The waitress was very attentive, it was busy but she had time to look after us. The service she gave made the evening
We had a great time as always. We were a bit demanding party but were served very well. Thanks to the server we had.
Great staff and atmosphere!
It felt like we were in a club not a restaurant. The music was far too loud and I was having to shout. Service not very fast.
The food and drink are excellent as usual. Our waitress was fantastic, but it’s clear that your staff are over-stretched. There aren’t enough people to serve the number of people who walk through the door, and this shows from the fact that 60% of the restaurant area is closed, and everyone is shoved into a small section. As a result, we ended up having a few fewer drinks than we would have. Putting on extra staff would go a long way to pleasing your guests, and wouldn’t really cost any more, as people who get served quickly would spend more.
We arrived for our meal at 5.15pm, 10 of us for my daughters 15tj birthday, she was very excited to be going to tgi for the party atmosphere, we were not served drinks for 30 mins, starters to over a hour, and were wrong, it took over 3 hours to complete a 3 course meal and no birthday cake and celebration song for my daughter, we were very upset and made a complaint to the manager.
Very tasty ribs!
The lady who served yesterday was brilliant, but the food was very slow in coming out. Had to ask twice for a drinks, it wasn't overly busy in there either. Other than that can't complain
Service was shockingly bad, waited 20 mins at bat for drinks. and 40 mins for drinks at table, had booked a table and pre- ordered food one meal wasn;t sent out at all. waitress seemed more interested in having a chat with the bar staff, we weren't the only ones waiting ages for drinks.
Service broke down for some unknown reason. We were the second table to be seated that day so it was very quiet on arrival. Took 50 minutes to get food. Shakes took 45 minutes to arrive. Food order was wrong twice and had to be replaced. We didn't complain, but the waiter came over anyway and offered 25% off the bill. The food (when it arrived!) was actually nice. It was our daughter's birthday and they had put balloons on the table but didn't do birthday cake.. not an expectation, but other children on nearby tables did get birthday and a song, so not sure why our child missed out. Not our usual experience of TGIs, but might try a different branch next time.
It was my daughters 6th birthday which I advised when booking the table. On arrival our table wasnt ready, we had to wait 10mins to be seated. Someone asked if we were celebrating anything which we said we were and the gentleman said he would get some balloons sorted. When we were shown to the table we waited a good while before someone came to take our drink order and then waited 20mins to them to come! We ordered our food and waiting a whole hour for that to arrive, also had to check what was going on with it. My daughters birthday was completely overlooked even though I asked the gentleman that originally said again and still nothing. My daughter asked if she could have one at the end. Very disappointed :(
Food was cold steak was rare we asked for medium ruined our whole night!! Luckily the waitress did not make us pay for the food and offered us a free drink but still very disappointed and won’t be coming back
Waited 1 hour for a starter
Booked a table for 7pm got food at 8,45 pm ,music to loud not such a good menu as it used to be ,wasnt busy in there but had to wait ages to get a drink or food.Definitely going down hill.
We booked a table for 5.15 but when we arrived we waited 3-4 mins before anybody greeted us to be told our table wasnt ready and we would need to wait despite lots of empty tables in the restaurant. When we were eventually shown to our table we were told who our waitress was & that she would be over to take a drinks order, 15 mins passed with no sign of anybody & arriving, and when she did arrive it was to tell us that she would be back in a couple of minutes but didnt come back for a further 5/10 mins. The reason for our visit was for our grandsons 6th birthday and by the time we eventually placed our order it was 45 mins from the time we arrived at the restaurant. We have had similar experiences at the Caversham branch before and unfortunately it doesnt appear to be an isolated case. We are frequent users of TGI and use your reward app and we feel our grandsons celebration was spoilt as a 6yr old and a 3 yr old find it difficult waiting 45 mins for a drink let alone food.
The staff were very thin on the ground and it took a while to get attention for more drinks (we went to find someone in the end as no one at the bar either) and when asking for sauces at the table they never arrived until we asked another waitress for some...but that was it...the food was delicious and the staff when around were great, they did a big announcement for my 7 year old son for his birthday which he loved, we go yearly for his birthday and will be back next year again
Ideal place for our daughters birthday with all the family, staff fun and helpful and food was great.
My little girls food was black how burnt it was I wasn’t changed for it but still not something u want mine and my partners food was both cold the coke that I payed 3 pound for tasted of water this is not the first time iv had a bad experience here don’t think I’ll be going back I’m sure for a bill of 68 pound I could get better somewhere els
Service was great very helpful and the meal was good
Our 6 year old enjoyed himself
We visited on Sunday 11th November, restaurant was not overly busy and we had booked but the staff were quite literally running around, the first table we sat at was so cold we moved due to the door being open. (Not a good start) Ordered 2 Peronis and 2 diet cokes to find out 15 minutes after the cokes arrived that they had no peroni. 10 more mins for our below average Budweiser. As soon as the beer arrived we were then surrounded by fruit flies, having worked in a bar previously I can honestly say I’ve never seen so many in the winter months. Starters were overpriced and Luke warm. (Sharing potato skins) nothing special for the price paid. Mains were the only good part of the meal, disappointed with the service, not really the waitresses fault as she was clearly going as fast as she could, however in doing So attention to detail was lost numerous times, £110 for 4 people! Outrageously overpriced for what you get (this price was without any deserts and 2 beers) This falls into a higher bracket of restaurant that quite frankly TGI does not even come close too. Recommendations, make the price more competitive and organise/train your staff better, Having been to other TGIs in the past this, Caversham Road was by far the worst
It started off badly as it was ssooo cold where we was sat. We asked to move but No. in the end they turned the heating on. We wasn’t the only one who complained about this.
Booked a month before for 18th asked for balloons etc was stuck on a table in the back by the end of fire exit .we ended up moving seat ouself to the booth area to try and get some ambience. Arrived for 8 ordered drinks they took 45 mins was a poor experience to be fair and have been there years ago with no complaints ....
Service was very poor waited nearly 30 mins after food arrived for some sauces to turn up at which point food was getting cold we had ordered drinks which eventually turned up but some where missing st which point when we where asked for more drinks we still hadn’t received one of them so we just asked for the bill instead of dessert
Terrible!! We booked for my daughter’s birthday meal and your unique selling product was forgotten, though I specified at booking and when we arrived. After sitting down, it took 30mins to get a menu and order drinks which then took another 20mins!!!
