Excellent deal though other deals of this nature, serve unlimited tea. This would make it excellent.
The dining area had the smell of cigarette smoke drifting in from large groups of guests smoking at the entrance to the hotel. This did affect our enjoyment of the afternoon tea we purchased.
Excellent food and service
Found the afternoon tea with baby bottle of prosseco disappointing. The food was already on our table before we even sat down and as a result the sandwiches were stale and we had to wait for fresh ones to get made. Also had issues as I had not printed the voucher. In other establishments the voucher is scanned straight from phone. I felt quite stressed.
Staff were very accommodating
Service and food were excellent. Restaurant is beginning to look a little tired although not a problem at the moment.
Slow service. We had booked for afternoon tea, poor selection of cakes and sandwiches and drinks extremely over priced.
Our experience was ruined by s rude staff member before we even found a table. The girl who greeted us was lovely told us to go and find a seat. In our way to find a table we were then greeted by a second woman who told us we weren’t booked in and then asked us our name, when we booked and snapped that we weren’t booked in. She then walked over to the bar grumping “that’s another afternoon tea in”. We were then left feeling annoyed and unwelcome and could not enjoy our afternoon tea. We have 3 young children and very rarely take time to get out and do something without them. We had looked forward to relaxing for an hour and instead were made to feel like school children who had just been told off by a teacher. The first girl who spoke to us and then served us our tea was lovely. The woman who greeted us with a moan is in the wrong job. For this reason alone I would not return as it completely spoiled our time out. The place itself was nice, and the food was reasonable my only other complaint would be that I don’t like prawns and my partner does but I had to give him most of the other sandwiches too as the prawns had spread over the other sandwiches too. Extremely disappointing experience. The funny thing is I tried to call and book before and was told I need to book online. If you are going to have online booking only at least make sure that the system works
No atmosphere and like a big cafe. Scones with jam and cream tasted as if they had been kept in the fridge for some time, not baked that day. Normally jam and cream served separate but it was already scraped on the scones, the rest was fine except the one little bottle of prosecco between 2, normally one each in other places. The lady we had serving us was very nice and made us feel very welcome even although our booking did not show and I did confirm it the day before.
Apart from being charged for 2 glasses of wine we didn't have Which was corrected straight away No other problems Staff excellent
God service in the restaurant very welcoming
Afternoon tea was very nice. Staff were very friendly and good service. Restaurant spotless.
Would be nice if there was china crockery instead of costa coffee cups with no saucer or spoon. Service was very good. Nice selection of cakes but scone was hard and cold and pre prepared with a small spreading of jam. Would expect to get jam and cream separately to spread yourself and the scone heated. Table was bare and clinical.
Afternoon tea was very good. Staff were very helpful with getting us seated. One type of sandwich which was not suitable was changed without any difficulty. Only minor point is that it would have been nice if we had been asked if we would have liked either some hot water or some more tea, but other than that it was a very enjoyable afternoon tea. Overall, very pleased.
Sandwiches were very basic and cheap
The bottle of wine wasent in the room, as said, had to phone reception for it, dinner was booked 7 30 there wasent any lamb, also no salmon , very disappointed,, got a chicken burger, dident enjoy the black burger, no vanilla ice cream , and the cheese board dident have a cheese knife when I asked for one they brought the wrong one,,, so disappointed
Very nice afternoon tea. Pleasant staff. Would highly recommend.
Afternoon Tea - sandwiches were very tasty and a good selection of fillings. The waitress made sure that there was a selection without butter as requested, which was nice as other places have the sandwiches made up. The cream scones were very nice too. The cake selection was a madeira cake and cheesecake which were good and a chocolate style traybake which none of our party of four tried as it was not to our taste. The service was good and attentive.
Lovely food and excellent service. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Restaurant clean and fresh as were staff. Excellent choice of food available which tasted beautiful and arrived hot.
This was my second time in both occasions there was no teaspoons of napkins. This time bread was hard as it sandwiches had been made up and left lying bit disappointed for a Hilton.
Went for afternoon tea was lovely value for money.
Service was good and relaxing place for lunch
Lovely girl serving very friendly and most helpful. Very relaxed atmospheres.
Lovely afternoon tea however one baby bottle of prosecco to share for £20 is a bit poor. The food was lovely there could have been a bit more variety within the afternoon tea
All staff were very friendly and very helpfull Meal was excellent and we all had an enjoyable evening
