About Thali Southville
Neighbourhood restaurant packed full of exciting Indian flavours in the historic Tobacco Factory.
Always a joy to eat at Thali cafe, such a deceptively short menu hides some of the best food in Bristol. Service is always friendly and prompt. Have recommended this place ad nauseum.
Had a fantastic birthday meal at the Southville Thali - service was excellent, food excellent and the atmosphere and setting great! Definitely recommend for a night out with friends.
Awesome food and great service, even if it was ridiculously busy! Thanks again!
Excellent food and service, probably the best Indian cuisine I've had in Bristol. Great value. I love the menu sticking to few things, but few things done really well.
Food was fantastic, service was brilliant. Lovely evening out.
This is the best Thali in Bristol. Brilliant service. Totterdown has been disappointing the last 2 times thru bad service and too noisy with the upstairs bit closed off!
We loved everything about our visit! Food was incredible, the staff were super nice and really knew their stuff, a lovely atmosphere and after skimming over the desserts we were pleasantly surprised with BOTH our choices recommended by our lovely waiter!
Disappointed by fairly bland food from a very limited menu. Hard to compare the offering to the flavoursome delights found around India.
Quick and attentive service - pre theatre, so not much time, but all worked really well. Gorgeous, no fuss food.
Great food. Efficient service. A favourite.
Food was quite bland. Needs spicing up. Not enough flavour, especially in the pumpkin!
Lovely waiter, welcoming & able to observe our pace.
The staff seemed to be in a daze. Forgot our poppadum's. and had to be hollered over during the meal for service. Finally we asked for the bill which never came. So we walked over to the till. And was ignored for several minutes before the staff member eventually came over to take our our order thinking that we had just walked in. Its a shame because I love the food here. But the staff need some considerable training. It wasn't even that busy!!!
Really it's brilliant and delicious and a no brainer..always worth going. The only small defect is the waiting staff need training in how to manage customers from when they arrive, to water to their tables, to orders...with no taking of notes things get forgotten .....still this applies to other eateries
After having no record of our online booking, the restaurant were very accommodating.
Easy to book table online. Received acknowledgement of booking and another email day before dining to confirm or cancel booking; great idea. On arrival, we were welcomed and seated quickly. Table service was polite and speedy. Food was really fresh and tasty. Free bottle of wine for our birthday meal. Very enjoyable evening. Would recommend.
Authentic Indian food as it should be - spicy without paralysing your taste buds, fresh and delicious individual flavours to each dish. Far removed from the standard brown sludge you find in many "Indian" restaurants in this country. Best I have found outside of London (other than in India itself of course!)
Shocking experience. Have visited the thali cafe many times but this time the service was incredibly slow. Over 30 mins for drinks and nearly 2 hours for food. Staff were unattentive and lacklustre. Cocktails were not as good as they used to be. I won’t be visiting again or recommending thali to anyone.
Service was very bad, the young guys were clearly in training, didn’t know what they were doing, didn’t bring out popadoms until main course, took ages to bring everything. Food was ok, but nothing special.
Wonderful staff who couldn't do enough and delicious food as always.
Another lovely meal at the Thali Cafe. Great for families.
Loved it very tasty and great waiters
Had a really good meal with you on Sunday. Excellent service, efficient but not rushed. Will be back soon!
