About Steak of the Art - Bristol
We think our story is worth telling, because it shows just how much care we’ve taken in creating this amazing venue.
Sourcing the very best ingredients has been a real labour of love. We’ve met some amazing people and sampled some of the very best produce in the West Country.
Here’s the story of the food we cook for you:
For great tasting beef we need to source the best ingredients. We have searched far and wide for our beef and we believe some of the best comes from farms in Devon and Cornwall and on the Welsh Borders. From the minute we set foot on the farm we have chosen we knew these guys were right for us.
Warson Beef Farm's approach to farming mirrors our approach to food - pouring the same passion and attention to detail in to everything from the welfare of the animals to the maintenance of their buildings and farmland.
The steak was sensational and one of the best that we have ever tasted - in fact the whole meal was a feast for the eyes and the tummy! The restaurant itself is very quirky with some interesting decor ranging from Day of the Dead to La Belle Epoque. I only chanced upon the art gallery bit at the end of our visit and definitely think more could be made of this area. My only gripe? It felt a bit cold and we were sat in the direct line of the kitchens so the doors swinging open all the time kept up a steady breeze. Not quite the intimate meal we were hoping for - however other areas were cosier so maybe ask for this when you book! We will be back!
Beautiful Sunday roast
As you must know by now - the Steak of the Art is my local and one of the best eateries in the City
Fantastic evening private room for 17 of us great service great food great beer thank you to all staff fantastic from start to finish
Really nice food and atmosphere, great service.
Drinks were a bit pricey
Went for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we were given a great table in a private booth area and treated to a glass of wine and a special desert at the end. The staff provided an excellent service and really made the night special with the extra touches. We both had T-bone steaks and both agreed that it was one of the best steaks we had ever had. Really enjoyed our experience and again thanks to the team who made it so special and memorable
Very swift service and even provided plates (without asking) for the birthday cake. Would definitely visit again!
Excellent Sunday lunch. Few more carrots would have been nice but still highly recommended
We loved our visit delicious food in a great venue.
Excellent food. Service lacking some attention. Overall a pleasant evening. Would definitely return
Even though chips have to be ordered separately. You'd think you'll have something to accompany the steak, maybe mushrooms or grilled tomato, onions etc. The tiger prawns on a skewer were tiny and not with the money. My steak was slightly ruined, I ordered the mushroom sauce. I poured the sauce over my steak. After eating, I realised it was peppercorns and not mushroom. The chips was nice, but with an odd taste to them. Having painted skulls around you, is not something I enjoy eating my food with. What's with the skulls.
Fabulous steaks, excellent chips and wonderful desserts - this was our first visit and we weren't sure what to expect, but we really weren't disappointed. We were also really grateful that we could get our table early as we'd been in the rain and were soaked! We liked the booths - we were having a small family catch-up and it felt private but celebratory - and the service was excellent. Thank you for a bit of sunshine on a very wet day!
Great steak and beautiful place !
Very pleasant waitress. Good experience.
All round brilliant
Excellent food and service. Steak of the Art was booked for my 50th Birthday. The staff went out of there way to make sure I celebrated in style
Everything about this place was spot on. From the quality of food to the quality of service. Absolutely outstanding 👏🏻
The steaks are cooked perfectly and very tasty. Service was excellent as always. Main criticism is that when paying more for a decent steak it would be better to have something other than garlic bread included, just chips would be fine instead of having to pay for them. Also the blue cheese sauce did not taste of blue cheese and very tiny amount for £1.95!
The food was fantastic, apart from the garlic bread. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s meant to be but it was the texture of croutons very hard and not at all what we were expecting. The service was friendly and polite however our main courses were brought to us before we had a chance to finish the starters, we felt as if we were being rushed abit. We were also surprised at how everything was charged for individually, for example I was charged for a a full coke as well as my rum although there was only a small amount of coke in the glass. There was lemon in the first drink and then lime in the second, unfortunately both spoilt the taste of the rum and I would of preferred to have been given then option. I was also surprised and disappointed to be offered condiments but charged for bbq sauce. If this were a steak sauce which was an extra on the menu I feel I should of been informed as we would of had ketchup (I presume there would of been no charge for that?!) Besides the issues mentioned the majority of the food was delicious.
Best sweet potato fries, coleslaw and steam I’ve ever had!
Really good ribeye
Great food and place to eat.
Lovely Sunday roast, and really nice drinks. Staff were friendly and approachable which made for a great atmosphere to celebrate my mums birthday.
