Amazing. Best place in Edinburgh for a steak
The food was amazing! I will definitely be coming back.
Very expensive, trying to be a top class restaurant but doesn’t achieve it. Food was out instantly, no time to enjoy atmosphere. Bread cake after the meal which was a little strange. Only had 2 steaks and a side each and came to £83. Because of instant service we were in and out in less than 40 mins I’d say. Quick was to spend nearly £100.
Excellent food and great drinks.. staff are very welcoming and friendly, will definitely be back and telling friends about it.
Leider etwas dunkel bei dem schönen Anbieter, dadurch Speisekarte schwer lesbar. Ansonsten sehr lecker und die deutschsprachige Bedienung einfach super. Grosses Lob. MfG Pfeifer
Lovely Oasis of modern gourmand in a bustling tourist city.
Excellent food, wonderful staff and exceptional service.
the food was excellent but a sneaky way of charging extra for fries ,sides and sauces at £4.00 for each side soon mounts up .why not include them in the price ? when you get a steak you expect chips or potatoes onion rings and mushrooms all in all it left a bad taste
nice interior design and ambience however lighting could be a little brighter in order to assist reading the menu ! Menu is a bit limited compared to other Steakhouses in Edinburgh. On to the food, my partners starter of tortelini sounded great until it arrived, 3 small pockets of pasta and a tiny amount of random salad costing £11 !! The steaks were cooked as requested but disapointingly tasted very salty, the sides also very expensive ie 5 onion rings costing £4 and sweet potato fries also very salty. The service was first class although when paying i dont think it is a good idea for the waiter to initially ask if you will be paying gratuities !! Overall a rather disapointing experience in comparison to others.
Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious meal. Fantastic dining experience.
A beautiful meal and experience every time!
Excellent reception and food
Henny our waitress was wonderful. We had a lovely evening out and will definitely be back.
This was a disappointing experience that was organised as a birthday meal. We sat down at 18:45 (quite early) and ordered 12 oysters, only to be told a few mins later that there were only 6 left in the kitchen!?! The wine that we ordered to have with the (6) oysters was served in warm glasses. The atmosphere was ruined by the number of badly behaved, loud children in the surrounding area. There was even a grown man at the table next to us that was playing videos on his phone at full blast (until we asked him to turn it down). Completely intrusive and the staff appeared to be oblivious. Perhaps most disappointing of all was the steaks we ordered, which were chewy and had grizzle. Not at all what you would expect from a restaurant called ‘Steak’. The staff were friendly, but none of them appeared to communicate with each other as we were asked the same questions several times. The overall offering / menu was not of the same caliber as it once was (must be at least 2 years since we last dined there). The “haggis” starter was odd - it was a cold dish and with hardly any actual haggis. Difficult to describe. Perhaps we just went along on a ‘bad night’ but it wouldn’t entice me to go back when there are so many other excellent steak houses in Edinburgh - The Chop House & Smoke Stack to name just two.
Par excellence once again. Best in town.
Lovely food, and the service was excellent.
Wine list should be improved
Excellent food and service. Lovely restaurant, can’t wait to go back!
A great venue for entertaining.Friendly, efficient service and best steaks in Edinburgh.
Service faultless, steak amazing but two things let it down, eating off a chopping board which is not practical, would much rather have a plate as I believe it is much more hygienic! and the chips are not really chips, they are more like scraps sadly, so was disappointed however, overall, amazing steak and service!
We had a great night and the chateaubriand was delicious. We wanted to try some red wine because we do not usually drink it and the waitress brought us two tasters which was great. We chose the Rioja. It was our anniversary and we were surprised with a little dessert plate that said ‘Happy Anniversary’ which was a special touch. :)
Fine dining at its best Staff do an amazing job and allow you time to eat and are not in your face Told everyone to eat here and I will be back
Visited for Mothers Day , we had the main menu and can't fault anything... Loved our visit and will be back soon.
