The menu takes its influence from the current food trends popularized by the food truck scene across America. We want to play with the idea of 'American comfort food', where classic dishes are designed to make you smile when you see them on the menu.
The setting for a special occasion, as this was, is perfect. The view of the chaos of Times Square from the calm of the restaurant is wonderful, food and value were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Thanks to them all, we will remember it for ever
Food was very good and atmosphere was good. Person servicing us was not the most friendly. Did not seem happy or understanding when asked to remove cheese from the pizza. Towards the end of our meal he also placed our bill on the table whilst we were still eating dessert and hadn’t asked for the bill. It made us feel really uncomfortable and rushed to finish and leave. It was also my mother’s birthday and I had requested a small treat or surprise for her, I had also emailed about this and was told she would get a free dessert. She received nothing and no acknowledgement of my request or her birthday apart from the gentleman who seated us, noticed her 60th birthday badge, and said happy birthday. Overall, the food was good and the restaurant itself is decorated really well, with great views. But let down by the service.
Great view of time squares, good ambience and drinks
Too expensive for the horrible service. The waiter not only got our food wrong, he never even came back to check on us or offer to give us another drink. They were rude and not friendly at all. It's a shame for a nice hotel like that. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they change their staff immediately.
Amazing service! Had a fabulous evening!!
The place is majestic, the ambience is very nice, the area is top, but the service was AWFUL, is so sad that a place like this could be ruin by its employees. We arrive to the restaurant and I kindly asked the hostess Amanda Quezada to be seated on an empty table at the corner where I didnt see the sign reserved and explained that would be lovely to seat there since it was our last dinner she told me it was already reserved I told her that the sign of RSVP wasn't on the table, but she just walked us to the table she wanted, so I just relaxed and enjoy the ambience. So all the time we stayed there nobody seat in that table and some turists arrived later on, I heard they asked to be seated in that table and they did, so she lied to us cause the table was not reserved at all!!!! Maybe she was just not happy like even her face was like not enjoying her work like if you are going to be working with the public specially turists you better be nice and charismatic. Then the waiter arrived with the worst attitude ever a server could start serving a table, my husband asked him if he could removed the polenta on his plate since it has cheese and he is intolerant to casein...what a big deal for him! He treated us like if we never had gone to a Restaurant before, then I asked him if he could please call my kid's plate before us as a normal parent would do, but like he took it wrong or maybe he misunderstood and started treating me like if I was stupid saying like um I can't bring the food right now, cause they have to cook it first and he repeat that phrase twice in an arrogant way, until I just asked him if he really liked his job, cause I just couldn't believe his attitude so rude towards the people is going to pay for his service, I told him I was not a stupid and I clearly understand the food has to be cooked before servingit, but I just wanted that after ''obviously'' cooking my son's meal bring it to the table the fast as he could. Besides this two employees that shouldn't be working with the public maybe they could be working on the back but definitely not with the public, was amazing, the food, so exquisit, the drinks are so good. Sadly this happened to us in our last day on New York, I hope the managment will take care of this, since they are representing the hotel on top of that they have to be reminded to be nice, polite, respectful and don't be haughty with the clients, specially the waiter since he is living from the the tips not from the salary.
One of the best places to eat at in New York. The food was extremely good and the service was excellent.
My waiter was very slowly and not come to my table. It took about 25 mins to get the bill even after he asked if we were ready for the bill. I had to get up and bring him my drinks to get refills. We were celebrating a birthday and I asked if they did anything. He did bring us over something which I appreciate it but he charged us for the dessert but then didn’t give us the option of what to choose.
Beautiful view of Times Square on the rooftop area. Bigger menu when you dine inside. But definitely worth the wait to go outside, have a beverage and enjoy the view!
I brought my teenage granddaughters from Sweden to dinner at the Supernova. It was one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. I had been there once before when visiting NYC and loved it then too. Great view, quiet, good food and excellent service.
I booked several weeks ahead for my wife’s 50th. We decided to stop by in the day to check out our table. The morning manager had no idea about our reservation. Instead she kindly offered to book us in and said she would try to get us a good table. Not her fault but not good enough. It also looked just like a generic chain hotel breakfast room and not a unique dining venue so by the time we got to the street lobby I asked them to cancel the booking that you had messed up. Unimpressed. We dined at Mama Mia on 44th St and had an authentic experience. Glad I didn’t leave it to Novotel to arrange such an important event.
Zero stars for service. Will not be recommending this to anyone. Horrible experience with woman named Amanda. Might be the hostess. She was completely unprofessional. We made reservations early in the AM for our last night in NYC and she didnt even check our reservation. She just sat us like we had made a last minute decision to dine there. The table we were meant to sit at, by window looking at time square, our waiter said was reserved. But Nobody sat there the entire time we ate because WE WERE THE RESERVATION. If Amanda would have checked, she would’ve known that. When I brought it to her attention, she looked at me like I was stupid and treated me like I was bothering her while she chatted with the bartender about nothing. I tried to be as nice as possible but was met with attitude and disrespect. Also, the place had next to no one inside. Plenty of free tables. It was not like the place was super busy. Spoke to the manager to complain, but he had nothing to say. I will be leaving a review on yelp and trip advisor. As will other members of my party. I do not have high standards for food or drinks, I even enjoy the food trucks and street food, I never leave bad reviews because I get that it’s all about taste ...but to be treated so horribly by staff is absolutely unacceptable. This restaurant makes the hotel look bad. The beautiful location is wasted on this restaurant. After dining at so many incredible restaurants all over the city, I cannot believe we spent our LAST night at this awful place. I would hate for another family to make the same mistake.
No brunch when online said there was brunch
Excellent service with an unbelievable view of Times Square
Great food great view great atmosphere
Excellent view and great service but the food was extremely disappointing!
Views are beautiful and food is good but it is expensive
The restaurant's website promised "iconic Times Square views" and I'd mentioned in my reservation that this was a birthday dinner and requested a seat with a view. Instead, we got dumped right in the middle of the restaurant at a table we could have gotten if we had just walked in. It was just inches away from another table with two businesswomen who had just sat down and were having a work meeting. We asked for us to be moved, and they accommodated, but we got no view at all. In fact, the section of the restaurant that had the views was reserved for a convention so that made it disappointing. The meal was okay, but overall the experience was disappointing.
Servers were wonderfully accommodating and professional, but a bit disorganized. Food was better than it needed to be for a hotel resto, but the sense of space and atmosphere is really what you come here for. In a city full of small restaurants with tiny tables and mini chairs, this soaring space allows one to stretch out, get comfy, and enjoy a pretty solid meal.
Atmosphere was nice and service was great.
The food was excellent, seasoned correctly, very nicely flavored. The drinks were well made and tasty. Looking forward to another visit.
The pictures online and the reviews made it much more appealing than it was. We were kind of disappointed.
