Excellent food and good service
I would not recommend it at all , firstly I ended up not dinning at all. I rang an organized a high tea for my self and especially my daughters birthday and graduation, it was suppose to be a great day and experience for her,I specific said to the receptionist of the high tea I did quit get her name, that I wanted it to be elegant in a nice room or restaurant were there was a view or a nice bright background , and to my understanding she said that she will organize that for me. I also said is it going to be the same as I saw on your high tea internet page with table clothes and nice cutlery and also with flowers she said yes.I asked for two balloons I got that but that was about it. When we arrived it was in the Library with only one table set up they said that there would be full room of people there was only, a man sleeping in the background on the lounge. That felt like a dungin so depressing ,that was not a bright room high tea I asked for. My daughter got up and left and started to cry, you rued her birthday she was so upset and even right now she is very still sad and unhappy. She did not get any high tea and refused to go anywhere else with me because she is angry with me now. I told the high tea receptionist that we don't have much family and I am coming from far on a tight budget and I was prepared to pay $140.00 for two but instead you people at wentworth Phillip st Sydney rued it for my daughter. What do you have to say about that? And how are you going to repay me for upsetting my daughter on her birthday How can I fix that , I am waiting for manager to respond to me back. Helen
Our high tea was wonderful. While we had to wait some 20 mins resulting from an admin error, the staff were most apologetic & provided a glass of sparkling while we waited. Food was fresh & delicious. Thank you
Easily one of the best High Tea places in Sydney - great themes too.
I took a friend here for Hight Tea for her birthday on Sunday 18/6/2018. At first we were told we would be going into the “high tea” room and then was advised we would be going into a different section. When the selection of high tea cake out it was not presented on the standard high tea layout and the sweets were too sweet and sickly. The sandwich was try and the scones were really the only think we enjoyed. We left most of the food, but wasn’t asked why. I paid $169 in total and actually feel really disappointed with the whole experience. I wouldn’t go hear again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Service was inattentive, otherwise a great lunch.
Went for a birthday lunch booking was told 40 min wait for food . No chicken pies or Salmon or lamb shanks left . The requested the quiche and chocolate mousse package and was told that it was a old menu and none of those things were avaible
Soirée is my favourite Accor plus restaurant in the city. Have dined there many times. Love the lux plate mixed entree. Please bring it back. Was disappointed it was no longer on the menu but ordered entrees to make our own lux plate. Pork belly tacos are a winner. Great options. Good for gluten free options. Serivice is excellent. 5 gold stars and will be back again. Staff are excellent and really give great service.
Table wasn’t ready for us even though we had made a verbal booking, checked it, and then received a call that morning to confirm. No presence at our table for ages, had to keep getting up to arrange orders. Staff very friendly and nice, and happy to oblige when prompted, but no instinct and I suspect little communication with each other. Received nothing like what we ordered, didn’t feel special, felt like hard work and I left exhausted. This sort of thing seems consistent with Accor hotels- well meaning staff who are nice people but the experience in its entirety is always disappointing.
At lunchtime waited 30 mins for service then another 30 til salad arrived. Had to get up 3 times to get attention of staff, Food was just OK. Might be fine if just going for a drink but otherwise wouldn't go again. Atmosphere was pretty mid range boring, conservative as if afraid to make a statement. Maybe a function of being a hotel chain. Someone's notion of 60s kitsch who clearly hadn't lived it. A bit sad.
The food wand service were fantastic. We all had a great time.
It was a lovely high tea set up and we really appreciated having it in the library away from the main restaurant. Staff were so attentive and catered to all our needs. Food was delicious, with perfect scones and a great variety of desserts.
We booked the High Tea at Soiree, as I have been to a High Tea here before with my daughters, & my husband and I have stayed at the Wentworth on a number of occasions, also eating at the restaurant which we have thoroughly enjoyed the facility and food/drink. But on the 27th our arranged High Tea with my granddaughters, which we had booked the Easter High Tea for 5 granddaughters and we had 4 adults for High Tea (9 in total). I was very disappointed with the whole day, as I have been to quite a few High Teas at a few places & always have savoury as well as sweet to eat, but there was no savoury for the kids & one slider each for the adults. No sandwiches, no small quiche's or any other veritues; & the sweets were mostly like the kids with a few different ones and not fresh. Very disappointed indeed & would not recommend High Tea at the Soiree. I was very sad about the whole occasion as it was a special day with all my granddaughters & building memories for them & the family, as I am going through Cancer treatment. I never mind what I pay for these occasions but I want to enjoy, which I have always done at the Wentworth. Yours sincerely, Beverley McGriskin 0426218547
Unique and sophisticated high tea menu. I like the fact that it is themed. I had the chocolate high tea with mum. She felt pampered, atmosphere was nice. Overall the food was good. The menu is definitely more special compared to many others. The duck foie gras macaron was exquisite, all the sweet items were fantastic, the pulled pork slides was very good, However, the scones were way too hard and basically rocky, the Brie panini was too chewy.
Soiree never disappoints, lunch was excellent great choices and really nice deserts.
We really enjoyed the high tea and I appreciated the balloons for my mothers birthday
While service and the atmosphere was lovely, the high tea was of mediocre standard. Definitely not worth the money. The cakes were old and not fresh at all. This was a disappointment.
I have been to fourty two high teas at the Sofitel and each one has been amazing! I have been to high teas all over Sydney and Melbourne and Sofitel definitely does the best high tea. They have the best food, presentation, service, atmosphere and value for money out of all the high teas available in Sydney. Their themed high teas are also very well thought out and unique. I have been to high tea at the Sofitel many times for my birthday and they always make it special, adding balloons, extra cakes and free cocktails. Dinner at the Sofitel is also fantastic! The menu is perfect and the service is 10/10! I would definitely recommend the Sofitel!
always good food and great service
The beautiful food for easter high tea tasted great however I found that there wasn’t enough savioury dishes to balance out all the sweetness.
Great high tea options and drink options. Good service. Recommended.
