About Tankersley Manor - Bar and Brasserie
The Bar & Brasserie at Tankersley Manor has recently undergone refurbishment and now provides a fantastic mix of contemporary style and rustic charm with three dining areas to relax and enjoy the tempting delights on offer.
The menu takes the taste of the English countryside and puts a modern twist on it creating dishes like Crispy Hen Eggs and Seven Hour Cooked Lamb, a simply mouth-watering selection.
The Bar & Brasserie is open throughout the day.
Our party of 4 were very disappointed with our visit. I have not been here for some time and have to say that the quality of menu was poor. Certainly not what I expected. The service was polite but very slow my husband had to leave his meal to go to the bar for a drink. Tankersley Manor is a beautiful place and I felt the restaurant lets it down. We were with friends from out of area looking forward to Sunday lunch and had to settle for an omelette and chips.
In the evening we ate in the Brasserie. We asked to move tables as the table we were put at was in a cold area and was too cold for eating. The food was lovely.
Lovely food, great staff.
We booked our table for 815 to not get our starters until 915, me and my sister ordered the Tuna, which we both like it pink, it was overcooked which I made the waitress aware of this, she did nothing! The pudding made up for the disappointing Tuna, it hasn't put me off this hotel but will book a table earlier in future.
We came to Tankersley Manor for the night as our first night away since having our sons & getting married. Could not have wished for a better experience, the food was amazing, fresh & piping hot. The staff were so helpful, honestly did not see one staff member not smiling or laughing the whole time we were there. The lady who took our orders (unfortunately did not catch her name, petite, very pretty mid 20s with dark hair in space buns,) made the whole night for us so pleasant and friendly. Will definitely be coming back!
Been a very pleasant evening, food, drinks and service been brilliant.
Fabulous experience high calibre of staff can’t wait to visit again
Crazy bar prices for a large glass of wine. Was given the wrong wine, in a warm glass. Additional bar item on my tab which I did not notice until I had left. Food was nice.
We have stayed / visited Tankersley Manor for a number of years and are always pleased with the quality and choice on both the lunchtime and evening the menus. Although drinks can be a bit pricey, the food is well worth the extra. However, the service we receive from staff is always excellent!
Lovely visit for my birthday. Great food and great service
Restaurant was quite busy and a shortage of champagne flutes lead to a wait for our drinks but staff were friendly throughout.
First night (23-10-17) three courses took 2 hours 20 minutes to be served. Waiting staff were pleasant and were apologising to all tables explaining that only one regular chef was in the kitchen and agency staff had been called in, who, unfortunately weren't familiar with the menu. This was reflected in at least one of the main meals not being as per the description on the menu. 2nd night (24-10-2014) it still took over two hours to be served three courses. No explanation given. Why wasn't kitchen properly staffed and where were hotel senior management?
We were celebrating our Golden wedding anniversary with our family we had a lovely meal and evening the service was wonderful the staff were very helpful and friendly we will visit again soon.
We had a lovely three course meal here on the 14th October the food was very good and the service was brilliant.
Had an issue with the meal but the staff deal with it in a very professional and print manner. All the staff were very helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble.
I would like say that Beth from the Spa did a wonderful massage relaxing three muscles in my back and neck which she found from feel. Thank you Beth. 🙂
Good service but a bit expensive
Barring one person staff were robotic and had little personality
A lack ok water jugs on the night meant we had it by the glass. Which was ok. Aalthough strewn along window sills around the rooms were we stayed we counted at least 7 that had not been cleared away and would surely been useful to you in the restaurant - just a little untidyness.
Very little food for very high price, veg extra charge. What I got was excellent.
Quick and efficient service, good food and wine. Nice touch with complimentary drink for birthday celebration
We went to Tankersley manor to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The spa day was excellent-no complaints. Wife was very pleased. However the evening meal was disappointing. After our starters came after a 30 minute wait we were then still sat there for 45 minutes awaiting our mains. I ordered the Barnsley chop which I was told comes nice and pink (just how I like it) and wife the risotto. I had to go to the bar and find out what was going on. After a further 15 minutes the meals arrived. What a disappointment. The chop was ruined and like charcoal and had been kept warm. The risotto was just a mush on the plate (had'nt been stirred whilst cooking). For a 4 star AA restaurant I really do expect more. We stay at top hotels throughout the UK and Europe and although the spa was excellent the meal spoilt the anniversary. Regards Andrew Walker
Excellent food, excellent staff, excellent atmosphere
Check in is advertised as 3pm.... "From 3pm" is used as a scapegoat for when customers are made to wait for check-in later. The hotel obviously knows it has issues, but covers them up with 'here's a complimentary drink'. Way too busy, seems to be more about the numbers as oppose to customer experience.
Largest portion of fish & chips I've seen forever!
