Our table was booked for 1230. We waited 1.5 hours for our food to arrive. The service was very slow. Others who arrived after us were served before us. One of our party had cold food but had waited so long he just ate it. This was for my sons 18th birthday and I felt very let down and upset that his special meal was spoilt. That special occasion cannot be replaced.
The food portion is terrible for what I paid for. The chips was overcooked and for £21 main meal, I expected more food. Probably will not come back here again. The lady who served us was the only good thing as she was so nice.
Our service was great at the Guildford branch last night 13/10/18, our waiter James was efficient.
Great food service and atmosphere. Only let down was the passageway had no lights leading to the toilets. The toilets were filthy with majority of the toilet seats broken or insecure but seriously no toilet paper !!!!
Food was average. Service for the first hour was awful. Took an hour to get drinks. Food was horribly presented. Very very poor. The only good thing was the young lady (holly) that took over the table service after the first hour, she tried her best but she spent her whole evening apologising, you could tell she was embarrassed.
Came here for a special occasion and booked a table for 13 people. Had lots of issues from the start. The staff did what they could but were extremely short staffed and so constant mistakes were being made. The food took around an hour to bring out the mains after the starters and overall very slow considering it wasn’t that busy. If I had known the service would’ve been so bad I would’ve gone elsewhere. I can appreciate it was a Saturday night but if I book a table I would expect at least a check back on the food to make sure everything was okay (it definitely wasn’t!)
Amazing food, good service, will be back!
Very good service; friendly, helpful, prompt. We came for my son’s bday and he was given balloons & cake and had everyone sing to him, which he loved. All of my children cleared their plates! Thank you
Nice relaxed meal for our 3 year olds birthday tea-all 4 kids enjoyed their meal, as did we!
what a disappointing evening for my daughters birthday we waited a good 5 minutes in an empty restaurant to be seated there was a balloon hat on the table for the birthday girl but with two young granddaughters a fight soon occurred there was another hat much smaller a frog made up on the desk as we walked in and i quietly asked our waitress if we could have the frog to stop world war one breaking out she snapped at me and said i haven't got time for that. we ordered our starters and then waited some 45 minutes for our starters to arrive which were fine when they came but one was missing my sons the waiter said to him sorry you will have to wait longer i didn't like the look of it when it came out we had all finished when his starter arrived. we then waited some considerable time for our main courses when mine arrived the chicken club sandwich the chicken was cold the chips were so overdone you could not eat them they were rock hards i did complain and my meal main course only was taken off the bill but i was not prepared to wait another 20 minutes for my meal also there was no real apology eventually after another long wait we were asked if we wanted desert by then i had given up and we got the bill there was no slice of cake and sparkler for the birthday girl has this been stopped ? again i had to chase a waiter round the restaurant to pay the bill all in all it was a total waste of money for 7 adults and two very bored and fed up little ones incidentally i asked if there was colouring for the little ones and i was told NO
amy was amazing
Service was very good even though they'd had the day from hell. Food was alright, not a fan of the paper straws.
Server was grear and dealt with all problems to the best of his ability, but even starters took 45 minutes to arrive, every dish was wrong in some way and quality was awful - nachos burned on one hald nothing on other, new chicken sandwich missing chees and no garlic also wrong fries deliveredfor both kids and adult menus - chili beef fries missing chili beef, food cold and tasteless, and finally no activity pack for the 5 year old that waited 45 minutes for some plain nachos - what has happened to you guys? This used to be a good tgi's :(
Good menu choice and a friendly atmosphere
The cocktails were great! The service was painfully slow- 2 hours for 2 courses- but we were fortunate to have a very charismatic and charming waiter who kept us laughing and really did his best. The starters were fine, but the mains were so dire that we didn't bother with dessert.
There were lots of birthdays being celebrated and the staff were constantly being pulled to go and sing to them or do the clapping thing! Does it really require 6 staff to do that!? Our starters arrived before our drinks and we waited a long time to pay the bill and leave! Food was good though, thanks.
James was incredible, really passionate, you're quite lucky to have him. Other customers were loud and rude, 2 females to our left had some rather foul language. One of the servers got our order wrong & questioned me when I very politely pointed it out, however he did fix it for us without too much of a problem. Again, James was really good (I work for a luxury retailer in the HR department & that's what I look for in new staff).
The service was excellent best service I’ve had from any TGI Fridays, I didn’t get the waiters name but he was a lovely guy and recommend a dish I never tried and was one of the best I’ve had at TGI’s!
Great staff, great service, great food. Ty for making my daughters 18th a great day
The restaurant was very understaffed and they didn't have the food available that we wanted to order (although we were not told this at time of order but a long time afterwards). Then when we did order, they got the order wrong. By this time I was ready to go home but the manager spoke to us and rectified the situation immediately. The staff are always friendly here and we come here a lot so I'm hoping this is a one off. There is normally a long wait for food but never with the excessive problems from this visit. I will go back as it is one of my families favourite restaurants and I would still recommend TGI. I would however recommend not using the toilets, they are grim. They have been for years and despite numerous complaints (staff told us there were always complaints) nothing is done about them.
Our waiter was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble
Very surprised with Guildford tgi’s I wonder if it is in financial difficulties the place is shabby , food portions small much smaller than normal tgi’s , toilets were filthy and they were short of cutlery . Kids chasing each other around the restaurant screaming ( not the servers fault) but the parents did not stop the kids from doing this. Terrible experience I won’t be revisiting .
We had a lovely waitor called Aaron, he was very friendly and was great with our son who's 5. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He even made him a sword balloon at the end. Things were a little slow, but it was very busy and that was to be expected as it was a Saturday evening hence the reason we booked in advance.
Manager was amazing with helping on food allergies advice as had two children that was serverly allergic to nuts with me. How ever service by waitresses was so slow and unwelcoming. Numerous occasions I asked for children’s menus and finally got them 20 mins after being in the restaurant, gave up waiting to order deserts as had to wait too long. This was also at a time the restaurant wasn’t extremely busy .
Was seated next to a very loud table, moved ourselves as no staff around to ask, waiting over 1 hour for our food then when it came you coukd tell it has been waiting awhile to come out, salad was warm!!! Toilets disgusting and baby changing unit was so high was difficult to change my baby
