Unfortunately our food wasn't hot, but after waiting so long for it we didn't want to have to wait for a replacement, such a shame after telling my Mum and sister how amazing TGI's is. Not sure I'll return to your Derby restaurant, but would still try others
Just a pity that twice in a row now , after taking my order for beef ribs , I’m told afterwards that they have run out, and that st 6:30? Shouldn’t this be known by the waiters before taking orders already ? We drive 40 mind to get there and went there for the beef ribs, so rather disappointing.
staff really welcoming and lovely, really look after you and make sure you’re happy
Service was painfully slow and it wasn't even busy. One to avoid.
We were really disappointed to be honest. On our previous visit to TGI's the food and service were amazing, however this time it was awful. We arrived at 3.05pm to be told that because we were early we would have to get a drink at the bar before we could be seated, despite our booking being for 3.15pm and website advising to arrive 15 mins early. We were eventually seated at 3.25pm. We were then approached for our food orders, we ordered the Steak and Fries and Chargrill Cream Chicken Pasta, I asked the assistant which vegetables came with the Steak and Fries, he said carrots, brocoli and kidney beans. On receiving my Steak and Fries, there wasn't any mixed veg, I literally had a plate of broccoli and 1 kidney bean. My partners creamy pasta was creamy in the middle of the plate but the rest of it was extremely dry. Our drinks were empty at the time that the food arrived and we requested new drinks, the assistant then seemed to forget. Half way through eating our food we chased the drinks and he fetched them from the bar - Pint of Budweiser and a bottle of Kopperberg Mixed Fruit. Towards the end of the meal the server was changed as I'm assuming the previous assistants shift had ended which could potentially explain the poor service, the new assistant was back to the usual TGI standards which we expect, excellent. He asked if we wanted additional drinks which we didn't and then asked if we wanted dessert and was very polite and efficient. We attended for our anniversary and was somewhat disappointed but at least the latter assistant softened the disappointment. I appreciate that the restaurant was very busy in the afternoon and therefore will just put this down to the member of staff being in a hurry to get off shift and potentially having a bad day. All our previous visits to the restaurant have been fantastic so don't let this rating put you off.
We had a great time celebrating our daughters birthday. The guy doing magic tricks with cards was really good. We excellent service, food came quickly and it was really nice. Definitely recommend and good value for money
Waited an extremely long time for drinks, one of the starters didn't turn up with the rest and we had to request the lost starter, seemed to wait a long time between courses which was noted by a member of your staff who apologised on our receipt, one round of drinks was incorrect although we were constantly being told he was the 4th best!!!
Lovely meal, great friendly service. Great value for money. Only negative would say is our table was very close to the other 2 tables, we felt like we were sat with the couples either side of us.
Very Good Food and Service. I would recommend for people to go and visit.
We were disappointed with our visit.my husband ordered his meal and everything had run out. I realise that this can happen but it would have been better if the waitress had know as we were ordering. The end result was that he ate alone as we had finished because we had children with us and they got fed up after a hour of waiting It was a special occasion we then didn’t have time for pudding. The upside was the manager was very apologetic and gave us a discount. The food we did have was very nice
Me and my partner arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time as a email said we would get the best experience but we didnt the bar area was packed and we couldnt move you had a member of staff at the bar that had finished work and waiting for his friends to finish work taking up two seats he had his bag on one. i had to go up to staff and remind them we was waiting for a table and had been waiting since 7.15 the time was now 7.50. 10 minutes after asking we was seated but where we was wasnt the greastest next to a till where you could hear staff moaning about there jobs and next to gap where people seated above you couls see everything. on the plus side the food was good service needs improvement and atmosphere was ok.
Great atmosphere and fast service
Waiting half an hour to be seated even though we booked. Once we got our seats we had to wait another half an hour at this point we decided to leave because there was no sign of us being served after asking twice. We were also put on a table right under the air con which was freezing. Awful experience. WILL NOT be returning.
Staff are very friendly. Sort out any issues with a smile. No bad attitudes
The main meal was really nice and good value for cash, but the 'sundaes' were such a rip off! Half whipped cream and then just plain ice cream with some random fudge pieces slobbed on top. Such a let down for £5.99! The service was awful, we waited a good 30 minutes for the deserts and it took about 20 mins for them to bring the bill! shocked at how poor the service was considering we were 1 out of 3 tables there that night!
Staff were very friendly and accommodating! The food was excellent. We had a fantastic night! Thanks
Cannot fault anything the service was good and the food was lovely and tasty
Very good food. Service could have been a bit quicker
very enjoyable meal
Food was slow
Food was good, but service poor - took over 45 mins to get starters!
When we arrived, the hostess didn't seem to have any record of our booking, but she did come across as enthusiastic and welcoming. The service was extremely poor even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Our waiter took so long to come over to welcome us, that a member of our party went to the bar to order our drinks and then went to the bar on multiple occasions during the visit to ask for refills. When the waiter did come over to the table he didn't apologise for keeping us waiting, he just mumbled something about how he'd lost his trainee . My friend was handed a hot plate without warning which was so hot it burned her finger! Instead of an apology, the waiter said that he didn't feel it because he has 'asbestos hands' and that 'comes with the job'. The food was okay, but would have been more enjoyable if most of it hadn't been burned. The jacket potato skins were more like crisps. We were out for dinner to celebrate a Birthday and were given balloons and a hat, however, we didn't receive the traditional TGI Friday's Birthday song. We got so fed up of waiting, we left. We don't very often go to TGI Friday's in Derby, but the service was very slow last time too. It is obvious why the restaurant is always empty in comparison to the one in Sutton Coldfield. This visit was for a special occasion, I'm glad the company was good so my night wasn't completely ruined. I left disappointed.
We were told that the kitchen had run out of vegetables!! This was at 8 pm. We chose salad as this was the alternative offered. Our food arrived with chips (we hadn't ordered these) I also had mash on my plate which was to be served with the veg. This was dried around the edges. Our salad appeared 5 mins later & looked like it had just been thrown in the dish. I was very disappointed as I've been here before & the food was good & well presented. Not sure why the standard was so bad this time. Don't think we'll be returning any time soon .
