Service was painfully slow, (apparently due to the smoke alarms going off in the kitchen, or so we were told!) The restaurant was freezing cold so we had to sit in our coats and the food at best, was mediocre and overpriced by a mile. It took nearly 20min to place a drinks order, 25 min for drinks to arrive, and a further HOUR for the food to arrive without the promised updates. Her birthday was ignored by the staff despite mentioning it on the booking (other patrons had their birthday celebrated)! Finally it took less than 5min for you to bring the bill of £130 and ask for a gratuity! Shockingly bad! You should be ashamed of yourselves!
I booked the table at 15:20 for 18:00. My daughter arrived ahead of me at 17:50 and was told due to a gas problem over 3 hours prior there was a delay of 30-45 minutes. I arrived at 18:05 and was told the restaurant had tried to contact me but my phone went to voicemail. My battery died at 17:30 so they must have called after this time. When I asked at 18:15 how much longer I was told at least 30 minutes. Clearly the times were not adding up. So I left. I was annoyed as when I made the booking the gas problem would have been known. There were no apologises or suggestions of what we could do. I had 5 children with me most were young so the indefinite waiting was not acceptable.
Mediocre fast food, the only thing that made it an enjoyable experience was the staff .
The food was great, it was a busy Friday evening but I’ve seen busier. We had to wait ages for our drinks, some we ordered together and came out one by one over the space of 20 minuets. This was our second order, the first drinks order 2 of the party waited ages for there drinks and had to remind our waiter we were still waiting. Only 3 were cocktails the others were cokes so required so effort to make them, so that was a little annoying. The evening was lovely & everyone enjoyed there meal but the speed of the service or bringing drinks after ordering should be looked at.
Our waiter Luke was great and on point and made our evening run as smoothly as possible - He made my daughter’s birthday dinner a great one. All the best to him - he’s great at what he does. 👌💯%
Security presence makes going into the Croydon restaurant a scary proposition, the waiting area is too small and confined. Waited 20 mins for the table and when we got there it wasn’t really ready. Food took too long as did the drink, but the service was good and the atmosphere was better, it’s why u go. I love the brand but it ain’t what it used to be and that’s sad
Starters never arrived and the server explained that these had not been prepared whilst he served us our main meals...it took 1 hour 5 minutes to receive our food
Great night! 👍🏼
Very friendly and attentive waiter
Food came out was cold and we didn't enjoy it
We had an awful time at TGI’s- I have never waited so long to be served; we arrived at 4:30 and left at 7pm! Food was missed off the order, errors continually made - would not return again.
The waitress that served us gave excellent service HOWEVER!! We waited over 1 1/2 hours for our food. Didn’t complain at the time as the waitress was doing such a good job but all in all the wait was not acceptable
Lovely food and good service. Did try to rush us a bit with the main being brought to the table before we finished the starter.
Both my wife and daughter are celiac, therefore chose from the gluten free menu. The manager came to take this part of the order. Eventually after a relatively long wait the starters arrived. My wife and daughter were to share tortillas. This was served and then within minutes an attempt was made to serve my daughters main meal of burger and chips. She had only just begun to eat the starter and to make matters worse the meal wasn’t gluten free as the burger was served in a normal bun. It was quickly taken away and I requested her main meal be brought out with the rest of ours after we had eaten the starter. After another long wait, our mains arrived which included my wife’s gluten free meal, however our daughters burger and fries didn’t. I have it a few minutes then called the manager over who informed us her meal would be out shortly. After another 10 minutes another waitress arrived with a portion of fries, and explained the burger would be here soon. !! This was not acceptable at all. Eventually when most of us had finished our meal, my daughters gluten free burger and fries finally arrived. We had sat down at 7pm and she was finally eating her dinner at 8.20pm! .. The staff were apologetic and I got a discount off the bill but will never return. For my wife and daughter it is difficult at times to find places to eat due to being celiac and at times they often feel quite alienated. The whole situation was made worse by the lack of efficient service and delivery of a meal for 4 , so we could all eat together. If you are going to do gluten free then do it properly!
Waited 15 mintues to be served, then waited over half an hour for drinks. They didnt have a drink i wanted so i had to wait even longer. My boyfriends starter came out before i even got my drink because they forgot! They messed up the food order as well. Ended up getting a refund for food as burgers were so dry! Awful service, so slow. Will not be going back. Wasnt even that busy for how slow they were.
One of the worst TGI Fridays I have ever been to. After having booked online for my little boys 2nd birthday, we arrived to be told we may have to wait as our waitress was not yet available. Booked a table for 2 toddlers in high chairs who were both squashed onto the end of the table. When we asked to move no one would help us so we took it upon ourselves to move and were then told we could not sit at that table because there was no service in that part of the restaurant. My partner then overheard the waitress who booked us in to be seated being rude about us and talking to her colleague about us, after which we decided to leave and go somewhere else. Absolutely awful restaurant, would not recommend. Lucky there was a Frankie & Bennies up the road where the service was fantastic!
The burger is burnt on my step daughters birthday the drinks never came had to make do with water only to be told there was no banana milkshake who was not great at all although the waitress and the manager tried their best to accommodate for this won't be going again personally
Food waiting times were very long. Couldn’t get the drinks I wanted from the menu as the alcohol was not available, which was frustrating. Service was good.
Ate at TGI’s Croydon Purley Way on the 10/09/18. Service was basically nonexistent Food was very poor not cooked properly & cold (probably down to the service being nonexistent) all in all a bad experience from start to finish!!!! #fix up
Me and my manager chose tgi’s For our celebration of receiving an outstanding OFSTED inspection for 19 of our staff member. We then had to wait for over an hour for each corse and then for the food to come and either be cold or unedable. The service and waiter (Luke) was amazing and really tried his best to lift our spirits but the overall waiting time and poor food was pretty shocking.
I will never visit another TGI restaurant again, always use to take my children when younger 20yrs ago, loved it, visited covent garden branch, last month, terrible food, visited Croydon branch Monday, dead rat in car park, waited ages for food, burgers turned up burnt and dry, manager didn't charge for burgers.Rightly so, Staff are great I might add
We reálly enjoyed ourselves. Luke was very friendly and his customer service was expectional. The food was delicious.
Service took very long , drinks were bland no alcohol. Received food after an hour. Very slow atmosphere
The waiter we had was very un ethusiastic, we waited a while for the food and the coke was so diluted that it tasted just of water. A couple of problems with the food as some of the onion rings were burnt and our meals didn’t come with corn as stated on the menu. The food was otherwise delicious but the atmosphere did not live up to how it usually is (happy and energising).
Food a little over priced but good
