About Stanbrook Abbey Hotel
From heritage dining rooms to stylish lounges and a contemporary bar, there is always something to discover at Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester. Our newly refurbished restaurant, The Refectory, is a restoration of the nun’s original dining room and now serves a relaxed menu of modern British food, inspired by the season.
With an altogether more contemporary feel, the light bright and airy George’s Bar serves tasty bar food and an extensive drinks menu, from morning until night.
For that special occasion, our plethora of private dining rooms offer a variety of memorable settings for your birthday celebration, anniversary or business event, and those looking for a touch of indulgence can settle in to enjoy the time-honoured tradition of afternoon tea.
Absolutely brilliant afternoon tea, will definitely be back. Thank you for the lovely service.
Wonderful afternoon tea, service was fabulous staff were so helpful adhering to our specific requirements to make a all round wonderful experience in a stunning setting. Thank you we will definitely be back.
Fascinating building to walk freely around in beautiful surroundings. Easy to find with plenty of parking. Staff were 1st class Sunday Roast was excellent! A most enjoyable experience, one that I want to have again soon. Thank you so much, Lynn Harwood-Hazel
No one offered the cocktails on arrival as quoted in our deal. Mistake still made when called to correct this. No information about the hotel site when checking in, I had to go back to ask for a floor plan. Staff didn’t seem very helpful or knowledgeable. Food at dinner including dessert was disappointing, couldn’t even eat the lamb served, and extremely over priced. Simple service was lacking. Breakfast was poor, sausages tasted as if they were reheated, hash brown was tough, terrible. Lights outside the building in the evening the night before where all switched off, so put us off having a walk around. Only the room itself was nice. Unfortunately, I won’t be recommending this hotel to anyone.
A lovely afternoon treat at a great venue. Lovely and friendly staff. Will definitely return!
I can recommend the afternoon tea. Probably a bit expensive with the glass of champagne but we went on a 241 offer. Quality of afternoon tea for £24.50 though compared to other establishments we've tried is a fair price. Lovely place for a special occasion.
Very civilised and delicious afternoon tea.
Staff lovely and friendly food and drinks amazing it’s the 3rd time we have had afternoon tea here and it’s hasn’t disappointed at any time
Lovely place to dine. Only grumble would be that I had 4 attempts at picking a bottle of wine before I picked one that was in stock and I found them to be rather expensive. Food lovely. Staff extremely attentive and helpful. Iliana was lovely.
We took my mum here for a champagne afternoon tea as a surprise for her 90th birthday. Everything about the experience was absolutely spot-on, food was delicious, beautifully presented, service was impeccable and staff could not have done more for us.
We very much enjoyed afternoon tea. Excellent service.
I've been several times for dinner & afternoon tea. When I came with a friend for afternoon tea in august, the staff were so attentive, had refills of hot drinks , food was lovely. This time the egg & cheese sandwiches had hardly any filling , didn't get one refills of hot drink & staff all disappeared at about 4.30 so had to look for someone to pay. Also I don't like that you add a service charge. I'd rather tip a member of staff if I've had good service not be made to with the bill.
We were surprised that so many noticeable details seem to have been overlooked. The brass arched lights over the tables throughout the refectory were very dusty & ours even had a cobweb. The afternoon tea looked appetising but the sandwiches were beginning to dry out. Other details also lacked the professionalism that we are used to in comparable local venues. Our experience was not bad but did not live up to our expectations.
Truly lovely afternoon , which my mother and I enjoyed very much. Fabulous hotel , such a beautiful location , attentive but not intrusive service and a delicious afternoon tea. I would highly recommend the Stanbrook abbey afternoon tea for an experience just that little bit different with that added touch of class.
Excellent champagne afternoon tea with my wife. Superb quality food and drink. Served by Joe who was friendly and attentive. An outstanding building, certainly the most memorable hotel in the Handpicked family that I have visited. A visit is highly recommended.
The whole experience was lovely from start to finish. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We have not been to this particular hotel before and I found it quite stark. Horrible reception area. The colours reminded me of a premier Inn. It was a let down. The service was very good. The starters were OK, but the roast potatoes were like bricks and the Yorkshire puddings were so dry and hard and no flavour. The beef however was lovely and plentiful. We have recently moved to Malvern and was hoping to use the hotel for dining sometimes, but unfortunately I was not enamoured and neither were our guests.
Lovely friendly staff beautiful surroundings
This is a really special place to bring someone for afternoon tea. My guest was thrilled. The history and attention to detail in refurbishing this property has to be seen to be believed. We will be back to stay
Chilled out venue to dine and relax. Food was of good standard enjoyed by both my partner and children. We will return soon.
It’s rare to receive such friendly & professional service as we enjoyed at our daughter’s birthday lunch for 17 guests yesterday. From arrival I was given excellent, impartial advice on the extensive wine list & found wines to impress our guests plus a superb mock-tail. All the staff were wonderful with the small children & very accommodating with parking the pushchairs. A small table was found for us to display the birthday cake & balloons. The food was plentiful, delicious & excellent value & the service efficient & very accommodating. From a family who dine out frequently & often at 5 star venues, I cannot recommend Stanbrook Abbey enough, it is quite unique in its style, venue spaces & attitude to guests, we can’t wait to visit again.
excellent sunday lunch my 3rd visit in 6 weeks will return soon
Fabulous afternoon tea in a beautiful setting, the staff in the restaurant were very professional and friendly and made us feel special.
My partner and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with a bit of sparkle. A little hobby of ours is afternoon tea. The atmosphere was lovely, the waiter (unfortunately didn’t get a name but he had a lovely ginger beard and great personality). If we have one criticism it would be that the sandwiches could use a touch more filling and softer bread. Other than that faultless will definitely be back again.
