About Steak of the Art - Bristol
We think our story is worth telling, because it shows just how much care we’ve taken in creating this amazing venue.
Sourcing the very best ingredients has been a real labour of love. We’ve met some amazing people and sampled some of the very best produce in the West Country.
Here’s the story of the food we cook for you:
For great tasting beef we need to source the best ingredients. We have searched far and wide for our beef and we believe some of the best comes from farms in Devon and Cornwall and on the Welsh Borders. From the minute we set foot on the farm we have chosen we knew these guys were right for us.
Warson Beef Farm's approach to farming mirrors our approach to food - pouring the same passion and attention to detail in to everything from the welfare of the animals to the maintenance of their buildings and farmland.
Service a bit slow on this occasion but food FANTASTIC as always
Thoroughly enjoyed it
Have been to your Steak of the Art to celebrate my birthday. I came last Sunday with my family for your Sunday roast. All 8 of us enjoyed our meals .My sister has a gluten free diet. I phoned before we came and asked if the roast would be ok for my sister, and was told she could not have the Yorkshire pudding & gravy. I asked if we brought some gluten free granules if the gravy could be made for her. You said “no problem” - she really appreciated that , as quite a few times she’s had to have a dry roast dinner. 6 of my family had the short rib of beef (which fell off the bone and was very tasty). My sister and I had the pork belly which was delicious. The service we received was excellent, again. Thank you.
Beautiful steak great service will be back
We held a birthday dinner here for 10 people and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating of our group and related requirements. Food was great, as was the wine and the service was attentive & friendly. I look forward to returning!
Quirky. Themed booths add an original touch. Good service. Excellent food! Shall be returning for my birthday in November with a party of friends. Private room available.
Great service, good with the kids and tasty food.
Had a lovely time, little bit pricey but otherwise great.
It's not cheap, but I don't mind paying a bit more for a guaranteed good meal. Having been here about 6 times now, that's what I've come to expect. If anything, the value has improved, as the portions seem to be larger. We visited early evening on a Friday, so it was very busy, with loud music, but within an hour, people had started to leave (I'm assuming it's a popular destination with nearby office workers), and the music was turned down, which helped the atmosphere. Great service, great food, and a stroll through the art gallery, after your meal, rounds off a lovely dining experience.
The meal was excellent, only downside was lack of choice of draught beer, cider and lager
Lovely food & well cooked steak. Nicely decorated and themed restaurant. The service was a little slow & had to ask/remind them for a few things, eg side salad that we ordered. Also when bringing out the food we wasn’t asked if we wanted any sauces etc & also had to ask for additional drink orders as we wasn’t asked. We was put on a table under 2 air con vents and had to ask for it to be turned down, the guy serving us said we was in the worst place and went to sort it out, it didn’t warm up quickly so we remained cold for our meal. The staff where however nice and polite.
Sarah was our waitress and she was very helpful and curtoius
Our server was very friendly. He made the experience well worth it. We will be back.
Love this place , great food , smiley happy team
Fab food, fab decor and a fab time. Not rushed. So good.
Lovely steak and great service. Cocktails are perhaps a little expensive. We had a fabulous dining experience.
Relaxing atmosphere Excellent food Promptly service
Really nice place, the waiter was lovely and very attentive. Little bit disappointed that there was no fillet steak available?
I came here with my other half for my anniversary meal. We hadn’t been to the Bristol area before and after a lot of research and reading of reviews we decided oN steak of the art. We tried to book a table (admittedly quite last mInute) and were offered either 5 or 9.30. We went for the 9.30 and found the fully booked issue not an issue a all -if anything a good thing due to the fac a lot of people must like this restaurant. Turned up and the table wasn’t even ready (we were a few minutes late) yet when we were seated to our table, the restaurant seemed a lot empty more empty than what I would have thought for a fully booked restaurant. Fast forward to the food and asked for cheesy garlic bread instead of plain which we were told was a possible item. I was disappointed - it looked as if someone had picked up a handful and thrown it/ drizzled it on top. Barely any cheese!!!! I ordered a gammon steak for my main - ideally I wanted a pulled pork main (it’s available in a starter and to add as an extra to a main but not as a main....). My OH ordered a steak. The steak was relatively nice considering the price we paid and the gammon st4sk wasn’t great. It had been overcooked and the fat on the edging was the only bit that tasted of anything. The meat was incredibly dry and tasteless. The chips left a lot to be asking for. They felt frozen and chucked in an oven. Bery hard in the centre. I won’t be returning and I am disappointed as I would’ve really of liked to recommended yourselves.
Plus : friendly staff & furniture. Very good Welsh rarebit. Crispy chips. Good meat for child. Minus : if you call yourself “steak pf the art”, you MUST have “top quality steak (and meat)”. Smoked brisket was salty, poor pepper and smoke flavour, It seemed boiled. I’m sorry, I’m not a “Pitmaster” but I love Bbq : trust me, this is not Brisket ! You can’t serve it! Lamb link could be better (especially if cooked at the moment, this seemed to have just warmed up) but not bad. Rib eye : I’m really sorry, it was...sad ! Small, small and thin cut, with little softness and little flavor. Compared to what really paid a disappointment. in England, I pretend to eat meat from my dream, not this ! “Bavetta” from child menu was really, really better !
For the price the steak I had was awful there was more fat than meat,
Lovely meal, came quick, friendly
We had a wonderful time, staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent!
