Very disappointed with the children's portion size. Far smaller than the TGIF I went to in London. Will not be returning.

We preordered for a large group yet still waited an hour for the first couple of meals to come out. We sat down at 4.15 and some of our party were given their meals at 5.45!! The burgers were hard and the chips awful. Kids pizzas were dried up. Only one server for 41 people. The idea of pre ordering was to avoid all of this. The restaurant was also very cold. I confirmed the booking that morning and booked weeks ago so they were aware of the size of our party. When it came to deserts only one person was making them so that was another delay. We were eating there for a dance school Christmas party and it wasn’t an enjoyable experience.

Upon our arrival, we were met by our waitress ( did not take a note of name) she sat us down, asked if we wanted drinks, we asked for 5 more minutes. She left and came back to say she would not wait on us no longer and that a colleague would be over in a moment ( this came across very rude to our party and made us feel inadequate) baring in mind she waited on a larger group next to us, maybe she thought she would get a bigger tip from a bigger party. We had a gentleman called Rob wait on us, he was very polite, funny and charismatic, thank you for making our evening enjoyable.

booked a table waited for 15 mins to be seated waited a further 20 mins before we got served to find out there was over an hour wait for food WHAT A JOKE whats the point in booking a table went somewhere else.

Poor quality burgers (burnt and cold), all guests crammed into one corner, 2 hours for only a main - skipped dessert ws so slow, other guests returning food to the kitchen. Poor birthday celebration.

Really enjoyed our evening. The only slight flaw was that all customers had been squashed into a small area of the restaurant so it did feel a bit noisy and cramped. But the food was lovely and our server was nice.

Glad we booked a table as we have tried few times to pop in after shopping. Waiteress was very professional even when it vacate very busy. She smiled all through out serving customers.

The food was very lovely as usually but the service was bad. The service was very imerdating and obviously the other waitress just didn’t look happy. We waited ages for our started and main!

We had a party of 12 one person's food was sent back because it was cold. We all came to you 2 years ago and had a brilliant time the food was good then but not now won't be back in a hurry. I also reported food on floor at bottom of stairs this was reported twice as it was dangerous took a long time to clear.

Staff were really unprofessional had to wait ages for our meal and there was a large number of us when we did get our food was really cold staff didn’t want to help with anything and that’s totally wrong not good customer service wouldn’t recommend anyone to come and visit at ur restaurant.

Party of four, booked to celebrate our sons birthday. Have not been to this TGI for a couple of years, and it's really gone downhill since our last visit. Started off bad as the booth we were given was in really bad state with the seats all ripped up, dirty and with foam showing through.Table had been set, but was so sticky, event the napkin stuck to it. Service was awful. Our waiter was disinterested and we had to give our order several times. Had to wait ages for everything even though they didn't seem that busy (20 mins for drinks, 15 mins to get the bill, further 15 mins after that for waiter to return with card machine). Three out of four of our meals arrived, then the final one 10 mins later, by which time the first three were cold. No reason or apology. Staff seemed more interested in talking with each other than serving customers. Worst birthday meal ever.

Bar staff were great, thought didn't have everything available. When being seated, for reasons unknown (at a not very busy time) staff tried to put us on two tables!!! Had booked this 2 weeks in advance. Food average. Will likely avoid in future.

Waited a very long time for plates to be cleared from the table once we’d finished then had to ask for the dessert menu and the bill both several times then also had to ask if we could pay. Overall very slow and frustrating

Absolutely horrendous service! The worst I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Left with two disappointed children (one who’s birthday it was) and unfulfilled promises of reimbursement. If you are considering booking, look elsewhere. I have had my doubts about this place from previous visits in terms of the organisation, waiting times and service. I would suggest that possibly there is a management issue? Previous concerns have always been mitigated by a fun atmosphere, good cocktails and reasonably good (although often luke warm and long awaited) food. On this occasion, we made a booking for myself, my partner and two children. It was for my eldest sons 9th birthday. We travelled nearly 1 hour in Friday evening rush hour traffic, my son excited to have ribs and a mocktail! Unfortunately we received a call about 5 minutes before arriving, it sounded like the staff member was relatively inexperienced, she apologised that the booking would have to be cancelled as there was a problem with the kitchen. I asked if there were any alternative suggestions as we had traveled for my sons birthday but she clearly was unsure what to suggest. It appeared she had been delegated the unenviable task of calling people to cancel booking but without any guidance on what she could offer as an alternative. I asked to speak to the manager, I think the name may have been Donna but I’m not quite sure. She was very polite and explained the gas was not working (in retrospect I’m not sure how this could happen in a restaurant but that’s beside the point). The manager was apologetic and suggested two alternative TGIF, offering to book. However , these were both more than 45 mins away in rush hour traffic. We opted to travel to valley park and find somewhere last minute. The manager assured me at the end of the telephone conversation that she would look at the cancellations the next day and email to offer some form of reimbursement or voucher. Unsurprisingly, this has not happened. Generally I would not mind personally, but when it involves my son being disappointed in his birthday I take exception. I am completely put off any return to TGIF Croydon and would strongly urge people to reconsider booking there. I am considering my options as to what to do next, as I am finding myself increasingly frustrated as to how we were treated as potential customers. I would like to post on some of the local croydon Facebook groups to warn people off booking. A google maps review would be another good way of sharing our experience, and perhaps I could get in touch with regional managers to enquire if there is anyone more adept in providing feedback about our recent experience.

Ridiculous. Restaurant closed down because of gas problems and no offer or suggestions of other restaurants were made, my anniversary was ruined and we had no where to go.

Having booked a table, we arrived to discover there had been a problem with the ovens and the restaurant was now closed. Received no text, email notification or phone call. Poor service. It was our first and probably last visit.

Never ever returning. Had to wait for the table to be ready even though the restaurant was empty and had booked a week earlier, waited over an hour for the starters, nearly as long for the drinks, when the mains come 2 were wrong and 1 was missing. We wasn’t asked if we wanted any more drinks we had to keep asking the waitress. When we told the waitress that we had been waiting there was no apology she just said we are busy and it’s a lot of food to get out-we was only s table of 13!!! Disappointed as we have come to TGI’s loads of time of the years, but never again!!! If I could have given no stars I would of but it wouldn’t let me!
