When we first arrived not many people at the hotel where sure how the voucher worked. There was one women trying to serve the drinks and food along with taking the orders. This was very slow and she looked totally over worked i.e she said let me get you a steak knife and returned with vinegar ? The drinks where very slow on coming out to us we waited at least 10 minutes which is along time just for a drink especially after being in the pool and sauna. The facilites are just not what they used to be which is a total shame.
STAFF WERE PLEASANT AND POLITE,NOT PUSHY OR ALL OVER YOU ,WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A SPECIAL MENTION FOR ANNMARIE AS SHE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY KINDER OR FRIENDLIER.
We booked the afternoon tea for four. There was plenty to eat and staff were very attentive, in particular Anne Marie. We had a lovely time.
Very pleasant afternoon tea and attentive service.
Very good afternoon tea. Staff very polite and helpful very warm welcome from the staff member greeting us on arrival . Food very fresh and plentiful.
Staff were so friendly lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone who served us and made us feel so welcome.
Poked online. Got an online reminder of booking. On arrival, staff were unaware of booking. Thankfully, the hotel was not busy. On arrival we were asked for ‘vouchers’? Didn’t book with vouchers. My wife and I met at the same hotel 20 years ago. So I thought I’d surprise her going there 20 years later.... mistake. How the service has deteriorated.
Really enjoyed the leisure and lunch package with 5pm.co.uk we plan to do it on a regular basis
I don't wish to be too harsh. Your staff were very pleasant but as far as "afternoon tea' is concerned, you'd be best to exclude it from your set-up. Stick to what you know best eg accommodation and spa. We've been at 'lesser' establishments and they had the ambiance and the true experience which were totally lacking with you. Although the sandwiches were fresh enough, there was no imagination used. The scones were heavy and had been prepared earlier, I suspect. The cakes ?? No china teacups and teapot etc. Don't advertise for 'Afternoon Tea' experience unless you can provide the atmosphere and past Hilton quality! Most disappointing.
One course....had to ask if the gluten free menu was included in what we were allowed......our server went away to ask .....it was! Food was ok!
We had afternoon tea and the service , food and atmosphere was first class We’d like to give a particular mention to our waitress Shirley .. who was wonderful and is an asset to the hotel .. if only more hotels /restaurants had more staff like her !! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon ... we’ll be back , that’s for sure !
Enjoyed my first experience with Hilton but thought voucher stated glass of processco
Thoroughly enjoyable visit to the Double Tree by Hilton, Strathclyde. The afternoon tea was really tasty and the service excellent. It’s great that the Hilton brand offers confidence in their product.
Three stars for service only. Staff served afternoon tea for four - mini sandwiches, scones & cakes on three tier plates. One plate had 3 mini cakes between 2 but why not 4? Had to wait another 20 mins for tea & coffee. Lady who served us was very pleasant and helpful. Soft drinks can was £3 ! I suppose with what we paid it was okay but definitely not if paying the full price. Won’t be visiting again for afternoon tea I’m afraid.
My wife, mother in law and daughters really enjoyed their afternoon tea and said they would definitely go back
Staff and food perfect
Had a lovely afternoon tea. The kids had to come with us last minute and the staff were very accommodating to them so thank you for that. The only issue that we had which isn’t a huge deal is the table wasn’t ready for us arriving so the service was a bit slow for bringing out drinks and water and then our afternoon tea but other than that the staff were very pleasant and couldn’t do enough to help us. We had a lovely afternoon and the food was really nice. Everyone really enjoyed it
Could have done with less cakes and more sandwiches.
Good choice of food but scones were not very soft and the tarts were mush
Andrew and Ann Marie were just lovely. They could not do enough for us. It made our visit extra special
Great. Accommodated my young son and our egg allergy. Friendly and helpful staff. Had fruit for 2 instead of cake and think that could be new trend! Highly recommend.
Vegan cake option was sorbet. Not really an afternoon tea.
Bought this afternoon tea deal through Groupon which was half the normal price. I would have been disappointed with the choice if I had paid full price as cakes and sandwich choices were really basic. Service was fantastic and staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We had afternoon tea...atmosphere was fantastic, staff were friendly.. Sandwiches were a bit dull, no meat. coffee was great, but tea was served in big mugs, instead of elegant cups....cakes were fantastic... We go out a lot especially for lunches/ afternoon tea...this was ok, but a bit lacking in finesse....shame because the hotel looks fantastic...
