About Hatton Court Hotel
Our fantastic restaurant and Alfresco JP Champagne Terrace and Tara Terrace have stunning panoramic views over Gloucester and the surrounding area. We offer a Sharing style menu offering great british and International classics. An excellent range of fresh and seasonal seafood platters. We offer traditional afternoon and cream teas.
Long overdue visit as i live very close. Enjoyed the whole experience, food was good, wine fairly priced and well kept. Service, concidering current covid restrictions was good. Grounds and setting exemplary. Although I live nearby we are considering a weekend break in the near feature.
Room need severely updating definitely not worth the money we paid, this was for my partners 30th birthday, was a bit disappointed. The hotel website was very misleading as it said that all rooms had been recently refurbished. Didn't look like the pictures, all of the wall paper was peeling off crack as soon as you walk through the door. Window wouldn't stay open in this boiling hot weather. I booked the superior room but was about the same size as a room at a travelodge, bathroom looked very dated, I.e cracked sink and the bath was very scratched so didn't seem appealing. All in all would not be visiting again.
Absolutely fantastic stay with lots of special, personal touches. From the moment we stepped into the hotel to when we left the service and staff and everything was 10/10! Well done Hatton Court!
Website advertised, newly refurbished executive rooms with lovely views. We got a tatty room , shabby bathroom broken loo roll holder , peeling paint , stained bath , and a view of the car park!! NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED- on plus side staff lovely, food at dinner nice , breakfast not great, bullet poached eggs, rock solid black pudding, and lukewarm beans, On the whole, nice place, was it because we took up an offer ?? Several other niggles, around service but inexperienced staff I guess
We ordered Prosecco and chocolates for the room but with a comment of no nuts and we were given Hazlenut Praline chocolates. Despite asking, nothing was done to provide alternatives. We had to ask twice for a fan that worked as it was hot. The meal service was very slow with a starter after an hour and main course after at least 1.5 hours. The views did not exist due to the marquee and height of the trees.
We had a warm welcome and our cream tea was served efficiently on the lovely terrace. Scones were fresh and good and more than enough cream was included on the tea-stand, together with some lovely summer fruit and 3 little cakes. I am always surprised when a tea for 2 is served with an odd number of cakes but it seems to be the thing in many places and luckily we are happy to half one! My partner gained a lemon drizzle one as I am much more of a chocolate fan and the scones had been quite enough anyway. Not all tables had parasols which made things a tad uncomfortable in the unusual heat but we managed to move when someone else vacated their shade. Our evening meal was very pleasant outside with the sun set lovely from the terrace. The serving staff were clearly working really hard in the heat to carry so much food to the popular terraces and so the forgotten dessert was forgiven. They were doing such a good job and we appreciated their friendly and caring approach. Our food was very good and we look forward to our return visit.
We really enjoyed our weekend stay at your beautiful hotel. The hotel was really clean and we felt the service was outstanding. Thank you
Service and value for money excellent, great, helpful staff. The atmosphere was great even under these circumstances. My only gripe would be the bar and food quantities. Whilst we were there for 2 nights the bar, ran out of ice, normal tonic water, didn’t have any grapefruit juice and couldn’t do some cocktails because the ingredients weren’t available. The evening food was great but breakfast was light on portion size. We found a full English very good but if you chose just a couple items you still only got one of each item. Surely if you just wanted bacon and egg you’d get more than one rasher????
When booking the room, it was listed that a packed lunch would be provided on the day we left however this was not offered. Also breakfast was limited as some items were not available although we're on the menu. However can't fault the staff who were helpful and friendly
We booked for the ‘boozy’ promotion which included afternoon cakes, Prosecco evening meal, bed and breakfast and a picnic lunch. I have to say it was great value. The weather was perfect so made eating outside very enjoyable. The evening meal was truly delicious with plenty of choice. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely setting, delicious food, kind helpful staff - thank you very much!
Warm welcome and all the staff are doing a great job. Cream tea? Dinner and breakfast all excellent. Living it and will definitely return and recommend. Your team are a real credit to your hotel. Brilliant service alm round.
We loved the setting and our bedroom with its large bed. We also had a delightful evening meal which we both enjoyed. My Eton mess dessert was a bit bizarre in that it looked like grey gruel but it tasted ok though. My only negative points are that it would have been good to have parasols available on the patio to make eating our evening meal more enjoyable in the hot sun and the quality of the breakfast was really poor with minuscule portions and very drab food. I'm surprised that you're still serving breakfasts like this as I'd read that other people have given the same feedback in the past.
Incredible, kind and professional staff who looked after us really well on an important and special day. We can't thank them enough for everything they did for us!
Beautiful hotel. In a lovely area. Staff make you feel so relaxed. Would highly recommend Hatton court
All the staff were great the Irish lady on reception and Josh the bar man who worked so hard in the heat Saturday but kept a smile on his face. Lovely relaxing break thanks
Could not fault anything about our stay everything was absolutely brilliant from start to finish
Had a fantastic stay. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Food amazing and such great value. Everything spot on. Thank you so much.
We did a BB dinner and cream tea package to celebrate a birthday. Fantastic value for money and on arrival we were given a Birthday card with voucher for 2 free drinks of our choice. Lovely setting and grounds. Room and bathroom was very clean and well appointed, throughout the hotel high emphasis on covid safety without spoiling our stay. Food and choice in the Tara restaurant was excellent & breakfast was very good ordered night before and table service. Wonderful terraces to sit out on weather permitting which it was on our stay had our cream tea outside along with drinks. Good service, lovely staff nothing to much trouble and fantastic value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.
Had a lovely stay and would have given 5 stars except a few things let it down. All the staff are lovely!!! Very helpful and pleasant. Think we were a bit unlucky as there was a party going on and so service at dinner was extremely slow. We were offered a free drink to make up for this. We reported a broken fan in our room before 7pm as it was very hot and someone knocked on our door to try and fix it after 10.15pm - we were asleep as we had had a very long day!! The music being played was all ska and Madness etc. We actually quite like this music but it was on a continuous loop - even playing at breakfast the next morning! Finally, for some very odd reason on the hottest day of the year the central heating radiators were on in all the corridors of the building we were staying in! Having said that the location is great, food fantastic and the staff so lovely that we would stay again.
Try to get my name right. It is Frizzell. Read the booking, for goodness sake and look at the email address.
Very long wait for food, but when it did arrive food was lovely.
Staff were lovely, especially the Irish girl on Reception. Building is fabulous. Food was delicious, especially dinner. It was dreadfully hot in the rooms but we did get a fan provided. We would come back again but probably not in high season when busy and hot, however that's a personal choice. One thing that could maybe be addressed...the shower pressure is not good. Overall a very good place to stay.
Had to give a rating on Atmosphere as everyone was having to socially distance. Staff very friendly and most things handled very quickly. A reminder about the way breakfast should be ordered processed (or change the title of the paperwork) would have helped but nothing was too much trouble. Value for money I would have given 6 stars, we had the cream tea on arrival and the scones were warm and almost as good as my wifes...
Very helpful and friendly staff. Coping with the "bug" situation very well. Great food and very good quality and value.
