Service was slower than usual. Had to ask twice for mayonnaise and took around 20 minutes to get the drink I had asked for.
Service very slow to start with and we had to ask for one of our drinks which still hadn’t arrived 20 minutes later. Always had to ask for refills on the bottomless drinks. Meals didn’t all come at the same time. Overall disappointing and won’t be rushing back. One of our party was looking forward to a side of Mac n Cheese and was disappointed to find you no longer do this.
A great place to go for a celebration and the original bar is still by far the best.
I had asked for some special things in my reservation. Completely ignored or forgotten. Left waiting at the front 20 mins. Not the way we wanted to spend a special birthday.
I went for a family birthday meal and was so disappointed as I was told I couldn’t claim my free birthday drink as we can the midtown menu! This should state this in big writing as my family took me there and was problem after problem! We asked for baby food which status it’s free and never received it. Our meals was messed up and one dinner had the smallest amount of beans it was hardly any point having them you could count them. My daughter had to wait for 5 minutes after we had our starters for her main which we asked to come out at the same time. So she was sat there with nothing while everyone is eating. I go tgi fridays very often and was shocked at the mayhem as the places was basically empty so what a nightmare for my birthday .
The table we sat at had loads of food under it and the seats were all sticky , when we were seated the table it had cleaning box on it and 4 tables were all empty but full of dirty finished plates of food and glasses. As this was a special occasion sons 18th family meal it was very disappointing.
Lovely friendly staff and food is as always immense!! It’s always a bit of a wait to get a table if you don’t book so always book, but once you’re in it’s the best! By far our favourite place to eat out
Service was very slow (due to lack of staff as explained by manager) but food was great
We come to reading quite alot we found yesterday the service was very very slow on food even our drinks you brought 1 over then we was waiting for half an hour for the rest of the drinks not normally this slow as we was a table of 8 we thought this was very poor we had 2 ask a couple of times if our drinks was coming and the restaurant wasn't that busy not like it normally is hopefully next time the service will be better like usual
Food and service was terrible. Starters were barely warm, and there was only 4 instead of 6 and the main courses when served were cold. I was handed a hot plate across the table with no warning from the server before I touched it, causing some discomfort. The manager we spoke to suggested they had ‘new staff’ on and that there was ‘a rush in the kitchen’. The place was half empty at 16:45 when we sat down. This was a meal for 6, and we ended up leaving without paying a penny. Never again will we eat at TGI’s Reading, utterly disgusting experience from beginning to end.
Service was awful waited for half an hour to take our food order. Warrior chips were missing after food was delivered, childs chips were covered in salt and pepper although when returned they did replace. Really liked the fun of shouting through the restaurant and asking other eaters to join in and sing happy birthday.
Venue cold, asked to be reseated away from door which wasn’t a problem but still a breeze throughout the venue. Great with allergies :)
Limited space in our designated eating area so we had to pass our own meals down the table. Slow to offer desert menus. Entire food service was slow. We cleared our own empty plates away as they weren't taken when we placed desert orders. Ordered kids milkshakes after we had ordered main meals and these took a really long time to come. Dirty washroom facilities. I liked that you sang for my daughter's 5th Birthday and provided her with a slice of cake which she devoured!
The service was amazing our server was attentive but not over bearing and although incredibly busy never kept us waiting, unfortunately he was let down somewhat but the chefs and bar tenders, we ordered a porn star martini but were actually served a strawberry daiquiri ( same glass very different taste) fortunately I like both so drank it anyway. With the food the starters were fast to arrive and delicious, as were the main courses although the fajitas seemed to have the peppers and onions bulked out with the seasonal vegetables usually served with the steak butternut squash is not normally found in a Mexican fajita. It was when we came to pudding that we encountered quality control issues the popcorn brownie sundae came out fast and delicious, four others at the table had chosen the super thick shakes the birthday cake ones despite being told there was no strawberry sauce were delicious the Cookie Monster Ines in the other hand were unpleasant, there was no Oreo in the milkshakes and the pieces of cookie dough that should have adorned the ‘mouth’ of the Cookie Monster were replaced by balls of marzipan and marzipan was the over riding flavour of the whole shake, neither person who ordered it were able to consume it as marzipan and Oreo are totally different, and marzipan does not make a good exchange. Maybe the chefs just need to be given a bit of extra training, I guess it was due to it being a busy Friday but I would rather be told that the items were not available, quite frankly we had all eaten more than enough so we didn’t need the puddings anyway than have a sub standard one offered. Over alll we had a good experience that all my children loved I think this was due to the brilliant front of house team that we encountered I wish I had managed to get the waiters name so you were aware of them and their great work ethic and enthusiasm
Much better than usual . Only go because the kids like it
The ladies who served us were very friendly and quick service, thank you
We would have rated more poorly but for the excellent and enthusiastic service from the waitress. One of our party ordered salmon and it came out very overcooked with squashed lumpy mash potatoes and limp looking vegetables. However, the waitress took it back and replaced with a very nice steak meal and with no fuss.
Brilliant food, drink and service - my favourite place to go! Only 1 thing I would say, our parents thought the music was a little too loud but otherwise it was lovely thank you 😊
I have to say we had a lovely time food was nice service was very good..... but it’s very pricey ....
Really impressed with everything
This is the e-mail I sent 30 mins after my visit. Hi, Feed back on tonights visit. It was rather disappointing. Service was very slow and our drinks arrived 30 mins after we arrived. Our food arrived just over an hour after we arrived and it was dry like it had been hanging around. The waitress was friendly but clearly had too much to do. Shame. Lovely restaurant, under staffed. We would have struggled to vacate by the time in the email as our food had only just arrived by then. We wanted more drinks but there didn't seem any point asking seeing as they took so long. We would have wanted a dessert too. Didn't have time. :o( Steve
We visited this branch for a football meal based on mainly 16 year olds. The lead house manager not sure of her name, but she was excellent in resolving our overbooking. The website only allowed me to pre-book 8 people but in the comments I added there would be 2-4 more to be added so our table was not big enough. After moving tables twice, she found us a suitable table and really went out of her way to help. Brilliant patient table service by her and the team. The lady had dark hair but was a credit to TGI. Thank you!
Excelent food Good prices Amazing service . Very helpfull
The service could have been better only because staff are so busy.We had a very enjoyable time ..staff did the birthday thing for our daughter it was great.Food was nice .
The bar service was terrible and slow had to wait 20 minutes for drinks and it was not even busy at that time I ordered a refill of diet coke but never got it as our two hours was up but they was quick enough to bring the bill though.
