Love this place.
Service was slow and not responsive to out requests.
We ordered 2 x steak, ribs and shrimp. Both steaks were very tough. Both ribs were not just BBQ'd they were cremated.
There wasn’t a lot staff around only a small amount
I spent £179 and the service was excellent BUT the air con was broken!! Very hot and I comfortable ☹️ Didn’t seem to be enough staff on - they were fab but not enough so ended up having to go and wait for the bar - having to ask for top ups etc. Please don’t blame the staff - they were really busy but rushing around trying to serve everyone! We love this restaurant but it’s service could be better .
Fantastic food! Great Service!
Food was ok but not worth the price. Over priced for the standard and portion size
Food was good however drinks were very poor. We all had a gin and lemonade each, the drink came very flat so we complained and were given a new set of drinks. However the drinks were just as flat second time round. Very poor.
Our order was wrong, service slow, no cutlery etc. Unenthusiastic waitress, for whom everything was too much trouble. The manager gave us 50% off food as an apology.
Great atmosphere and lovely food 10/10
My only complaint is music a little too loud
Food was average. Service was good. Disappointed you had no de caff coffee in a place like yours. Value was ok.
Very polite and knowledgeable staff
We really enjoyed the food the service was excellent and very friendly staff.
Very happy with the great service - thank you.
The service was brilliant and the staff went out of there way to make it a memorable meal for my daughter birthday
Never brought partners main meal out and said to the waitress when she asked if there was anything else I said no just his meal and she never let on there wasn’t another meal coming out. Then had to say to another waiter that partner hadn’t received his main meal to him then going to check with kitchen and it had been forgotten about- rest of family was half way through meal the time he got his. Expected maybe to get the drinks or something for free but nothing so unfortunately I never left any tip. Prob won’t be back in a rush even though kids did enjoy the meal.
One of our steak’s got served cold, so we told the waitress. A few minutes later, she came back with the same, partly eaten steak and said “we’ve heated it up for you”. It was then very tough. Not sure why we weren’t given a newly cooked one...
Great meal and friendly staff first rate
The service was outstanding. Many thanks to the team at the Gate TGI Fridays!
Amazing food however let down slightly by the service and atmosphere. When making the booking we were told they would make a fuss over my friend (for her hen party). We didn't request this however after being offered it, we looked forward to it so we were disappointed when it didn't happen at all. Also we were running late due to our bus down from Scotland and I called to let them know which they said was fine however when we arrived, and despite the restaurant being almost empty, they commented on us being late.
very good food
Steak was quite chewy Atmosphere was quite bad. TGIs is meant to be quite lively and I’ve been to others and it just was not the same here. Felt as though there wasn’t much staff on so service was very slow for us to order. I ordered a frozen cocktail and it melted as soon as I took it to my table which I think is because they used a warm glass for it. Not very good
Our table was near main door which was often open. There was a constant cold draft and the smell of smoke from people smoking outside the main doors of the Gate. Although food and service were great, this really took the shine of our dining experience which we don’t often do.
TGI Fridays in the UK are just not up to par when compared with most other places. The food seems to be consistent, just consistently lower calibre. We go knowing what to expect, and it works for us when we want a quick meal. It is cheap, but the value just isn't there. If they knocked £2 off of everything and repriced drinks, they would be more honestly positioned. Still better than the average Brit pub though. As far as atmosphere, they need to spread the tables out more. There are unused tables elsewhere, but they cram people into that tiny front area.... presumably to make it easier on the waiters/waitresses. Space! Spread em out! The service was great on our last visit though - really have to commend the guy for that. Top notch.. The waiter really helped me keep my two young girls happy and provided just the right amount of presence. Left him a small tip for this reason. Thanks again (I forgot your name... sorry!)
