Staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive!! I will visit again !
We visited for a Vegan High tea on a Saturday afternoon. The high tea was delicious but I did feel the service was lacking. In arrival we waited for over 5 minutes to be shown to our reserved table. We were served quickly but gauchly after that. The tables were not cleared even after we ordered cocktails which were very good. Perhaps there were too few staff to deal with the number of people on the day or perhaps staff were new but a bit more attention to service is needed.
your staff were lovely and very attentive
We enjoyed a lovely vegan high tea at the Soiree at Sofitel Wentworth. This is a review of the vegan high tea only. The food was very good, we especially enjoyed the apple filled puff pastry, the chocolate cake, the scones, the dairy-free whipped cream. Tea selection was quite good too, with unusual varieties. We take away a star though for a couple of reasons. First is that they ran out of vegan cream cheese, which is on the menu and we were looking forward to this. Would have appreciate a closer substitute to this than avocado. Also, some of the sandwiches were on the "healthy" side, such as grain bread with lots of veggies, would have been nice to balance it with some vegan cheese. Vegan doesn't always mean veggies or healthy ;) Even cucumber + dairy free butter on white bread would be lovely. Still very impressed at the effort they have put in and enjoyed it very much. Service was okay, when I arrived before my friend, the server looked confused and pointed at our booked table instead of walking me to it. She followed along after I started walking to it. We interacted with her a couple of other times and she was nice, but very awkward seemed new or like she was filling in for a position she doesn't normally do. A more senior woman who served us our food was excellent though, very knowledgeable. Atmosphere is also very nice, quiet and smells great, the perfume they use around the hotel smells very authentically french. Overall a very good experience and would return. We hope the Sofitel continue to offer this vegan high tea and consider offering different variations in the future.
Hosted a drinks reception at the Soire bar and the staff were absolutely amazing! From Craig to Mel to the bar staff they were incredibly professional and nothing was too much! Thank you for helping me run such a great event!
For a hotel to present a high tea of such a low standard is unacceptable. You need to address staff training and present the food in a manner which represents 'high tea'
I would have really preferred the normal high tea rather than the Archibald as i had a child with me. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Where we supposed to get tickets to the Archibald exhibition with the high tea ?
Relaxing environment with great food and good vale.
The high tea was nice however felt pre made. For example the scones were cold and when asked for them to be warmed up tasted stale afterwards. There wasn’t much savoury dishes and felt cold like it had been refrigerated and not made fresh.
Above expectations in all departments despite being the minor player in the Hotel Far better experience and value.
Lovely food and friendly service. The place is quiet and excellent for business meeting.
Would cone back for the crispy mushroom risotto balls, the eggplant and bean dip and the real calamari, lightly battered.
Made a booking on the morning of the 30th for a high tea for 5 people. Received a confirmation via email. Upon arrival I was told they could not find any booking, I showed her the email confirmation and she said that she didn't have any booking and we had to prompt her to further investigate. We were told it was too busy for the chef so we were not accommodated. She told us that bookings are not to be made within 24 hours which i didnt see on the website at the time, yet I made a booking and it was confirmed. This was for a birthday and you can imagine our disappointment upon learning this. However we were not offered any solution or offered a seat in the restaurant (which was mainly empty) for lunch We were told by the hostess she doesn't know who to talk to so she can't deal with it. We asked for a a manager and she wandered around, talked to someone in the bar, came back and we were told that there was nothing that could be done. Her attitude was very disappointing, she was almost bored and lethargic. She has no remorse, nothing was offered in terms of a solution. She was very dismissive and even shrugged her shoulders at us. Would not recommend and would not return
Tried to call and book but was told No. booked online instead. Food was sensational as always. My only small complaint was the rounded chairs are uncomfortable so it was hard to relax. One of the cloth chairs would have been much nicer.
Lack of staff, the food was definitely not 5 star comparing the nearby Intercon and Sir Stamford.
Was very disappointed with the food and had to wait for it The menu hasn't changed for such a long time Would be nice to see something differemt. Staff were apologetic and offered a complimentary sweet
The club sandwiches and burgers were beautiful. Elegant atmosphere. Services were superb. We love Sofitel :)
The gurger and sandwitch are great!
I had a poor first experience two weeks ago but Soirée made up for it with stellar food and service at dinner last night. The atmosphere is hard to beat in Sydney and the food is great for what is typically an ordinary experience at five star hotel restaurants.
Had the Wentworth high tea was sensational
Service was excellent, served by canadian lady, my visitors came fr canada, it made them feel soo good too.
Amazing service and food. Perfect activity for a rainy afternoon. Would definitely come back again.
I was extremely disappointed
Staff very accommodating. My friend loves her rice and we just jokingly ask if they have rice as it’s not on the menu but they made sure and went out of their way to serve us what we requested.
We are regular High Tea takers and have been to most of the city hotels in our bi-annual birthday treats. It is always a little disappointing when the high tea is served in the lobby bar, but it was a nice enough space. The service was good but considering how quiet the bar was, we had to wait a long time to be served. We were early but that really shouldn't have meant we had to wait for our food. On the food, we were very disappointed by the scones but the other treats were tasty though both the lemon and grapefruit tarts very very tart! you have been warned ;)
