About The Bier Keller
The Bier Keller at Picardy Place is inspired by traditional German Beer Halls and has a wide offering of craft beers and German style street food along with knowledgeable friendly staff. The spiritual successor to Beer & Skittles - It's still the perfect place to relax and watch the game with a cold beer - showing all the big matches live in 4K on our many tactically placed widescreen TV's.
Excellent place. beer, staff and food are brilliant
great place nice staff, slightly expensive drinks
Great night had watching the footy, beer top notch service great.
Fantastic change from beer and skittles, friendly staff good drinks and food well priced also.
Great little venue for watching sport. Venue is rather hidden so unlikely you will stumble across it. The food is nice but would be nice to have a few more options.
As soon as we arrived for our pre booked table there was a rather large group sitting on part of the table who did not wish to move... and I actually felt obliged to allow them to stay seated since there was some room. In stead of the manager insisting that they politely move to allow our party to have our full space. The bar was not overly busy for a Saturday night and you were at least 10 minutes to get served. I found the bartender incredibly slow at making drinks and not to mention we were given a completely wrong drink when all that was ordered were 6 simple spirit & mixer. I had to then go back to the bar to get the drink correctly made.. and I was around a further 10 minutes at least... with the man having to step off the bar to get the mixer and I was also asked if i wanted ice in my drink... which was a room temperature vodka and cranberry (rather strange?) and if i wanted the mixer filled to the top?? I wad baffled by this! Please correct me if these are normal questions to ask?! From a glance it looked like most bartenders were incredible ill experienced. For a bar that is charging around £4 odd for a spirit mixer I would expect better than flat tonic from the soda gun and flat coca cola out of a pre opened 1.5L bottle. Highly lacking in class. Our plan was to stay there for a few drinks... however left after the first drink as I had seen enough. I understand that this is a place predominantly to drink a beer and watch sport... but we weren't asking for much!! The whole experience from start to finish was most unpleasant and I will not be returning and I will be sure to ward off any friends that are considering trying this place out.
People I made reservation with were very, very helpful - everything went smoothly. Thank you!
Ideal city center sports bar with great prices...4 pint pitchers were perfect..huge tellys for the fiotball and frendly staff...overall very enjoyable
Great Food and Drink, lovely staff. Highly recommended
The staff were extremely accommodating when we asked to move several times due to being too close to loud speakers!
Excellent food, drink and service from all of your staff. Will definitely be back again to watch rugby, and also at another time. Really appreciated how well you looked after us all.
We had a great time on Friday afternoon for a work leaving doo. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We particularly appreciated the £15 prosecco deal :)
Never got an email confirmation of the booking as was requested, instead we had to call to double check. Ran out of beers most of our party were drinking by 7pm, only 2 hours after opening and an hour after our reservation? We didn’t try the food as it seemed over priced. Service was very attentive The new open layout is lovely but does allow noise to travel I think, we were a very large party so was worried that we’d made other guests uncomfortable, though at times we were drowned out by the group of ladies sitting behind us.
Great place. Really enjoyed it. Definitely return on our next trip to Edinburgh
First time at the brasserie and will definitely be back
Had a booking for the World Cup final and it did not disappoint. Game was great but the food, drink and service was superb! Great day had by all. Definitely my new favourite sports bar
So glad we booked a booth for the World Cup final, the pitchers were great value for money and the deals they had on the food were amazing, especially the chips!! Will definitely book again in the future
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to steak on Friday night. The T-bone steak was one of the best I’ve ever had and the service was second to none. Can’t wait for our next visit.
Excellent food and service.
Bread for starter was stale, we waited over an hour for our main. One steak was alright but the other was really grainy and we weren't a fan of the overly smokey flavor (but that's just personal taste). The chips looked like the rubbish little bitty pieces you get at the bottoms of a frozen fries bag. The peas were good... Service was alright, but the complete rubbish about the neck cut (can't remember it's name) only appearing twice on each cow was hilarious... One on each side...Like duh! Unless of course a cow has four rump cuts for instance and my understanding of basic anatomy is wrong that's the same for every cut of meat?! Do you have alien cattle with more than two hind legs?! Lol. To be fair though the waiter was a lovely guy. Overall... We won't be back.
Fondue dish assembly was tatty. No candle under fondue . Had to ask for more chocolate. Had to ask for deduction from bill . It was 2 for 1 steaks on a Tuesday ...server said we should have said we wanted this at booking time or time of ordering. Food nice and chef happy to make small changes that was appreciated. Servers nice and pleasant . Lacking atmosphere as it was quiet on a Tuesday night ... a bit darker and some background music would help. If it was my business I would turn it into a cool bar and go with the single main restaraunt
