About som saa
Nestled in an old fabric warehouse near to Spitalfields Market,
som saa is a unique type of restaurant.
We use seasonal British produce and quality Asian ingredients to prepare regional thai dishes with uncompromising flavours.
We are fascinated by old cooking techniques, lesser known dishes and unusual recipes.
Fantastic food, great staff, fun place to eat.
The food here is definitely spicy, but definitely delicious!
Great food would definitely recommend.
Loved the bbq’d seabass, the oyster spinach and the papaya shrimp salad. And the sticky rice oolong. Enjoyed in the lovely space that is som saa. All of the staff are wonderful and very friendly too. And they advised me which dishes contained molluscs so I can avoid due my intolerance to them. Overall a perfect meal. They really have thought of everything.
Always outstanding, friendly service with a warm welcome, and the food is next level - and should be Michelin starred, in our opinion!
Gorgeous food and the staff were delightful. Will be back!
Great food. Loved all the dishes. Evening slightly marred by some blips in service - a v long wait time for desserts after we’d ordered them (over 30 minutes) and we had to ask for bill twice.
By far the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The flavours are authentic yet felt inventive. It all felt new and unlike any typical Thai menu. Very refreshing. The service was excellent and the decor suited the whole experience.
I love this restaurant so much! The food blows my mind with it's heady fusion of flavours and spices and although it's a little bit pricey, I always feel like I've had a real treat when I eat there. Luckily it is very close to my office so I will be returning as much as is feasibly possible.
Ridiculously tasty, very good value, with really good service and a great atmosphere. We had the £35 tasting menu which I would highly recommend on a first visit to sample many of the dishes - and there was plenty of food. We went as it’s my friend’s favourite Asian restaurant in London and I can see why!
Great place! Good food and Very accommodating ~
Brilliant food and service, will be back, thank you!
my favourite restaurant!
Absolutely one of the best places for a spicy lunch in London. The decor may be a tad "Shoreditch 2003" and there are occasionally curiously large numbers of noisy babies in pushchairs. But the food and the service are faultless. Superb. And, to be fair, almost everywhere else is a tad "City 2019" and full of curiously large numbers of noisy men in suits.
Food still excellent, the atmosphere is somewhat lacking compared to the past few times i've been (but this was a monday night)
Great place. Dishes were very tasty and presentable. Drinks were devine and staff attentive. Free birthday dessert. Verry happy customer
Thanks for a brilliant dining experience, the staff were incredible. Food as always was the bomb.
Outstanding food, drink and service!
Really amazing food, my Dad said it made him want to go back to Thailand and I haven’t had Thai food that good in the last 2 years. Well recommended and well appreciated.
Fabulous evening.. sharing menu was fantastic.. defo recommend and will be back thank you
Amazing in every way. Food astonishing, Great wine - we were recommended an excellent pairing wine - which with very spicy food is surprising. Service fantastic. Not sure we can go anywhere else for Thai food from now on.
