About Duke of York St Johns Wood
Eastablished in 1826, this landmark pub is located in the heart of St John’s Wood. Combining amazing food, great wine with friendly service, The Duke of York is a must see for anyone visiting the area.
Enjoy a candlelit meal, a dinner party in our private dining area or simply socialise with friends in the informal atmosphere of our bar.
Spend cold Winter evenings in the cosy warmth of the fire and hot summer days relaxing outside watching the world go by. The Duke of York is also a great place to come after seeing the cricket at Lord’s!
Staff were really lovely and tremendously helpful. We all had roasts, which were good, except one of the group had undercooked chicken and sent it back but this was dealt with very pleasantly by by the waitress, who was very apologetic and offered a complementary drink. Portions of chicken were really generous. Child's menu was good value. I had two kids with me and staff were lovely to them and about them.
A great time was had by party and the food was top notch.
Excellent evening could not fault anything
As always Enzo and the staff made us most welcome
The food is fabulous; especially the steak! Service is always excellent. It is a pleasure to recommend this pub.
Excellent Sunday lunch😋
The food was great value for St John's Wood and very enjoyable although for the prices you can't expect exceptional quality. The staff get a 5 star rating because even though our booking had been forgotten (not great!), they went out of their way to make amends and give us a good evening. Could be a little noisy on a Saturday - but only to be expected in a proper pub.
We had a lovely dinner on Sunday evening, thank you. Our party of 7 arrived after the Wembley NFL game, still dressed in our team gear, but were greeted with friendly staff and friendly customers. The food was delicious, most notably the small filet mignon I had. When our daughter had a funny turn and had to lie down and leave her dinner untouched, our waitress had no issues with boxing it for us to take away. Very friendly staff, cosy pub, delicious food. Thanks again!
Relaxing ambient atmosphere - pleasantly attentive service - not too fast/slow. Lovely food - lots of choice
Really enjoyed it and the steaks and service were excellent. Will be back next year.
Great meal. Best place for lunch when at Lords
Excellent. Just what we needed.
We love going to our neighborhood pub, The Duke of York. The food is always amazing as well as the service. We never hesitate to bring visitors or to recommend to others.
Fantastic evening with out of town family and our kids. The staff was super friendly and very helpful with all the questions. Food was superb, having ordered fish n chips (one of better I've had), steak and ale (best I've had) and linguini with prawns. All very good with a great ambiance.
Everything was amazing... The service, the food, their staff. It was a very pleasant experience ... Thanks a lot team..
Great service, always good value and very helpful staff. What's not to like?
We sat inside and we're served plastic glasses because of the cricket - we were three girls not going to smash glasses. The service was very poor and slow and the food not great quality. When I asked to take the service off the bill no one asked why or apologised. Such a shame
Great location and fantastic service and food.
The food and service is quite incredible. On match day, and it's absolutely heaving, to be served so nicely, politely and for the perfectly cooked steaks to arrive so fast it's superb. This place puts the big ultra expensive steak chains to shame.
We reserved a table for 6pm and arrived to a very busy restaurant. Our table was ready for us & we had a friendly & very helpful server. Food was delicious. There was 4 of us & we had between us the Tuna Nicoise, Fishcakes, Mozzarella &Tomato. One of us had the cod & chips which was a little dry & overlooked. Overall we had an enjoyable time.
Delicious food, especially the prawn and burrata starters. Good selection of choice on menu. The house white was a good bottle and well priced. At first we were concerned as the pub seemed very busy with people drinking at the bar, but we were seated around the corner which was quieter and had more of a romantic atmosphere. I'd come back to try more of the menu.
We had been to Abbey Road Studios - lunch at the Duke of York, especially the roast dinners, really rounded off the trip - thank you so much xx
We had the fish and chips. It was ok for what it is. It's definitely over priced (£13), in comparison to other restaurants and bars in the SWJ/Baker Street area. My friend didn't finish hers as it was too much batter for her and the waitress didn't even as why. We sat outside and it was lovely, although we had to rearrange the seats ourselves as the seats were wonky/uneven on the concrete ground (half inch) so the chairs are rocky. Otherwise, fine.
Great pub, so lucky to have such a great local, the food is excellent and the staff are so friendly :)
