Tgis is a place I love but I found the service to be more than slow on my visit Saturday as it took nearly half an hour to even get a waiter.
Food good but the steak meal was very chewy and tough it
It started off really we as me and my friends always come here. We had gotten there just before the rush so it was pretty empty. Our first round of drinks took 15 minutes to get to the table. With only two people on the bar that's to be expected. We ordered food and that was fine except the side of veg that my friend had ordered wasn't brought over turns out when we asked the manager it wasn't even put on the order by the waiter. Half way through our meal we ordered more drinks. I had another cocktail my two friends just wanted water. This took 40 minutes to come to our table. Not only that it also took 30 minutes for our table to be cleared after we had our food. Which is appalling considering at any one point there was always 3 of your floor staff around. It's not a matter of having to ask the table to be cleared it's more the fact some of them looked directly at the table and did nothing. I understand you may all only take care of your sections but since you are all a team then surly if you see a table with empty plates if it's in your section on not you would offer to clear them. So we wait and wait until finally we'd had enough and asked a passing waitress after 5 of them had just sang happy birthday to a girl on the opposite table if she could clear our table. It was then our waiter had saw what she was doing and shocked about it he also asked if we'd had our drinks which we hadn't.. So we speak to the manager about it who takes off all the drinks from our bill. What he should of done was offer us desserts or a free round of drinks since our wait time was over an hour and all we had was one drink and a main meal. Like I said we come to tgi alot and the wait for drinks is normal because it always seems like you're under staffed when it comes to the bar but that specific night was absolutely terrible. I'm actually shocked we payed the bill. The fact that you had so many floor staff and still we was ignored is just incredible. I would live to say that we would be coming back but is there an actual point. The only plus side out waiter Keith was lovely great service when he was at the table with us. And the lack of effort from everyone else cost him his tip.
Food was great. Service was not good at first. We were seated at a table that was enough for 6 people and there was 8 of us after speaking to a manager we were moved but to 2 separate tables. Then we waited about 15-20 minutes for our drinks to be brought over when the others got there's straight away. But after that the girl serving was great she couldn't help us enough and we were very pleased.
Can you just do a normal coke for a normal price ? £3+ is ridiculous and I don’t want loads of refills. Just one glass for £1.50 would be perfect !
We had a lovely experience at the restaurant but we had reserved a booking online for 6 people for 11am. That all went through and we received a reminder email too of our reservation. Unfortunately when we arrived the resturant didn't even open until 11.30am and the manager could not understand why our booking had gone through and confirmed. He could not let us in to wait and we had to go into the pub next door and sit luckily they made us a coffee but we did have an 8month old baby with us and it was very inconvientent.
Really nice restaurant to eat at and the atmosphere is great...we were sat nearer the window which was great but it does lose the atmosphere but other than that I would recommend this strongly to anyone who loves an American diner and especially American food. The price of food is also extremely reasonable some drinks are quite pricey including the soda.
Our waitress was lovely polite and made sure we was all ok on my daughter's 21st birthday
All good. Good service and great food
Love this place ! The mushrooms for starters are amazing !! Love the ribs & I always have a cocktail ! Cant beat it ! Fantastic service as my little sister had a happy birthday song. She was so happy! Thank you to everyone on saturday, they all work so hard!
Our table was booked for 7.45pm and we eventually paid our bill at 11.10pm. The service was extremely slow and the food was really mediocre. My friend and I ate off the festive menu (3 citrates for £22.95). We both had the traditional chicken main, I had roasted vegetables and there were none on her plate. The mash potato was awful and the chicken was dry. We had to wait ages for mint chocolate sundae despite other members in our group having their dessert and finishing it before ours arrived. The waitress said sorry for the wait, but they had run out of cream and had to make some more??? We then asked for the bill and waited nearly 40 minutes. When we looked at the bill we had been overcharged for the wine. This was rectified for us. I was really disappointed with the quality of the food and service during the evening.
Waitress only looking after 3 tables, very slow service. Background music, way too loud, deafening. I said it was a birthday on my booking, no -one wished us a happy birthday, or offered us any 'free' cake. very poor.
The staff that greeted us made us not want to book again. They lacked customer service. But then Jordan was serving our food and drinks and was amazing. So nice and lovely. Chit chatty and friendly. Hence the big tip. Hence the extra stars I have given. If it wasn't for Jordan I doubt me and my colleagues would return again. So thank you Jordan.
I Had to go and get the weighter on a couple of occasions and was spoken to in a rude way
Great service, despite being really busy food was served really quickly.
Good place to have lunch
The staff definitely make this place. They work so hard and are always friendly and attentive. Keep up the good work!
The food was not up to standard and did not come hot and fresh but rather lukewarm to cold. The only thing my partner and I enjoyed was the starters our mains were not satisfying. The staff seemed nice but were moving around really busily I almost didn't want to interrupt them as it seemed like they were too busy to really give us their attention or even come of as attentive. I used to love TGIF'S but it has definitely gone downhill. a new chef and manager is a must to get this place back to what it used to be years ago.
Had to wait 25 mins for table to become available so our 7.30pm booking was nearly 8.00pm by the time we were sested. This was annoying as some members of the group had rushed straight from work so as to be there on time. Food however was excellent. The christmas menu and 2 for 1 cocktails were a great bonus. My steak was over cooked on arrival but was replaced immediately for medium rare as ordered. Scott our waiter was excellent. He went out of his way to look after us all and a part from the afore mentioned little hiccups all 16 of us had a truly lovely evening. Would definately return.
Good service, the team was welcoming and helpful. Food was good and we were served pretty quickly. Good experience!
My only issue was that the air conditioning was blowing out cold air when its cold outside. Think this must be for the benefit of the staff rather than customers!!
Excellent all round value for money, quality of food and drink and service
Visited Your resorts world on 2nd Dec with 5 others had super service and excellent meal. On this basis booked at Hagley Rd for our anniversary meal! Had exactly the same festive menu but it came with steak, chips and a bowl of cranberries!! Should have had lettuce wedge parsnip crisps and a blue cheese and Stilton sauce. Just looked like someone had throwed it in the plate! Had to ask the waiter because we was missing the 2 41 cocktails he only gave us two and not 4! Then after main course the waiter said “you don’t want anything else now” my husband said yes we would like more drinks and we still had the puddings to be ordered! Really disappointed with service, presentation and food missing from what we ordered. I went there due to me having a fantastic experience at resorts world Birmingham the Sunday prior, and it was our 29th anniversary so wanted something special. Left feeling deflated by the whole experience. Couldn’t believe the difference in the two restaurants of the same chain. Waiter was rude at Hagley rd where as the week before our waiter was excellent and gave a great service. Disappointing experience and will not return to Hagley Rd!!!!
It was my moms birthday and the waitress was really helpful with recommended meals and really helpful with cocktail menu. Cocktails and food to die for.
Easy to book online.. service was customer friendly.
