Having dined in TGI's before, it was my daughters request that we dine here again to celebrate her 19th Birthday. I notified the restaurant in advance that this was a special occasion and from the moment we entered the restaurant, it was a complete let down. When we were "greeted" (if you could call it that) by our server, he spoke in such a monotone voice that it was clear that he would rather have been anywhere except there at that given time. It was so bad he put me in mind of Eeyore and he didn't even ask who the birthday girl was! The table had been decorated with a couple of TGI balloons and a light box wishing my daughter a happy birthday which would have been a nice touch had the light box actually worked - given that it had no batteries in it, there was no chance of getting it to. There was a Tesco Superstore just 5mins away, why didn't they send someone to get some?? It's the little touches that make all the difference. The seats seemed really sticky to the point that we struggled to 'slide' over and we had a child sitting immediately behind us who thought it was a good idea to climb over the seat back onto our side, kicking my daughter in the back in the process! There was a larger booth just a few tables away - why weren't we seated there? (it was later used for a couple??). The service didn't improve when my youngest daughter (she is 16) was asked for ID for an Appletiser - it turns out the server thought she's asked for Apple Cider?? Instead of turning this error into a joke and lightning the atmosphere a little, he just said he found it difficult to hear with the music playing.. No apology for her embarrassment or anything. We repeatedly sat with empty drinks glasses and had to ask for them (first time I've had to that in TGI's as they're usually on the ball). The food was great (as usual) so no complaints there but when it came to the staff bringing a slice of birthday cake over, the first thing our server did was say "what's your name again?" and picked up her ID - they proceeded to sing Happy Birthday in their own unique way and left her with a huge lump of completely stale (& indedible) birthday cake. If this was my first impression of TGI's, I would never go back as the service was absolutely appalling. As it stands, they ruined what was meant to be a special night so I won't be setting foot in that particular branch again - It was a toss up between here and the Hard Rock for her birthday (the past few have been in the Hard Rock so my daughter fancied a change). We ALL very quickly regretted that choice which is a shame as your birthdayis only once a year and our server single handedly ruined hers.
Staff were not very welcoming
Very friendly staff, food hot and attractively served
Very overpriced compared to equivalent restaurants
Fantastic food and cocktails plus friendly and attentive staff made this dining experience very enjoyable, can't wait to come back again.
Our server was fantastic
The music is far too noisy therefore it’s hard to have a conversation with anyone. The waitress that served us wasn’t very welcoming and before our starters came we didn’t even have cutlery on the table which was a quick fix however when our dinner had come we waited a while for the waitress to bring us cutlery again.
Food was not even warm , they did say they would change it but we didn’t have time to wait , was refunded for 1 meal
Overall we were very satisfied with our visit. Server was very attentive and made sure we were well looked after. First time I’ve had fillet steak in TGI’s and was very impressed. Cooked exactly as I ordered and certainly did not leave hungry.
My boyfriend and I booked a table for 7:45 on Saturday night. The girl who sat us at our table couldn’t of been nicer, as for the guy taking our drinks order and the girl serving us. I wish I got their names because they were so nice and deserve to see this review and know how good their service was & I know they might not remember me but I was the girl with the curly blonde hair who laughs a wee bit too loud. U are all very nice people xxxx
Staff friendly and efficient, waiting time for food spot on
Bit of a wait for drinks but food was excellent!
Service, food and full experience was awful. Never offered another drink for table. Had to clear own plates from the table. Food not to the best standard...chicken burger returned as it was like jelly. Wrong starter sent to table as well. We felt totally forgotten about. Manager did remove 25% off of the bill but it was too late as we had all had the worst night. It was a shame as we were looking forward to our meal as catching up with a friend who no longer lives here and unfortunately we were all left disheartened. Definitely would not return.
My family and l love this restaurant whether it is for a few drinks or for a family meal and we recommend this restaurant to family and friends for any occasion
Our server was Ross and his service was perfect. Food quantity seemed more generous than other branches, which was goooood! Only negative was my chicken seemed like a chicken breast that had been cut in half (the thickness). I had a Friday’s Chicken burger. It was thoroughly delicious though!
Due to it being so busy the staff were all great, great welcome, amazing service couldn't have enjoyed the experience more and my mum and brothers and sisters were really impressed as it was their first time at the establishment
Staff were outstanding. Friendly, welcoming and helped arrange a table when we had to eat earlier than we had booked on an already busy night. Went out of there way to look after us!
First waitress forgot my daughters fries Then my son was brought the wrong order then had to wait to get it corrected which ment Myself and my daughter where eating our main course while my son had to wait.
Great meal,friendly atmosphere
A family favourite.
Everything was fine when we arrived, then someone turned the lights down, we could hardly read the menus. Then someone turned up the music, we had to shout to each other across the table. The guy serving had trouble hearing our orders, we had to point on the menu what we wanted to order. NEVER AGAIN....WONT BE BACK. Spoiled the whole meal, could not wait to get out!
Lovely food and although really busy the food didn’t take long to arrive.
Staff very welcoming and the service was great, our whole party enjoyed our food will definitely pay another visit soon!
