About Thali Southville
Neighbourhood restaurant packed full of exciting Indian flavours in the historic Tobacco Factory.
I go to Thali Cafe for special occasions and for a bite to eat with friends and I've never been disappointed. The food is amazing and prices are reasonable, the atmosphere and the decor are cosy and the service is always great.
We tried the small plates for the first time. They were excellent, a really good alternative to the Thalis
We had a great evening
Great food, amazingly tasty, every dish is bursting with fresh flavours , great atmosphere , friendly service . Will recommend .
Amazing food and good value for money. We ate at 6pm pre-theatre. Would recommend
Starters were a bit pricey but overall good value. Food was good
Lovely stuff, will come again!
Really tasty food, good service and good value
The food was as tasty as ever & we’re already looking forward to our next visit. The masala chai with the gulab jaman was absolutely delicious.
Had a lovely meal. We were given free poppadoms as apology for the delay.. A delay of only 10 minutes. Really lovely gesture. Food was great. Can't wait to go back to try the parathas.
Love the friendly service and the delicious food
Love Thali Cafe.
Really friendly place for lunch, service good, food enjoyable. Totally recommend
Really unfriendly services - to be fair just one waitress who was so not interested in us then stood over us, completely unsmiling, whilst instructing is in how to give a tip. Food was really nice but 3 out of 6 of us had to send it back to reheat as it arrived cold.
Brilliant tasty food as always! Only comments would be the cocktails were very sweet and didn’t taste particularly alcoholic and at times our table felt a bit ignored by staff in terms of getting water/more drinks. Generally it was great and we’ll be back again!
Friendly staff and good food. We enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.
very tasty and great value, thank you
Nice food and relaxed atmosphere.
The premises are a little too large to create a really good inviting atmosphere - especially at lunchtime. M
Nice food, but £1 per poppadom is extortionate. Without thinking I got 8 for the table and dips never dreaming it would. Come to £11. In any Indian restaurant I have ever been to, the poppadoms are usually free or £1.50 for 10 at the most. It really brought down the whole experience because the rest of the meal was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Very tasty food, friendly staff, though felt a bit rushed by them at times
Friendly service, delicious food, great atmosphere. I will be back!
There were 20 of us on the evening and everything was delivered quickly and very smoothly. Food was an excellent quality and very fresh. Definitely would return again! Web site has a few issues with booking, tried to use the drop down version on booking for a larger quantity and it was not working. Also a quicker response to my phone and email confirming the higher numbers would have been appreciated but apart from that the Thali were very good hosts.
1 star 'off' for atmosphere. 5:30 on a Thursday, so very empty and barnlike. Just two (charming) front-of-house in duty. I love the food and service, but Southville's not my favourite Thali because of lack of e.g.'cosy' areas when it's quiet. The other Thalis 'do' atmosphere much better, all times of day. Just a comment!
