About Soiree at Wentworth
Inspired by 60s fashion and design icons, expect kitsch and classic cuisine, playful cocktails and sexy 60s sours.
Escape the after five rat race over some chilled grooves, or meet for high tea, lunch, or a late night out.
The high tea was nice however felt pre made. For example the scones were cold and when asked for them to be warmed up tasted stale afterwards. There wasn’t much savoury dishes and felt cold like it had been refrigerated and not made fresh.
Above expectations in all departments despite being the minor player in the Hotel Far better experience and value.
Lovely food and friendly service. The place is quiet and excellent for business meeting.
Would cone back for the crispy mushroom risotto balls, the eggplant and bean dip and the real calamari, lightly battered.
Made a booking on the morning of the 30th for a high tea for 5 people. Received a confirmation via email. Upon arrival I was told they could not find any booking, I showed her the email confirmation and she said that she didn't have any booking and we had to prompt her to further investigate. We were told it was too busy for the chef so we were not accommodated. She told us that bookings are not to be made within 24 hours which i didnt see on the website at the time, yet I made a booking and it was confirmed. This was for a birthday and you can imagine our disappointment upon learning this. However we were not offered any solution or offered a seat in the restaurant (which was mainly empty) for lunch We were told by the hostess she doesn't know who to talk to so she can't deal with it. We asked for a a manager and she wandered around, talked to someone in the bar, came back and we were told that there was nothing that could be done. Her attitude was very disappointing, she was almost bored and lethargic. She has no remorse, nothing was offered in terms of a solution. She was very dismissive and even shrugged her shoulders at us. Would not recommend and would not return
Tried to call and book but was told No. booked online instead. Food was sensational as always. My only small complaint was the rounded chairs are uncomfortable so it was hard to relax. One of the cloth chairs would have been much nicer.
Lack of staff, the food was definitely not 5 star comparing the nearby Intercon and Sir Stamford.
Was very disappointed with the food and had to wait for it The menu hasn't changed for such a long time Would be nice to see something differemt. Staff were apologetic and offered a complimentary sweet
The club sandwiches and burgers were beautiful. Elegant atmosphere. Services were superb. We love Sofitel :)
The gurger and sandwitch are great!
I had a poor first experience two weeks ago but Soirée made up for it with stellar food and service at dinner last night. The atmosphere is hard to beat in Sydney and the food is great for what is typically an ordinary experience at five star hotel restaurants.
Had the Wentworth high tea was sensational
Service was excellent, served by canadian lady, my visitors came fr canada, it made them feel soo good too.
Amazing service and food. Perfect activity for a rainy afternoon. Would definitely come back again.
I was extremely disappointed
Staff very accommodating. My friend loves her rice and we just jokingly ask if they have rice as it’s not on the menu but they made sure and went out of their way to serve us what we requested.
We are regular High Tea takers and have been to most of the city hotels in our bi-annual birthday treats. It is always a little disappointing when the high tea is served in the lobby bar, but it was a nice enough space. The service was good but considering how quiet the bar was, we had to wait a long time to be served. We were early but that really shouldn't have meant we had to wait for our food. On the food, we were very disappointed by the scones but the other treats were tasty though both the lemon and grapefruit tarts very very tart! you have been warned ;)
I am a regular client as the leading newspaper I work for holds our flagship conference series at the Wentworth. Given the standard of food provided as part of the catering for those, I was disappointed by the quality of the high tea I was served this weekend. The scones were so rock-hard stale they were inedible (with no exaggeration). This was our main complaint, although for the price I would have expected loose-leaf tea. The sandwiches were fine; there could have been more of them to balance out the underwhelming sweets. Without the scones it would have been a bit meh, but with (presumably) day-old rock-hard scones it really was a disappointment. Sad to say as I love the Wentworth.
Highly recommend. The high tea was lovely and it came with great service.
A relaxing lounge bar atmosphere in a sophisticated setting. The barramundi main course was a perfect dish suggested by our server. Wonderful cocktails too!
Always pleasant with reasonable choice of food
Excellent food, great service
Best High Tea in Sydney!
My guests and I thoroughly enjoyed a Wentworth High Tea, with a bottle of sparkling wine, on 20 November. We were presented with an amazing selection of finger food, both savoury and sweet and the food was delicious. The tea was served in lovely, delicate, china.
the service was great. the birthday treat was a special touch which I appreciated
