+ for a bottle of Gavi de Gavi - seriously?
This was my first visit to the Thames Lido. I met friends there for lunch. I really enjoyed the food (imaginative menu) and service was perfect. I will return to do a spa day The only criticisms I would have are: A) Not enough parking, I wasn't allowed to use the spa parking, and the NCP was full. I had to park in the Station car park, at a cost of £8 just for lunch! B) A Little more signage would be useful on the building.
Second time eating, just made a bad choice of mains. Will be back to try other dishes.
Beautiful food. Excellent flavours. Fixed price menu is well priced. A la carte (which is all that's available on Sunday) is over priced.
Small portions, desert menu dominated by ice cream
Had a great lunch here on a beautiful sunny day. A warm welcome and delicious food. We will be back!
Excellent day out, ideal location to meet a friend from London. I am a member of the Clifton Lido and was delighted to find the unique experience replicated in Reading. The weather was perfect too!
It was heaven sitting by the Lido's pool in the shade of an umbrella yesterday morning for a birthday brunch. There was certainly nowhere else in Reading we would rather have been on a gorgeous sunny day! Great service, delicious food and friendly staff. Thank you!
The food is always incredible and though the a la Carte menu is not cheap, it’s reasonable for he quality of food - and if you choose the set menu I think it’s a bargain. Atmosphere and service always amazing.
We had a very enjoyable evening in a lovely environment. However two of the three main dishes were quite heavily over seasoned which made them less enjoyable. We told two members of staff at the time. We felt that overall the price we paid did not match the quality of the food sadly.
Change the menus more often. I’ve run out of things to try 😀
Excellent all round.
I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere very much
Best restaurant in Reading by far. Lovely setting. Fabulous staff.
Great food and service. Frustrated that as a member I had to pay to park :-( seriously please sort this out - maybe offer to pay for parking if full with spa visitors and have booked a restaurant place?
Amazing food, fantastic service and warm and friendly staff. Thank you!!
It was my fifth visit. I love the place. Keep up the good work!
Nice to place to go after work with colleagues.
Delicious meal as usual
Awesome experience, food and service absolutely first class! I will be back to eat soon ! Loved it!
