One step forward, two steps back. This is our 4th visit to Speke since it opened, every time there has been a problem. Forgotten food, wrong food, slow food, wrong bill, we’ve had it all. Each time a manager has apologised, which is appreciated, but we won’t be back for a while until this restaurant gets established.
Firstly we sat by the kitchen which was fine however we observed that food is sat under the lights for at least 15 minutes before taken to table's, one of our meals was sent back as portion was considerably smaller than the others, and all meals a lot smaller than Liverpool one, we paid for refillable drinks never any staff around to fill them, and the lady's toilets where filthy with paper all over the floor. Deserts where left so long under the lights the ice cream melted and has to be redone. Finally I selected birthday celebration on my booking it said there would be props and a song but sadly nothing at all.
Food was cold. No cutlery on the table we had to ask Fizzy cola was like drinking cola flavoured water no fizz
Staff are very polite, booked a table so no waiting. Didn’t feel rushed although booking said we could only really have an hour. Food was enjoyable. Would go again
Great food, great atmosphere, best ribs in town. Would recommend to anyone to go there.
Booked at 6.45... orded at 7.. starters didn’t come till 7.55 then our mains was nearly 8.50.. we didn’t leave till gone 9.30... very bad wait for service especially with 2 young kids.. by the time the main meal come we was past it.. not happy one bit.. I’d like to make this an official complaint.. !!
Food was excellent, service was great atmosphere fantastic, it was a little pricey for drinks but overall I would recommend to anyone and I will be definitely going back. 👍🏻
Went for my birthday, the staff were lovely and polite. Service was amazing so was the food. Even the staff coming over singing happy birthday ;)
Hi. Waitress very friendly and professional! However I did try and get a few other members of staffs attention throughout the evening but couldn’t. So maybe general staff could have asked if everything was ok from time to time. The food was good. My dish very tasty. However daughter got burger and she spat it out. So did baby. Was too dry. All other kids meals fine. However every other restaurant doesn’t kids meal atlesst including a drink. Most include a drink and desert. So I suggest perhaps putting kids meals slightly up and include drink and desert also. Parents like to feel they are getting a good deal! Atmosphere and setting I found good. Table was big and really great. Overall was pretty good. Some room for improvement. Must say st the end the 2 girl staff helped to watch my kids while I gathered all bags etc which was very kind. Our personal waitress was very very friendly and kind and professional and deserves a big pat on the back as she represents your company perfectly! Asset to the team. Thanks for the meal! I’m sure we will be back. Hope you take my comments I board. Kind regards, Natalie ( if you wish to ring me to discuss please do so).
Nachos very soft like they where stale Burger was underdone Chips where freezing when they arrived on the table ended up having to share my wife's meal. Music was blearing couldn't hear a convostaion across the table.
We had to wait for 10 minutes for someone to take a drink order. The service was very slow. The good came and was cold. We used to rate TGIF. but feel this was very very ooor for the £75 we paid ! Not good at all.
I had the 12oz rib eye & my wife had the chicken tenders. We both thought the food was lovely & the service was great. Will definitely come back. Thanks
Our table wasn’t ready, so we were left to stand around for 10 minutes, even though there where plenty of empty tables by bar. Should have been seated and given menus to look at while waited in my opinion. Server was pleasant and helpful but overwhelmed so service wasn’t brilliant but not the servers fault as no bar staff. Some drink items not available. Just teething problems and I would still recommend
The food was a a 40 minute wait but everything else was good
I came with my brother and his girlfriend as I LOVE TGIs in town, and I was so excited for this to open nearby but I am so deeply disappointed. Firstly, they ran out of one ingredient which coincidently was in both of the cocktails we chose so we couldn’t have either, so I opted for a coke. That came within seconds, then the replacement cocktail came 10 minutes then, then my brothers beer came another 3 minutes after that. We got our starter before our drinks. Then, our food was horrific, the nachos had iceberg lettuce in the middle on top of the driest tortilla chips, I literally picked one up and it had nothing but a piece of lettuce on. For £12 I’ve never seen anything like it in my life, disgraceful. I wouldn’t even say they had cheese on Just soooo much onion, I make better ones at home. Similarly my pasta was worse than microwave meals I’ve had from Tesco. My brother got a massive plate and some chicken pieces on the corner of it, it was actually so funny how that was served to us, I have a photo. I am never been so disappointed in a meal in all my life and I am very tolerable - I am a hospitality manager and have complete empathy but it really was absolutely diabolical. When the waitress asked how everything was I couldn’t lie and say it was even slightly nice but I didn’t want to massively complain either due to my work and being in the industry, but she still took 25% off the bill and comped the cocktail which was very much appreciated. Her name was Jodie according to our bill so that made me leave with a slightly less bitter taste. But overall a real real disappointment.
Booked a table as last time i went i couldn't get in despite me trying to book a table online without success. Took my two grandchildren and husband and was quite excited as i often go to the one in Sutton Coldfield where my daughter lives and love it. however our food arrived and everything was luke warm, I am used to having my food luke warm when i have the children as by the time i have sorted them out mine is usually warm, however by the time i sorted the kids out my was freezing. I complained to my waiter and he said he would tell her? don't know who her was. Anyway nobody came back only the waiter to say that another waiter was taking over as he was now on his break. I was annoyed and to be hones I wouldn't eat there again, There was no excuse for cold food as it was empty, plus when i told my Son who had been there the night before he told me that there food was cold and they sent it back?? need to sort your chef out and your staff, such a shame as if you can't sort it out when your empty whats going to happen when your full.
Food took ages to come to the table, when it did it was luke warm, almost everything was luke warm. The waiter was nice and friendly and attentive apart from one thing, finished dishes/food was left on the table for far too long, the mains were brought to the table without the starter dishes being taken away. The lack of hot food and the dirty dishes being left on the table, plus the cost, means we probably won’t come again
Main meals came out at all different times. Had to wait a long time for 1 meal whilst kids had finished and 2 adult meals were halfway through. Also kids cucumbers had been cut with a knife that must have also been used to cut chilli as it was very spicy
Very nice, big place. Staff super friendly. Our waitress was just great. Very nice food. I will definitely go back and I'll take more family with.
Only newly opened, so service still a little slow, despite not being that busy, particularly for the drinks. One member of our party ordered ribs, but wasn't asked if it was a half or full rack. He found the server later to specify. Food didn't take long to arrive and was well cooked and presented.
Ordered blackcurrant and soda and a J2O. We’re given an apple and blackcurrant with soda and a cheap equivalent of a J2O. Feel that we should have been told if requested drinks were not available. Sent one of them back. The waiter lacked in customer service. The music was way too loud, couldn’t have a conversation. Will not be returning to this restaurant.
When we arrived we were shown straight to our table and asked if we would like drinks.... this was the only time we were asked, we would have had another drink. We had ribs and sesame chicken which were absolutely delicious couldn’t fault the food or the price.
