We have always celebrated birthdays and occasions at TGI's but never again. We came in August for my birthday and it was ok...a steak was barely cooked (not the med well done requested) and service non existent, but we returned for my son's 17th Birthday on Friday night. Our waitress was useless, making herself look oh so busy but never actually doing anything, just rushing around then straight back behind the cooking area where we could clearly see them all just standing around chatting. Every one of our 4 meals were either completely cold or barely warm. The ribs were slightly warm on top but the underneath was stone cold, as was my mums steak. The corn was cold, hard, burnt on the edges and like biting thru cardboard. Plus we waited forever for the food even though the restaurant was not particularly busy. We did complain, and at the start of our meal so as to be able to prove how cold the food was. They offered to take it and recook but my son especially was so hungry after a long day rugby training and college that we just ate what we had. We then sat for an embarassing amount of time waiting for our dirty plates to be cleared - and the same again with dessert plates, having to go find someone to request our bill. Our bill was reduced but was most certainly not remotely worth the £80 we still paid, as even the coffees we had were only just barely warm (the main machine broken so only standard available). After this we won't be returning for a very long time, if at all which is sad because it has become tradition to come to TGI's for celebrations since I celebrated my 21st in a TGI's in Michigan, USA many years ago. As soon as they opened in UK we were regulars, though the service in particular has gradually dropped in recent years. Where the staff would all be happy, chatty and so helpful and come together to sing happy birthday, now, even though you've stated a birthday or anniversary on the booking, its not even mentioned .....
Lovely food and nice and quiet for a Saturday night.
food was great but service was slow. We were in there a total of 3 hours and the place wasn't very busy. I deliberately booked it at an early time so we would be home quite early for the kids but that wasn't the case.
Been coming here for years, sometimes get forgotten about when in conservatory side...notice the potion sizes are getting much smaller and price rising old menu puddings dirt cake was a favourite never been back on menu..
Poor service, poor food, poor timings, dead atmosphere, not a good visit
Service was amazing, food wasn’t which was a shame and was very overpriced. Sorry TGI but probably won’t be back.
Need to bring back dirt cake pudding 😋
Great food and service
Good food, good service.
I had an amazing time at tgi for my birthday , I had balloons on the table when I arrived and a candle in my cake and got sung to by the fab staff . Food was lovely as always . Thank you
Good, clean restaurant, exceptionally helpful and friendly staff who made us very comfortable and they were great with my 16 month granddaughter. Can't fault them
The staff were lovely to my daughter whose birthday we were celebrating. They were also very thorough with regard to my son's allergies (to the extent they were trying to talk him out of eating most things!). However, the salmon i ordered was awful, small and overcooked with horrible mash potato for £17. I sent the meal back and was told the potaro is frozen mash that is heated in a mictowave!! Why can't they cook a decent size salmon fillet & serve with the same fries they serve the meat with? The Texan steak and ribs were great but at £25 each, they should have been! My daughter loves the chicken fingers but, again, the value isn't great - basically £12 for chicken goujons and chips! The sundaes were good and coffee was decent. The restaurant was practically empty, but I'm not surprised as there are so many better alternatives. Its a shame that TGI have gone down hill as I remember them being much better in the past. The staff were lovely and helped create a better atmosphere despite the lack of other guests! I must say that I wasn't charged for my replacement meal (which was good as it wasn't very nice!) so at least they were fair. I still feel disappointed as I had been looking forward to a great birthday meal.
Had a great afternoon
service was good apart from part of my husbands food was missing and we had to ask for it
We had a great time here for my daughter's birthday! Emma really looked after us
Our server, think his name was Ben, was fab. Happy, helpful, thoughtful. Thank you
Everything was great our waitress Georgia was very friendly
Not eaten at TGIs for a very long time. Came with my 2 children. Staff were amazingly helpful. It was a shame that there were hardly any customers so it felt very empty. Overall it more expensive than what we spent in pizza hut the week before for very similar choices.
Food was amazing, love the sesame chicken strips they do here
Great food and great service as usual!
Amazing experience, table decorated on arrival including a big balloon hat and a light up box. Team really friendly and all the team did a birthday song. It was really appreciated. Such a lovely experience.
When booking g asked for special dietary requirements of one of our part (diabetic) - and this was well catered for - really good service and felt well looked after
Great food and service
Took a while to be served, plates cleared away etc.
