Staff very accommodating. My friend loves her rice and we just jokingly ask if they have rice as it’s not on the menu but they made sure and went out of their way to serve us what we requested.
We are regular High Tea takers and have been to most of the city hotels in our bi-annual birthday treats. It is always a little disappointing when the high tea is served in the lobby bar, but it was a nice enough space. The service was good but considering how quiet the bar was, we had to wait a long time to be served. We were early but that really shouldn't have meant we had to wait for our food. On the food, we were very disappointed by the scones but the other treats were tasty though both the lemon and grapefruit tarts very very tart! you have been warned ;)
I am a regular client as the leading newspaper I work for holds our flagship conference series at the Wentworth. Given the standard of food provided as part of the catering for those, I was disappointed by the quality of the high tea I was served this weekend. The scones were so rock-hard stale they were inedible (with no exaggeration). This was our main complaint, although for the price I would have expected loose-leaf tea. The sandwiches were fine; there could have been more of them to balance out the underwhelming sweets. Without the scones it would have been a bit meh, but with (presumably) day-old rock-hard scones it really was a disappointment. Sad to say as I love the Wentworth.
Highly recommend. The high tea was lovely and it came with great service.
A relaxing lounge bar atmosphere in a sophisticated setting. The barramundi main course was a perfect dish suggested by our server. Wonderful cocktails too!
Always pleasant with reasonable choice of food
Excellent food, great service
Best High Tea in Sydney!
My guests and I thoroughly enjoyed a Wentworth High Tea, with a bottle of sparkling wine, on 20 November. We were presented with an amazing selection of finger food, both savoury and sweet and the food was delicious. The tea was served in lovely, delicate, china.
the service was great. the birthday treat was a special touch which I appreciated
Courtney who looked after us was a credit to the restaurant. Attentive yet gave us time and space. She recommended food all of which was superb. Thank you.
A little bit overprized, but very nice atmosphere and service. Food was good too.
It was little bit pricy but we were happy overall.
Normally we love the sofitel but this last experience was quite disappointing. We had the Evita high tea which stated on the menu that the scones came with jam and cream but when we got our high tea the was no jam or cream to be seen. We had to wait a really long time for the waitress to come back and serve us that we got up and walked over ourselves to ask for some tea and the cream and jam. We were advised that the tea and cream and jam would come out shortly. The tea came within a few minutes and the waitress advised that the cream and jam should be out in 10 minutes. She came back out again and advised us that the chef said there was none? We were super disappointed as scones are quite dry and can't be eaten on their own so they were just left there.
Great atmosphere, good food but awful service.
It was my worst experience at high tea Food was way under average. Felt like the macaroons and scorns were from supermarket. Scorns were so dry and hard. The other bits, we didn’t even touch them. Wait staff asked us what tea or coffee we would like to have but didn’t introduce the selection of the teas or coffees. Service was poor. Wait staff asked me to pass the tea cups and cutlery to her. Anyways not worth the price at all. Will never never go there again!
thankyou so much for accommodating a couple of out of the ordinary requests so well. it really was above and beyond. We all had such a fantastic stay. Please thank the staff again kind regards Jeanine
Thank you especially to Robert and all the staff who look after us so we’ll. Pip
The service was friendly and the Achibald themed high tea was truly a work of art!
Service was the best we’ve had ever!
Excellent food and good service
I would not recommend it at all , firstly I ended up not dinning at all. I rang an organized a high tea for my self and especially my daughters birthday and graduation, it was suppose to be a great day and experience for her,I specific said to the receptionist of the high tea I did quit get her name, that I wanted it to be elegant in a nice room or restaurant were there was a view or a nice bright background , and to my understanding she said that she will organize that for me. I also said is it going to be the same as I saw on your high tea internet page with table clothes and nice cutlery and also with flowers she said yes.I asked for two balloons I got that but that was about it. When we arrived it was in the Library with only one table set up they said that there would be full room of people there was only, a man sleeping in the background on the lounge. That felt like a dungin so depressing ,that was not a bright room high tea I asked for. My daughter got up and left and started to cry, you rued her birthday she was so upset and even right now she is very still sad and unhappy. She did not get any high tea and refused to go anywhere else with me because she is angry with me now. I told the high tea receptionist that we don't have much family and I am coming from far on a tight budget and I was prepared to pay $140.00 for two but instead you people at wentworth Phillip st Sydney rued it for my daughter. What do you have to say about that? And how are you going to repay me for upsetting my daughter on her birthday How can I fix that , I am waiting for manager to respond to me back. Helen
Our high tea was wonderful. While we had to wait some 20 mins resulting from an admin error, the staff were most apologetic & provided a glass of sparkling while we waited. Food was fresh & delicious. Thank you
Easily one of the best High Tea places in Sydney - great themes too.
