Lovely hotel but it was let down by the service lady told me that someone would come and take my order but after waiting half a hour I had to go up and order food and drinks myself at bar
Ann Marie and all staff were exceptional in looking after us and taking care of our needs. A great afternoon . Thank you to all.
Firstly, would like to say the staff were lovely, nice atmosphere and service. Food was a big let down for us. Starters and desserts very good but the main definitely not. We were 3.30pm sitting so nothing was fresh. Kids options very poor. Kids entertainment finished shortly after our arrival so my daughter never got to see any of it unfortunately. Not sure if this was again down to us not arriving till 3.30pm but really feel all customers should receive all benefits as still paying the same money. Santa Claus was fab! He made a point of coming over to our table to see my daughter as he probably knew he would be away soon. Overall, could not recommend unfortunately.
Staff, food & facilities were all amazing
It was quite busy for the number of staff on duty, but the lady who served us coped well and was very pleasant. The afternoon tea was fairly basic, especially the selection of cakes, but still enjoyable.
We had a lovely Christmas day dinner. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Providing a very relaxed and joyful day. The entertainment for the children was amazing addition which made our 6 year olds day and allowed the adults to relax knowing the environment was so child friendly. The meal was beautiful which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to all the staff who worked on Christmas day.
Hi there, Just some feedback from christmas day. 2018, We found the staff lovely and welcoming but we were disappointed in the venue and food. We noticed on the way out that your back room was all set up beautifully. i feel for the 2.30pm sitting we had was a lower standard of restaurant compared to the room at the back. The carvery was poor and very little choice. I am very disappointed as me and my family had been looking forward to our special day. Look forward to hearing back from you. Kind regards William.
We walked in to what can only be described as a wonderful setting. Team were immediately available and friendly and that continued throughout the afternoon. We simply could not fault our afternoon. A huge thank you to all the team at The Strathclyde Hilton and see you next year.
Lovely afternoon. Food delicious and staff were great. Would highly recommend the afternoon tea.
Looking forward to returning
scones so hard they could be used to hammer nails and were inedible, sandwiches certainly not fresh, on white bread and very limited, one 20cl bottle of prosecco between two given when the deal was for 75cl and then server argued about it. Had to buy another 20cl bottle at the outrageous price of £9.95. So bad
Excellent deal though other deals of this nature, serve unlimited tea. This would make it excellent.
The dining area had the smell of cigarette smoke drifting in from large groups of guests smoking at the entrance to the hotel. This did affect our enjoyment of the afternoon tea we purchased.
Excellent food and service
Found the afternoon tea with baby bottle of prosseco disappointing. The food was already on our table before we even sat down and as a result the sandwiches were stale and we had to wait for fresh ones to get made. Also had issues as I had not printed the voucher. In other establishments the voucher is scanned straight from phone. I felt quite stressed.
Staff were very accommodating
Service and food were excellent. Restaurant is beginning to look a little tired although not a problem at the moment.
Slow service. We had booked for afternoon tea, poor selection of cakes and sandwiches and drinks extremely over priced.
Our experience was ruined by s rude staff member before we even found a table. The girl who greeted us was lovely told us to go and find a seat. In our way to find a table we were then greeted by a second woman who told us we weren’t booked in and then asked us our name, when we booked and snapped that we weren’t booked in. She then walked over to the bar grumping “that’s another afternoon tea in”. We were then left feeling annoyed and unwelcome and could not enjoy our afternoon tea. We have 3 young children and very rarely take time to get out and do something without them. We had looked forward to relaxing for an hour and instead were made to feel like school children who had just been told off by a teacher. The first girl who spoke to us and then served us our tea was lovely. The woman who greeted us with a moan is in the wrong job. For this reason alone I would not return as it completely spoiled our time out. The place itself was nice, and the food was reasonable my only other complaint would be that I don’t like prawns and my partner does but I had to give him most of the other sandwiches too as the prawns had spread over the other sandwiches too. Extremely disappointing experience. The funny thing is I tried to call and book before and was told I need to book online. If you are going to have online booking only at least make sure that the system works
No atmosphere and like a big cafe. Scones with jam and cream tasted as if they had been kept in the fridge for some time, not baked that day. Normally jam and cream served separate but it was already scraped on the scones, the rest was fine except the one little bottle of prosecco between 2, normally one each in other places. The lady we had serving us was very nice and made us feel very welcome even although our booking did not show and I did confirm it the day before.
Apart from being charged for 2 glasses of wine we didn't have Which was corrected straight away No other problems Staff excellent
God service in the restaurant very welcoming
Afternoon tea was very nice. Staff were very friendly and good service. Restaurant spotless.
Would be nice if there was china crockery instead of costa coffee cups with no saucer or spoon. Service was very good. Nice selection of cakes but scone was hard and cold and pre prepared with a small spreading of jam. Would expect to get jam and cream separately to spread yourself and the scone heated. Table was bare and clinical.
Afternoon tea was very good. Staff were very helpful with getting us seated. One type of sandwich which was not suitable was changed without any difficulty. Only minor point is that it would have been nice if we had been asked if we would have liked either some hot water or some more tea, but other than that it was a very enjoyable afternoon tea. Overall, very pleased.
