Me and my partner were saying how much the food has seem to have got smaller in seconds since the last time we went there
Goods time had by all with good service.
Very friendly staff. Prompt service. Great food.
Nice meal, but no deals on a friday which makes it a little expensive.
My starter was burnt told the waitress who didn’t seem to care
The food often comes a bit overcooked and kind of thrown on the plate but it's generally okay.
We notified the waiting team that we had a birthday in our group (told twice) but nothing ever happened around there, so was slightly disappointed. I also ordered a rare sirloin steak and it came back medium. Luckily, I don't mind medium (it's my threshold) so I did not complain at the time - may have complained if it was well done!
Good food lovely atmosphere but the sodding straws...... who gives you a paper straw!! You need 4 just to drink 1 cocktail.... needs rethinking
I intend to formally complain tomorrow . In short I anticipate receiving a full refund
We went to Tgi's to celebrate my son's 17th birthday, I mentioned this when I booked online. Sadly this was missed by your staff and no mention of his birthday was acknowledged. I told the waitress at the end of the meal, she wished him a happy birthday but that was it. Apart from that we had a lovely evening.
My chicken fajitas were awful. Chicken tasted like rubber. You could tell it was frozen and put straight onto griddle to cook. Chips were cold. Not very happy at all.
All the staff were friendly and helpful and the service and food were all good!
Myself and my wife visited your Reading Oracle restaurant on 24/04/2018 at 7.30pm. We were taken to our table and the waitress came over to take our order, we ordered our drinks, starter and mains and while we were waiting we noticed the table behind us was covered in plates etc. from the last people (this table did not get cleaned the whole time we were there). We received our starter (potato skin sharer) which was a tiny portion and was a bit burnt, we ate this and still hadn’t received our drink so I had to go over to the bar and ask for them. Also while we were eating our starter my wife looked over to the hot pate where the food waits to be served and saw what she thought was my main and said it must have been waiting there for hers to be done, my wife did say she saw a dish sat there also that had a lot of salad on top that was steaming and wondered why it was steaming as it looked to be a salad. We received our drinks and was told that my wife’s drink (porn star Martini) wasn’t quite right as they had run out of one of the particular ingredients, I would have thought we would have been told this before and offered and alternative. We then received our mains and it turned out that the food that had been sat there for over 20 minutes on the hot plate was actually ours and the steaming bowl my wife thought was salad was actually her Cajun chicken pasta, the pasta was dry and rubbery so I told a passing waitress and she went into the kitchen to get another made. We then heard a conversation in the kitchen between the chef and the waitress where the waitress was told by the chef that was the last Cajun chicken pasta and to ask my wife what else she wanted. The waitress refused to ask my wife as in her words ‘its not my table I’m not doing it’ I thought this was absolutely disgusting. We did in the end get offered another choice which my wife was very unhappy about as when she go’s to TGI’s she only eats the Cajun chicken pasta as she loves it so much, so I had to sit there with my food ready waiting for my wife’s replacement meal. While all of this was happening our starter plates still hadn’t been cleared up! My wife didn’t like the replacement dish so I ate it and gave her mine, to be fair the manager did apologise and gave us 2 free drinks and took my wife’s main off the bill but it didn’t take away from the fact that the service was horrendous, there were dirty plates left on the tables (ours included) and the food was bad too. I have been attending your restaurants for years and really like them but this has really put me off going back.
Drinks slightly overpriced, waiter tried to upsell starters and wasn’t discreet about it. When it came time to pay the waiter repeatedly told us our bill was wrong only for us to work it out for him, proving we were paying the correct amount.
The restaurant had ran out of all rose so we had to order the procecco at £22 and the large cocktail was overpriced at over £10. All the staff sang happy birthday to my friend and they brought her out the cake I had taken in with me. Was a really lovely evening.
Witnessed a robbery of a bottle from the top of the bar and overall waiting times weren’t great especially for Nachos, how hard can’t it be to make them?! Felt bad for the American waitress we had as she really tried her best just let down by the rest of the staff.
We had 9 in the party but 3 of the meals we had an issue with. Had to get staff on several occasions as we needed more drinks the food took ages to come. And was Dissapointed in the birthday greeting we got
Menu changes did not go done well with members of my family, also the extra charge on normal cola non refilable understand it’s goverment directives no one in my family have weight or health issues, we should we allowed to make our own choices without being hit with increased cost because other people cannot control themselves.
Great service from our waitress and the food was very nice and came out quickly. A big downpoint was when my Mother in law had 2 bits of sharp blue plastic in her ice cream sundae (one bit what’s very big/sharp and could’ve caused problems if she hadn’t noticed. Would have been awful if a child had swallowed it!) - manager came over and knocked it off bill but was still shocking. The room temperature was also freezing - lots of people were complains about this. It was snowing outside and they had the air conditioning on - madness!
Came for 30th birthday. Staff very miserable. Very slow service. Kept trying yo clear our table when people were still eating / drinking...felt like we were being rushed. We brought in a surprise birthday cake, gave to the waitress when we arrived. After our dinner the waitress asked the birthday girl if she wanted her cake...ruining the surprise
Food we ordered some of it was cold and the ribs and onion rings were over cooked over all the food for the price wasn't good such a shame as it was mothers day and was expecting a good meal.
The food was terrible. Everything was horribly overcooked. Refunded 2 of the meals but every main course was bad (6). I sent my steak back twice. Not difficult to cook a rare steak. Manager said it was down to trainee chefs. Probably not the wisest decision to have only trainee staff in the kitchen on a Friday night. My sister's birthday was ruined. Waitress was a sweet girl. We did have to ask 4 times though for her to bring over a glass of water.
Nice food and drinks. Steak was cooked perfectly. Service was excellent.
Booking online was easy, trying to change the booking was very difficult
