About som saa
Nestled in an old fabric warehouse near to Spitalfields Market,
som saa is a unique type of restaurant.
We use seasonal British produce and quality Asian ingredients to prepare regional thai dishes with uncompromising flavours.
We are fascinated by old cooking techniques, lesser known dishes and unusual recipes.
From the initial booking to the after service everything was amazing! Reservation process was super easy for our birthday dinner, the team was on it! Food and drinks incredible and service on the night really good! Highly recommend! Will definitely be back
Great variety of food and at a good price
Fantastic food, fantastic service! Mary, our server, was delightful and super sweet. She gave us great recommendations for our meal, also she gave us super recommendations for food for the rest of our trip to London. Couldn't have asked for more.
Highlights were the mango salad and the dessert (rice and a jackfruit custard I believe). Fantastic!
Superb inventive food as always. One of the best Thai restaurants in London
All the dishes are delicious. In particular, the deep fried sea bass is superb! The desserts are delectable!
Best Thai food I’ve ever had in London!
The staff reserved us a table in the bar when they needed the table back. Lovely food service by super friendly and professional staff. Will be back.
Beautiful food that lingers in the mind for weeks! Som Sa has become one of my favourite places to eat. Service is excellent and very friendly.
The food was fantastic
Our waiter was meticulous in ensuring that my dad's prawn allergy didn't get in the way of our celebratory meal, and on top of that we loved the food.
Your staff are fantastic and knowledgeable! The food is authentic and delicious. The wine was perfect, and overall the experience was pretty damn near perfect! Thankyou : )
Great food, one of the best Thai dishes I had in London
Service was great!! Food was amazing! I love Som Saa!
Our meal was amazing, thank you!
The good was stunning. But the service was quite rushed and haphazard. The waitress did not explain the dishes well, saying everything was delicious but could not explain. Said the turbot curry was spicy but it was actually sweet. And she took our dessert order as the kitchen was closing and we said could we wait at least 10 mins after our mains and it came immediately after the main plates were cleared. We were so full and had to eat the dessert immediately lest it melted.
Delicious food and interesting recipe
We had a diner for 5 persons and choose the £35 set menu. Although the food was quite nice I am not sure how we had handful size bowls to share between the 5 of us and about 8 portions of rice to stuff us. Once again food was good but definitely too expensive regarding the portions. Shame.
Food good as it was on my previous visits. But a number of service errors around drinks (being charged for one we did not order, receiving one we did not order and having to chase up on one we did!). A shame but an easy sort.
The food is faultless and a great journey through the tropics. Aromatic and authentic, it takes me back to South East Asia where I grew up. Another highlight is the service - friendly, impeccable and genuine. I get the feeling that the front of house staff are very happy to be working at som saa and with each other. I liked their enthusiasm a lot. The restaurant decor / furniture is the only aspect that could be improved but it doesn't take away from the excellent dining experience. 10/10 would recommend to friends & colleagues. Hope to visit again.
One of the best meals I ever had and just such a great time. The service was incredible - such a top notch team who seem to sincerely love what they do. We love you Adriana! - You took care of us and made the best recommendations.
Really delicious Thai food - clean flavours.
