About Stock Restaurant
Danny Millar, former head chef for Balloo Inns is behind the new Stock Kitchen & Bar in the listed Victorian market building. The chef, who has previously appeared on BBC's Saturday Kitchen and on the Great British Menu, promises a "taste of Belfast". The eatery's unique location makes it an attractive proposition. The food is simple and very much market and seasonal led.
Enjoyable lunch quiet atmosphere service efficient and friendly. Will go back.
Fantastic food and really friendly service. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful restaurant, lovely breakfast and friendly service. Will book again for dinner.
Excellent evening. Beautiful fresh food served by very friendly staff. Great to see Danny Millar cooking in the open kitchen.
Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Food was lovely and honestly didn't really expect Danny Millar to be cooking the food..so that was an added bonus. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely be back.
A very enjoyable meal of Cote de beef with whiskey sauce and thick cut chips Excellent friendly service A little quiet for a Thursday evening but worth a visit
Never disappoints - food is always first class, excellent service and such a friendly place. Thanks for a lovely evening Team Stock.
I chose from the pre theatre menu steak while i I requested it pink in future I’d take this steak medium to well The starter ham hock couquettes were delicious as was the Armagh Apple hazelnut crumble However while the wine was excellent (Argentina Malbec) £27 I was in my local wine shop in Armagh the next day and the very same wine was £10.99 very very disappointed
Excellent experience all round.
Fantastic restaurant fabulous food great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful lunch out with husband at stock restaurant .Both had mackerel pate for starters , Dover sole for sharing as main which was sublime .Best meal in my opinion. Husband had baked rice pudding with rubarb which he said was outstanding , for me , apple and cranberry crumble with hazelnuts - delicious . Fabulous service. Will definitely be back . Highly recommend.🥰
Good fresh fish (John Dory in this case) simply but beautifully cooked and presented. Just what's expected from a top chef in a market environment.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience with superb food and excellent service in spite of the unfortunate choice of evening - we had to battle with Storm Ciara to get there and then to get home! But it was worth it!
Our experience in Stock Bar and Kitchen was amazing from the time we arrived at the restaurant we were looked after so well by the friendly and hard working staff, our food was even better than we expected, we will definitely recommend Stock and hopefully return again very soon
Had a lovely lunch on a Saturday not too busy lovely menu beautifully cooked even though Danny millar was away.Pleasant staff would recommend and will be back.
Mash potato was poor, everything else very good and will be back
I enjoyed a lovely meal here for my husband's birthday. Service and food was excellent. Will definitely be back.
All 3 courses were absolutely beautiful. The food is go fresh and cooked beautifully. The wine and cocktails are also great and the staff are all extremely friendly. Will be back!
Had pre-theatre menu on Friday evening. Mixed views on overall experience- ham hock croquettes were quite fatty. Lentil dahl and cauliflower was good. Chicken with both lentils and mash was a bit 'confused' - the lentils were tasty on their own without needing mash. Fishcake and sole was good and the chocolate tart very good. I had thought the restaurant was meant to lean towards 'fine dining' however I would think 'good home cooking ' might better describe it. Young waiter very friendly and helpful and engaging- so I would like to thank him for his attention and service. Minor slip up on the bill- the pre--theatre offers glass of wine for £5 but was charged the full £6- a small but important point for the customer. And I know many places add on a 'discretionary ' service charge but this is often for larger groups rather than a table for 2 on a quiet evening- just my opinion and we opted not to pay it on this occasion.
Third time we've eaten in Stock and once again are very happy with the experience. Really enjoy being able to see the kitchen activity and appreciate how Danny engages with the customers at the end of service. Definitely to be recommended.
The wine tasting dinner was perfectly pitched, a relaxed convivial evening with a range of dishes showcasing quality local ingredients perfectly cooked and beautifully presented , a very interesting range of wine styles that paired perfectly with the food, service was attentive and friendly and added to a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone, our second visit and can't wait for the third . Thanks to Danny and the Stock Team, they truly know how to make a meal special
Great food great service. Highly recommended
The rhubarb rice pudding was divine
overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable night and a really good experience - delighted to hear that you have been mentioned in the Sunday Times Ireland for best restaurant - well deserved.
A really enjoyable meal with 2 friends before attending an event in the nearby Waterfront. A warm welcome, efficient, friendly service and great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.
