The staff were very nice and friendly but the quality of the food was terrible.
Mozzarella sticks were empty once we bit into them and too far to long to get service once seated
We visited TGI Fridays in Croydon at the weekend for a family celebration. Our table had been booked in advance but on arrival it was chaos so we had a drink at the bar until our table was ready. There were 8 people in our party and they had given us two tables set together, one circular and one rectangular. The circle table was pushed so far into the corner that there was not actually space for 2 of us to sit comfortable (you couldn't even pull the chairs out fully) and we had to move the tables along ourselves to create some space. Unfortunately we had been seated right next to a large group who had small children with them running around and screaming which made it very difficult for us to hear each other. There was no cutlery laid on our table and we during our meal we had to request cutlery twice before we were given any. We had to chase the waitresses for some of the starters as they were not all served at the same time. One of our main dishes was missing chips (how you can not see that missing from the plate is beyond me!). The drinks order took a ridiculous amount of time, we ordered some cocktails, some served with ingredients missing and others that just didn't arrive. We also order Coke Zero refills but were served Diet Coke on 3 separate occasions. There is a difference! But on top of this the most shocking thing was the attitude of the staff. For example when serving the main course the waitress stood and yelled "BURGER NO BUN", another brought over some onion rings and looked disgruntled when we said they were not for our table. She then dumped the onion rings on the table next to us and walked off. When we queried an issue with one of the cocktails the waitress said she would check with the bar but if they said no that it was not her fault! There is clearly a training issue here with manners (lack of). The food was nice though and we enjoyed the meal but the poor service really spoilt the experience and I would not recommend to anyone wishing to celebrate a special occasion. They were clearly understaffed on this day and it doesn't help when all the waiters disappear together to clap happy birthday all around one table when every other table is then left waiting. I have been to this TGIs before and the service and attitude of the staff has been awful on more than one occasion and really does need to be addressed!
Absolutely shocking. I used to visit TGI frequently. Its a shame that the Purely Way restaurant has gone so down hill. The place is dated and unkempt. We went on Father's Day. Waited 20 mins before anybody came to serve and that was after asking 3 times! Starters came out, nachos were soggy and ciabatta cold so was sent back. The children's burger came out the beans had been spooned straight out of the fridge and were freezing. We then received the main with the starter which wasnt requested and the icing on the cake was the hair found in the main!! Servers walking around with food asking people if it was theirs as they didn't have a clue. Worst part was they wasnt even busy! I wonder why
Cocktails are not good not enough alcohol waste of money.
Quickly seated, drinks and food orders taken / served quickly. But one of the mains were missing and therefore had to wait and eat separately. The food was piping hot and delicious when it arrived, so no harm done. The manager came over afterwards and offered a discount because of the incident. This in itself is the reason that I have changed the star for service from three stars to four. Thank you
Walked into the foyer where 6 to 8 people were already waiting. There was no sign of any staff members attending to front of house. As two of our party had arrived 15 minutes early, we went through to find them sat at a booth. The reservation was for six people, but it would have been a tight fit for four people in the booth so I went back to the entrance desk to check with a member of staff if we could move to a bigger table of six we had found empty. After waiting several minutes and seeing no member of staff, we moved anyway. Our waitress came over about 10 minutes later. She was very pleasant and efficient, so that was a relief, however, after ordering, we waited nearly an hour for our food to come out. One of the meals was not what was ordered so had to go back for a remake, another meal, a burger, was not great tasting. When we asked the server for some ketchup, we waited nearly 5 minutes before I went and got it myself! The restaurant wasn't full, they just appeared to not have enough staff on to deal with everyone. Very disappointed in the speed, or lack of it, in the service. TGI's at Crawley is way better.
Everything took to long.waiting over 20 mins for drinks.just told bar was busy....not my problem he was busy.put extra staff on.
Service is really bad, no cutlery, no napkins and had to ask for a straw which I never received.
I couldn't fault the atmosphere it was love, we went for our anniversary but the service was slow. The waitress did try her best we wanted a hot pudding but they don't do hot puddings that was my only real complaint.
We were there for over 20 minutes before someone took our order then it took a further 30 mins for the food to arrive. The food was good though and the waitress did apologise for the wait multiple times
We were there for my daughters 12th birthday. Firstly the staff were very pleasant and our waitress Lucy was helpful and upbeat when she was with us. Unfortunately presumably the restaurant was understaffed or had previously been very busy (was not full when we were there but a lot of tables were left uncleared) because the service was extremely poor and the time we waited exceptionally long which got worse as the evening progressed. Lucy was not available in our area very often so she was hard to track down for drinks etc. Food took a long time to come and when our mains arrived we had to ask (and wait for for at least 5 mins) for cutlery which is ridiculous as we had hot food in front of us. My main (steak/prawns/ribs) was tasty, but the mixed veg were hard to identify (although our seat was particularly dark), but generally it was ok. Puddings... service again terribly slow. We had to chase three or more times for my daughters pudding and the rest of the party (6 others)had finished theirs, there was at least 15 mins between first at last pudding. It was an uncomfortable experience all round. Finally being a Birthday, I had hoped the staff may ask if we wanted a sparkler in pudding (not sure if singing is just for larger parties) but I felt I couldn’t ask as by the end of the meal we just needed to go as quickly as possible. Unfortunately we won’t be heading to TGI Fridays again in the future. Thank you for seeking feedback
Service was slow at times due to lack of staff during busy period
Party of six (three adults and three children). Service was pretty slow, despite it not being very busy. We had to go and find someone to ask for the allergens menu, although they were then quite thorough regarding ordering for two children with allergies (coeliac and dairy allergy). My food was a disaster - wrong order to start with and then when corrected (slowly, so others already almost finished), it was mouldy (bread roll on burger had several green spots of mould on the bottom)! The server and manager were very apologetic, did discount the bill, and gave us free desserts, so could not have done much more. However, I have definitely been put off returning!
Food was great, atmosphere was great but the waiting time n service where really bad, totally ruined my autistic son’s 18th Birthday. I have been to many TGI Friday restaurants and mainly they have been great but not on this occasion.
First time I came here and service veryyyyy slow. Took them a good 15 minutes to come take our order and then same time or maybe more to bring bill after which they took 10 minutes to come for payment. Otherwise food was amazing and staff was very friendly.
We went for my son's 10th birthday and it was a huge let down.... The staff were really lovely and friendly so the 1 star service is based on how long it took for food to arrive...it took probably an hour and if I am honest we shouldn't have paid for it...it came out cold , the coleslaw smelt and had definitely gone off, children were over eating so didn't eat anything... I hope this can be tackled as I would like to go back...
Monesha was our waitress and she was very polite and she made sure we were enjoying our meal.
Service was incredibly slow- took an hour to get our starters and drinks orders were forgotten about. My daughter really wanted to go as it was her birthday but all the waiting around put a real downer on her day.
Arrrived early, many empty tbls but we wqa sent to the bar... in the bar The cocktail was half full she said she followed the recepie no other explanations ... had to call for attention to order... they don't have pasta and I am informed when ordering not before hand... overheard another table asking to have their mains straight away after starters it was denied.... I order the stake and ribs and got chicken and steak... mains came with no cutlery, no napkins no drinks....had to call for attention once again.... Bill straight away in the table... No offer to go to the bar... I love tgi fridays but this one.... I have to say it was a really bad experience....so sad.. even the food has gone down and the prices extremely up.... sad..
Food took almost an hour to come out - wasn’t advised there was along delay on food when I ordered. Sons was cold but we were that hungry we couldn’t be bothered to send it back and wait again. Appreciate it’s busy on a Saturday but it wasn’t a good dining experience from my point of view. Feel sorry for the staff who are running around like crazy trying g to keep up with everything.
Went to celebrate my children birthday waited 2 hours for starters ordered drinks continually got told they coming, our server was Lucy she had an attitude for no reason, we was given birthday cakes in a box no singing nothing had to complain for staff to actually do it, receipt was given without asking and no choice to order desserts, was a waste of a evening service was poor and tgi wasn’t even packed like it normally is
We had a table booked for a birthday party for my daughter and friends. No balloons on table or girls were not given any unlike other tables they received balloons. At the end we had to ask staff. One waitress was rude. Chloe I think she said her name was. Then we had our waitress changed and she was lovely. My daughter loved the part when they sang happy birthday. Food was not very hot but service was quite quick.
Meal was enjoyed by all 8 of our party good value and my son had a lovely birthday thanks
