About Table 22
Modern cuisine set in a grade 2 listed Georgian Hotel.
Fabulous Sunday lunch with my family and friends celebrating my 60th birthday in the private dining room Food delicious and excellent service Delighted ‘Old House’ returns to its former glory Thank you
Enjoyed starter and desert, feel that roasts could have been better a bit bland in look and taste, will try again soon and hopefully better. Good that hotel is back to looking good.
Sat in conservatory area on nice sunny day for Sunday lunch and it was very pleasant. Might be very hot in mid summer. Food and service excellent. We intend to go back
I only put a 3 for atmosphere as we were in the conservatory on our own, but that did allow our little party to be a tad louder that we would have been had we been in the main dining area. Would return in a hearbeat.
What a lovely evening! Thanks to all the staff who made our evening so special - particularly Pip and Kate!
We had a really lovely evening and have already recommended you to other friends. We all thought that for the quality of food it wasn’t excellent value. House wine at 18.50 was really good. It’s great to have somewhere with an extra special feel for a special Occasion. I wish you much luck with this venture. We will be back.
Conservatory is lovely but could do with some blinds .
Excellent menu, excellent food, excellent service. Highly recommended
Waitress was lovely. Drinks expensive. Food delicious. Dirty glass on table and no salt and pepper, just small details but when paying top money expect everything to be perfect. Would return
A wonderful meal, with fantastic staff in a beautiful setting.
We arrived a little earlier so we could sample a cocktail which was fun. Whilst we were choosing our food we were given some delicious olives and were by now happily relaxed and enjoying the fire from one of the large period fireplaces. We all chose a different dish which we all really enjoyed. I had the pigs cheek which was amazing. The girls who looked after us that evening were fabulous and really added to our experience. We will be back.
Great service & good value for money. Quite quiet on the Friday lunchtime we visited so slightly lacking in atmosphere. All food fantastic-well presented and very tasty. Only one ale style beer available amongst 6 or 7 lagers, but that was the only fault amongst the food & beverage offerings. Will definitely return.
A wonderful restaurant in a perfect setting with spectacular food. My only off-put is that me and my partner were referred to as "guys" - though it would not stop me coming back in a heart beat. Will be re-booking again soon. Thank you again
We had a good evening at Table 22 but it could have been much better. The service was pleasant but not particularly competent. We had to ask for a spoon for our starter and we also had to ask for bread. The wine was good and well priced, but my glass was taken away with some wine still in it and twice we had to pour the wine ourselves. Not too much trouble but for the overall prices charged I would have expected a higher standard of service. Our main course was ok, my steak was very good but my guests were less impressed with the Catch of the Day or the lamb. Overall I was disappointed. The restaurant was one of my regular choices for meeting with friends, but that was at least five years ago. I wish Table 22 every success but with so many alternative choices it will probably be a while before I book again.
Food is high standard and well presented as you would expect in a fine dining restaurant. Really enjoyed the dishes. Services although very friendly was a let down for fine dining ie waiter doesn’t remember who ordered what, waiter struggled to serve the bread, forgot to tell us what the catch of the day was... if the service raise the bar, you would get a restaurant close to Michelin style standard. Overall still an enjoyable evening.
Staff get the balance of friendliness & professional service just right. Food excellent value.
The whole visit was a complete delight. It was a birthday Sunday lunch and the service and food was faultless - and the birthday boy got a free drink from Andy Goodson.
Delicious and interesting food. Friendly and chatty staff. We had a lovely night. Many thanks
Excellent meal , very good service from a hotel / restaurant badly needed in the area . Let’s hope it gets the support it deserves .
First class, just what the area has been missing! First class food and I cant remember the last time I had service this good!!
Disappointing first visit with regard to food. Atmosphere and service were excellent but unfortunately the food not great. However will go back and try again to gain a more informed opinion. Restaurants are very much in the hands of the Chef on the night.
We had a wonderful dinner at Table 22. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The food was beautifully cooked a presented.
The food was more like pub food that had been heated up. Certainly not fine dining. Drinks over priced. There was a lack of atmosphere, we were a party of 6 so it helped. Would not recommend to anyone and will not be eating there for the foreseeable future.
Great service and food. Thank you
The food was delicious but the size of starter was very small - could have eaten it twice it was so yummy! The service was very good although as soon as we had finished our starters our plates were cleared and mains were brought out straight away which was the same for the dessert. We sat down at 8.30 and were out by 9.45 having eaten 3 courses. It would have been lovely if the evening had been drawn out a bit.
