About Taylors Fine Dining
Taylors is a family run, fine dining restaurant experience. An intimate restaurant serving bold flavours, traditional methods and passion for outstanding quality ingredients.
Our menu is seasonally led and changes on a weekly basis, the restaurant offer’s very different dining experiences. one being a chefs table area where you are seated at high tables overlooking our chefs in the kitchen and the other will be very much the fine dining experience in comfortable surroundings.
The largest table available is for guests is 8 . Together with the chefs table area and bar seating the restaurant seats up to 26 guests. An intimate, yet relaxed atmosphere where you can truly sit back and relax whilst enjoying mouth watering food.
The Taylor’s believe in nose to tail eating, from a parsnip to a pig, nothing goes to waste and everything is used, this will be reflected in the dining experience. Steve leads his kitchen with passion and this stands out in all he creates.
The intimate dining experience as advertised could not be further from our experience : We had a rowdy table in the restaurant and even though we were a large group we has to shout at the individual sat immediately next to you, so having a conversation with the end of our table was impossible, sadly the table in question was the chef and his pals !! The pork course for one serving was over cooked, and the waitress placed the knives and forks for two seating the wrong way around. And you have a lovely view of bikes when visiting the washrooms not exactly a fine dining experience !. 3 of our party of 6 would not return and sadly these were the world wide travelling Michelin star foodies in the group. They have a lot to improve on before they can justify a circa £100 per head (food and wine pairing) menu.
Had the most amazing meal in a fantastic setting. Staff were wonderful, food was wonderful, have recommended this restaurant to my friends and colleagues today!!
A wonderful lunch Restarant was full and deservedly so....as good ss it gets for food ambiance and service Lucky Newark....a fine restaurant at last!!
We love what the restaurant is trying to achieve and having something nearly recent in Newark is great. Unfortunately I think Taylor’s is not quite the standard it is charging. The wine pairing by the glass was expensive for average quality. And whilst the food looked very pretty on the plate didn’t quite pull together with its flavours. We both had a lovely evening as the environment is really relaxing. The service again let the restaurant down. We felt very rushed to begin with bread coming out as soon as seated but weren’t asked if we wanted a drink. As the dishes came out the waitresses explained the dishes but unfortunately it sounded like they were reading off script with no real understanding or passion for the food they were presenting.
Excellent. Deserves to be packed lunchtime and evenings. Outstanding food, the best in Nottinghamshire.
By far the best dining experience in Newark.
As ever, we were delighted with the whole experience of dining at Taylors. Beautiful flavours, relaxed atmosphere and fair price. Our friends were blown away and one even tried something she had refused at a previous restaurant - and loved it!
We had a lovely evening. How lucky to find such a innovative and relaxed fine dining experience at an affordable price. We both enjoy cooking and if we eat out our rule of thumb is that it should be something that we would not be able to cook ourselves . A tasting menu therefore is often our preferred choice and a menu that offers a limited choice is also in our view a good sign . Every course was mouthwateringly different and the pace of service was also well timed. We loved the iced tea and the exquisite petit fours. The only feed back I can offer with regard to the food was the main dish of lamb prepared in several different ways . The aubergine puree which decorated the plate was not visually enhancing as it meant everything looked brown and perhaps a contrasting puree which was fresher in taste and colour might have been better. (Personally I like samphire with salt marsh lamb .) We sat on one of the chefs tables which was fun as we could watch the proceedings in the kitchen ....it was quite tricky to get the high stools close enough to the table to be entirely comfortable and the low backs on the chairs may not suit everyone. Because we were driving back to our holiday accommodation some distance away we could not enjoy the flight of wines ....in this respect perhaps adding some additional non alcoholic beverages to the drinks list might be a good idea. The non alcoholic gins now available make a really nice aperitif ....no cheaper than real gin but much nicer than a plain tonic water. Our only regret is that the chef did not come over to our table ( not sure why as he did go to the other tables)...so we were unable to thank him in person. Having eaten in some michelin star restaurants we both agreed that Taylors was high up on our list and was certainly value for money . Hoping that you get the recognition you deserve and go from strength to strength
Newark has a new Fine Dining experience! Most welcome. Thank you
Lovely meal - we will be back.
Excellent food and attentive, friendly service. Desserts to die for!
I made the booking as a birthday present for my son on law who enjoys fine dining and has eaten at a number of Michelin star restaurants. They had a throughly enjoyable evening enjoying both the food and the ambiance.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with the taster menu and accompanying wine selection. The food and wine were all perfect, and the service was excellent and discreet. The wait between courses was, for us, just right and gave us time to enjoy our own company (and the wine!). Every course was beautifully prepared and presented. The steak course was possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. We will return, but it will have to be a treat as the evening menu with drinks is quite pricey.
Amazing food, as good as any of the Michelin star restaurants we have eaten in. We loved everything about our evening and hope to return soon.
Beautiful food and a very comfortable stylish setting. We thought the portion sizes were perfect and standard of cooking was exceptional. We had a really enjoyable evening thank you!
It is really quite hot in the restaurant which distracts us from the fabulous foods and wines.
The Menu is limited, delicious and fairly priced. However, I found the introduction of each course extremely irritating and unnecessary. The staff, whilst attentive do need more training on how to serve drinks and clear away, as it was all rather clumsy. Didn't have a great deal of atmosphere, but I think that may improve over time - the lighting is awful.
Fabulous food in a gorgeous restaurant. Friendly, welcoming staff. Michelin star quality! Will be back soon.
Took friends they really enjoyed thank you
My friend and I enjoyed every aspect of our lunchtime experience at Taylors. The setting was quiet, calm and elegant, the service was excellent: friendly and informative and the food was delicious. We will definitely return!
I said it before and repeat it now. I think it's a great shame that Steve comes out of the kitchen and hovers at the servery instead of saying hello to his customers. It makes a huge difference to the diners experience if we have the chance to give immediate feedback to the chef.
Absolutely first class. Beautifully put together choices, looked good on the plate, and tasted better in the mouth.
With the quality of the young talent in the kitchen it will just get better and better. Family run operations are always the best. Great to have such a class establishment in Newark.
I've eaten at Taylor's a number of times since it opened in December, 2018. It is a joy to have, at last, a good restaurant in Newark........long may the place thrive! I've never been disappointed and look forward to dining there again and again 😊
Excellent food and excellent service. We will be visiting again next time we are in Newark
