About Stanbrook Abbey Hotel
From heritage dining rooms to stylish lounges and a contemporary bar, there is always something to discover at Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester. Our newly refurbished restaurant, The Refectory, is a restoration of the nun’s original dining room and now serves a relaxed menu of modern British food, inspired by the season.
With an altogether more contemporary feel, the light bright and airy George’s Bar serves tasty bar food and an extensive drinks menu, from morning until night.
For that special occasion, our plethora of private dining rooms offer a variety of memorable settings for your birthday celebration, anniversary or business event, and those looking for a touch of indulgence can settle in to enjoy the time-honoured tradition of afternoon tea.
Fabulous Take-away- Tipsy Afternoon Tea! Delicious and unusual savoury items, different to the bog standard sandwiches normally associate with an Afternoon Tea, and the sweet items were beautifully made and presented. Stanbrook Abbey's scones really are the best - a slight crunch on the outside, with fluffy insides make them the highlight of the tea. We ordered for 4 people, and had plenty of cakes left over for the next day which was an added bonus.
Excellent take away Afternoon Tea, fantastic communication from ALL Staff Members would definitely recommend.
We had the Sirloin Beef Sunday Lunch takeaway....oh my goodness it was definitely worth the 29 mile trip to collect......from the presentation to the food itself......perfect! Thankyou Stanbrook Abbey for all the efforts you are making in these difficult times.
We had a takeaway Family Lunch last Sunday. The food was absolutely delicious beyond our expectations with our dietary requirements being catered for too. There was plenty of food (serves 6 people) and all this for a total of just £35 – fantastic value. I highly recommend you try the takeaway service during the current lockdown. We’ll be definitely using this service again!
A beautiful venue which we had not visited before. Sad that there were so few diners present, glad we got there before lockdown. Best of luck through the coming months.
Our wedding anniversary was made special by the welcome , lovely food & the very helpful young lady Who waited at our table. We will return soon.🌈🌈🌈
Your staff are excellent ....clean ....tidy ..wonderful place
Really enjoyable and safe experience!
This is my third visit this year for afternoon tea and I find the staff to be so pleasant and helpful. My guest this time has an intolerance to chocolate and is vegetarian but it was no trouble to the chef to make her a special afternoon tea. Everything is presented so well. we were hoping to come back for a Christmas afternoon tea but as we now enter lockdown we will have to see. Hope to see you soon.
The lightening in the refectory (restaurant) was far too bright, to the point it was uncomfortable with a large lantern shining down in the table and, due to the lack of guests, the room lacked atmosphere and forced us to almost whisper during our meal, but maybe for an ex convent that’s appropriate. The food whilst fresh and tasty, based on the quality and standard that what was served, was expensive and the wine astronomically over priced. I am not sure if the service was so impacted by the covid 19 restrictions or whether it is the norm but the staff were very inflexible and reluctant to first listen to then consider ones requests and very slow in their service. Overall, sadly disappointing - beyond the grandeur over the building, there are far far better places to eat
I feel a bit guilty only giving 4 for atmosphere, because part of the reason we went was because we thought it would be less busy and more Covid-compliant, which it was. The music was lovely, the room is elegant and the staff are delightful. THe food was excellent. As I am in the ‘extremely clinically vulnerable’ group, I can only go out if I know I am going to feel safe. This ticked all of the boxes. A really lovely evening.
A lovely Afternoon Tea in a beautiful venue with excellent service. I think more delicious sandwiches and slightly less sweet cake would be the only improvement I could suggest.
Sumptuous afternoon tea in a very relaxing atmosphere
A beautiful place and lovely occasion - the efficient staff remembered all my requests made at the time of booking. Delicious sandwiches, the most amazing scones and wonderfully light tasty cakes. Everything was thoughtful and showed attention to detail. Even when I thought I had already paid and left the building, I was gently and very politely asked to return to pay! Will definitely return.
It’s our first visit to Stanbrook Abbey Manor. We loved our afternoon tea which was delicious. It was made more special because of the wonderful service by Claire who was so attentive, efficient yet had a great personality throughout our stay! Thank you we loved it.
We were served by Claire and she made us feel so special and really looked after us. Thank you Claire!
We love visiting the Abbey and have returned many times since getting married here 4 years ago. Service in the bar was excellent. Staff were attentive and made us feel very welcome as always.
Our waitress Claire was super friendly and super helpful. She clearly loved what she was doing and really added to the whole experience!
Picnic so atmosphere not relevant. However the friendly and efficient service made us feel looked after and valued as customers. Food was delicious and plentiful.
Absolutely fantastic. Staff so welcoming and friendly. Room incredible. Excellent measures in place. We felt very safe. Food delicious. Good at catering for dietary requirements too. We’ve already been recommending it to our family and friends. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
Nice to be respectfully pampered, great service in beautiful surroundings.
Our afternoon tea was lovely, the food was perfect, the selection of teas was amazing and the staff were all brilliant especially Claire who was our main server and we couldn't have asked any more of her 10/10
We had an amazing experience yesterday, we went for a 50th birthday celebration for afternoon tea and our experience was fantastic. The food and atmosphere was lovely, and we had exceptional service from Claire during our time there! Will definitely be returning!
I was going to write to you anyway. We came yesterday for afternoon tea to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. We love the slate with the chocolates and birthday wishes on. We also enjoyed the variety of food and cakes. Personally I would like to have had more of the savoury sandwiches, but only because I am more of a savoury person than cake person!! It is not a complaint!. However my wife is the opposite, so that worked out for her which is the main thing. However what made things REALLY special was our waitress CLAIRE. She was so enthusiastic and friendly and really looked after us throughout even chasing around to find us after we left our scones behind! Claire is exemplary in her service and attitude, going well beyond what was required. We felt really really cared for and she made us feel very special. She would not even take the extra tip I wanted to give her! Please pass on our thanks to her for helping to make our afternoon very special! John & Angie Grayson.
Thank you again Stanbrook Abbey and Clare our waitress for making mum's 90th birthday afternoon tea so very special. Everything about it was stunning and the little extra touches were literally the birthday icing on the cake. We can not praise or thank you enough. Excellent food; first class plus service and wonderful ambiance. We have already recommended you for a friend's ruby wedding anniversary afternoon tea.
