No one was there to greet us, had to wait a long time by the door, I had to walk inside and ask a random member of staff. When the food arrived there was next to no sauce with the alfredo pasta, had to ask for more sauce but no more was added which we had to wait for another 20 minutes.
Great service from Noami and Robbin over the phone tolu great waiter
Had to wait a long time for drinks. Had to ask for straws for cocktails. One meal had to be chased (15 min later than rest of our party)and fork/knife not given. Wanted to clear the table before we’d all finished eating. Before we finished desert we were asked if we wanted the bill. We may have wanted coffees...? It was for a birthday and we were made to feel rushed when the delay was due to delay in drinks and getting all meals. I had pre-booked and didn’t expect to be treated like we were on a conveyer belt. A real shame as the food was good.
Waitresses were lovely but the food took a while to come out with around 40minutes between each course. Also two puddings were forgotten so came 15 minutes later than everyone else’s.
Really good quality food. Really pleased we chose to come to TGi for my daughters bithday meal. Kids ate loads, adults ate loads, got a massive complimentary slice of birthday cake that we all shared. Deserts were delicious. Only criticism I could possible think of is the restaurant is looking tired. Could do with a refurb.
TGI Fridays used to be a favorite "go to" of mine. Don't quite know what you fancy? Head to TGIs, the meats and the sauces and the service combined was enough to have a decent night. Worst case scenario - you'd get some pretty decent cocktails in a place with some good vibes and leave feeling full. Nonetheless, our visit to TGIs in kingston was poor. Despite nothing specifically going horrifcally "wrong", I felt that there's been a remarkable change in the way TGIs is. Firstly we sat down at an extremely sticky bar that smelt quite funny for a couple of cocktails that cost £10 each and tasted 'OK'. Then, we sat down for a meal where our sever was someone who was clearly putting on a forced Texan accent. He wasn't a bad server though - just a little bit "too" cheesy. The meal came out. It was distincly average. We both had wings to start (overpriced at best) and then I had the shrimp, chicken, and steak combo. My wife had the sesame chicken strips. Chicken strips were good, but honestly the shrimp chicken and steak left a lot to be desired. Firstly, the chicken looked old, thin, and like it had just been put in a microwave. The steak was chewwy and fatty and not the kind of stake you'd expect from somewhere that prides themselves on the steak. The prawns were tiny, and used an abundance of batter to make up for it. The chips were served in a tiny basket. Not a great meal.... Topped off with that, twoof the margarita cocktails that we paid for were so salty that we couldn't drink them. All in all - not worth the circa £85 we paid that night and despite being a regular face - we wont be heading back there any time soon.
Our waiter was great nothing to much for him
Food was terrible, we had to wait nearly hour and a half before we even got starters and they came out wrong, kids were meant to have their mains with the starters 3 meals came but the 4th didn’t come out we had to ask for it and they went and got it so must have just been sitting on the side. A further hour wait for the mains and we had 2 burgers come with frozen buns, cold pasta and medium rare steak that was charcole colour and tough and chewy. The lady serving us was great but was completely let down by kitchen and bar. The restaurant wasn’t even overally busy so not sure what the wait was for. We will not be using this branch again.
It is with regret that this was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I booked this for 20 people for my daughters 18th birthday, when we arrived they had run out of numerous drinks that we wanted and the bar was very slow, the table was booked for 7 and we were seated shortly after,we all ordered the Xmas 3 course menu, the first course came up a hour and a half later and had obviously been reheated. Our main course turned up about 9.45 only after I spoke to the manager enquiring about our meals. It was well after10 when we finished the second course by this time everyone was getting very frustrated with the service we were receiving, my daughter in th meantime was really upset because the night was turning into a disaster. At this stage everyone decided we had put up with enough and did not want the desert and we would leave it was now gone 10.30. After discussing my dissatisfaction with the service we were receiving he gave me a discount on the bill, this was no way satisfactory because it ruined my daughterers 18th birthday which should have been a special night. I will not be going back to this restaurant and would not recommend to anybody, with the powers of social media nowadays you would think they would get thing right. I would just like to add the restaurant was not even buisy and there was no explanation given as to why everything took so long.
Very good meal. We were well looked after and enjoyed our evening
Server called Laura was very attentive and welcoming, food was nice but very over priced for a Monday night a bill of £118 with two soft drinks each is very expensive. I would like to add when asking for no ice in a soft drink the glass size was halved which i thought was very disappointing
Service was very good, unfortunately that was the only positive. Very dark lighting over our table of 7! Food was hot but that was it, tasted like frozen convenience food! Chicken fajitas were horrible, the chicken tasted processed! Was all just plastic food, all tasted the same. Won’t be going back. Our waitress was lovely & made it a better experience!
Our server Rajeev R was excellent
Great evening for family birthday, our host made sure that we were happy with our food and that are drinks were topped up through out our time there!
We was served by Laura P how kindly met our every need! Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well and had to leave soon, however Laura understood and it wasn't a problem and still had us as a priority. Small touches like a 'thank you' with a smiley face on the bill was nice! Would 100% come back just for the lovely service!!
Food was lovely. Atmosphere has been better.
I had a very pleasant experience but was shocked to find out that 80% of the Tips (Electronic Gratitude) are deducted from front of the house staff. I am usually a generous tipper however the servers who provide the excellent service seems to not be rewarded.
Generally really like this particular location. The biggest downside of my last reservation was I requested a booth and I was sat at a table.
Booking service was great. Nearest is really Croydon but can never get booked in there so will come here next time...nicer shops nearby too. The waiteress was great but the food was a bit slow. We weren't in a rush so wasn't a big deal on this occasion but when you have children at the meal they can start to get a bored. Food quality was great.
Service was excellent, will definitely be back !!
1 hour 45 mins for main meal to arrive. Absolute disgrace. I was given 30 % discount to compensate. This was my first visit to TGI's ever. Not sure yet if it will be my last.
The TGI app is very useful and accessible which is really helpful for deciding where and when to eat and the rewards for scanning receipts on the app.
Booked online and had it confirmed but it never reached the restaurant so had to wait for a table to be set up. Paid £20 for steak and chips which was burnt and chewy instead of medium rare and all other food took far too long to arrive and then was only luke warm and poor quality. To be fair I didn’t complain in the evening as it was birthday celebration and didn’t want to make a fuss and we had already waited far too long. Only plus was the waitress was lovely but other than that expensive and poor quality food.
