Booked a table for 1.30 wasn’t told there was a wait on food. Food arrived at 2.20. Was informed at 2.10 what we had ordered for my little boy wasn’t now available. What he did have wasn’t very good value for money and didn’t look very presentable at all. My burger was also cold
Prices are a little steep but overall very enjoyable experience and service was great
Arrived 30 minutes before our reservation time and seated instantly. Great service
I booked a table in advance for my daughters birthday on Feb 14th for 4 teens. I gave the greeting staff a Birthday cake and candles and explained she was 14 today and after their mains could your staff bring out her cake. I wanted to take pictures of her blowing out the candles and to share the moment with her, however at 14 apparently its not cool to have your mum hanging around so I wasn't there but again reminded your staff that there was a cake. I texted my daughter twice to ask had her cake arrived and both times she no. The service had been very slow and as a result I had to wander around Cardiff longer than I thought. Finally I had a text to say they were all finished so I made my way to TGIs and when I asked the server why my daughters birthday cake had not been brought out she explained that NO ONE had even told her. I'm afraid it did leave the evening a bit flat and I never got the photos I'd hoped for. So after paying the bill which was £107 we headed home and I'm afraid I was annoyed.!!! Please don't blame the server as she knew nothing about any Birthday Cake. Your meet and greet staff should have ensured that OUR table assigned to that particular Server, had a cake with candles.
Ethan was just the nicest waiter ever, he was so friendly, so helpful and so lovely! We had 3 courses, cocktails and everything was delicious!
Service incredibly slow Dishes were not as described in menu
We arrived early to get a drink at the bar after waiting nearly half an hour still no drink. Only two bar staff and the place was packed. Got to our table no folks only when we asked when the meal arrived. Took ages for drinks to arrive. Staff didn’t seem to know whether to get drinks or food. When the food came it was over cooked I think from standing in the serving area. Ordered new drink when our food arrived. They arrived after the meal was finished with an apologetic waitress who knew we had been waiting far too long. Overall not enough staff and the staff they had didn’t know whether to serve drinks or food or clean tables.
Having to type something to submit review
Overall we had a really lovely evening and the staff were amazing, as usual! The atmosphere was brilliant and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his birthday celebrations with the balloons and cake etc. I absolutley love TGI's and would always recommend highly. As for the reasons I have not given 5 stars are as below: The service was great and as I said the staff were really friendly, however, we were left waiting for our drinks to be refilled for quite some time with 2/3 empty glasses on the table. The food is brilliant value for money however the cocktails, I do believe to be overpriced, even for Cardiff.
The lady that sat us was a bit rude but the guy that served us all night was lovely We went too impressed with the taco starters as there were 3 small strips of chicken each definitely not worth £7
Being regular TGI customers it was a disappointment to have poor standard food. The ribs were highly undercooked and garlic bread was very hard. Also, we had to wait 10 minutes to be served at the bar before we had an opportunity to get a drink which lead to a further 10 minutes waiting at the table for a waiter before having any refreshments. This experience has made us think twice about returning in the future.
We booked our table on Valentine's day and it wasn't too busy which was nice. Our server was Luke who was absolutely fab! Friendly and nice and making sure our meal was fine without being overbearing. Everything with our orders were perfect, not a note missed by the kitchen.
Very fast service
First time going! Loved it and food was amazing lovely staff 😌😌
Beautiful food celebrating a birthday but unfortunately we was a table for 9 and we was put by the window at the back asked if the air conditioning was on but was told it was cold as we was by the window, spoilt a lovely night as 4 of us had to put our coats on to keep warm. Did mention it to Waiter but he said it was because of the window, so disappointed at being so cold .
The food was really lovely, like the majority of the time. The waiteress was friendly and happy to help, was please with the fantastic service.
Service was excellent only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. There was a wide range of cocktails to choose from.
We go to tgis on Newport road Cardiff regularly as we love the food and receive a pleasant, enjoyable experience. On this occasion we went to the st David’s restaurant and had extremely poor, slow service and had the wrong meal given to us. We were not compensated for this and do not want to return to that restaurant after our experience.
amazing thank you, the birthday cake was lovely too
Great place to eat.
Excellent service and foo but music to loud
Thank you all service food and drink top draw last nite will be back very soon keep up the good work👍
I booked months in advance to get there on time to be told to wait while our table was getting ready. I had rang on the day to inform fridays of a birthday guest (a 50th) to get to the desk and be asked are you booked in for the birthday celebration which ruined the surprise! So thanks TGIs.....
very welcoming and fantastic staff
