I’ve been coming here on occasion for many years and seen changes. The staff is always professional in every way. The food has always been lovely although on this occasion I felt it fell short. Primarily the crepes were very disappointing. They were tightly rolled into a solid log, unable to be unraveled thus tasting like a thick gluggy and chewy mass. Not at all crepe like. The chicken sausage rolls were dense and chewy and lacked flavour.the sandwiches were delicious but the bread dried out very quickly. I found the sweet deserts were very sweet. I looked for a balance with some fruit tart or custard slice that didn’t give such a sugar rush. The slow cook meat pots were wonderful. I appreciate everyone has a different taste but I found it lacked a gentler balance for our tastes. I will be back in December so I’m looking forward to trying something new perhaps summery. It’s always a delightful way to spend an afternoon. The coffee was perfect and the pianist very pleasant. Many thanks.
Wonderful staff, remember you on return visits, very welcoming. Excellent service. A tempting array of savoury and sweet items that are truly wonderful. The tea Menu is a delight, so many to choose from. Excellent value for money in a relaxing setting. The best in Melbourne
Awesome service beautiful food. I highly recommend the high tea.
As an Accor Plus member, I usually browse through restaurants listed on Accor Plus website whenever I plan where to dine during my vacations. Restaurants listed on the site usually get my priority. However, having had bad experience with Le Club Accor membership previously, I did not want to take any chance at all, although the "Accor Plus member dining privileges" word was clearly displayed, along with a tick box for me to tick. I even took screenshot of the page. The confirmation email I received also clearly displayed the same privileges. I communicated with the reservation agent through emails, to and fro, multiple times, to ensure that the ala carte lunch menu I was interested in qualified for Accor Plus discount. On that day itself, as my guest and I ordered our lunch, I was informed that Accor Plus dining privileges were not applicable to the lunch menu I was going to order. It was exactly the same lunch menu which was emailed to me! I asked the wait staff, Eric, to go through the emails communication I had with the reservation agent. He spoke to his supervisor and returned to apologize, but blamed it all on the agent, saying that she did not know what she was doing, and that she was not a staff of the restaurant, therefore she did not know the facts well. On normal circumstances, if I was with family or relatives, I would have left immediately. But, I was hosting lunch. I invited a guest to go there. So, I stayed. What would you do if you go to see a surgeon for a surgery and are given a quote of surgery fee by his nurse, but on the day of the surgery, you are told that the nurse does not know what she is doing and the real fee is twice as much. Will you undergo the surgery, or will you leave? I am a surgeon, btw. This is a very bad business practice. When a staff makes a mistake, the business should absorb the loss, not penalize the customer and blames the staff for not knowing what he is doing. If a staff does not know the exact nature of his jobs, there is only one person to blame: the person who trains him! The second person to blame is the boss/business owner/manager. Why do you put a person who knows nothing about Accor Plus program in charge of replying inquiries about Accor Plus dining privileges? The wait staff, Eric, was friendly and apologetic. He offered free drinks. I am an athlete, and I just completed my marathon race, so I ordered water! My guest ordered tea. We could have ordered a bottle of champagne, but we did not. Both of us are athletes, and we don't drink.
The atmosphere is lovely. We loved the pianist. The food was very good although some items were nicer than others. It was a bit strange to see used cups and crockery on the sideboard. I’m not sure why they weren’t taken to the kitchen. Overall, however, a very enjoyable afternoon.
I will be definitely back
Our booking was a weekday hightea. We were first seated next to the window near the bar, close to a coat rack. The lounge was 80% empty, I felt a little sad to be placed in a corner, with a table that would not have fit the high tea tray. We asked to move seats, which was accommodated. Overall the hightea was enjoyable, I feel that the other hotels offer a slightly more sophistocated menu. There was only 2 staff, getting their attention for refills was at times difficult as they were busy, certainly not their fault.
Staffs were too busy, didn’t really look after us, heaps of flies which is disgusting and sandwiches are dried out, not freshly made. Very disappointed given it’s Sofitel.
We had the most wonderful afternoon indulging in High Tea to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. The food was divine, especially the scones, sandwiches and the chocolate fountain. To really set the mood, we listened to the most amazing piano playing (and such a lovely guy as well). What a beautiful afternoon!
A really lovely afternoon - i am curious with the difference in price for weekday & weekend. it seems a big jump. I thought the food was beautifully presented and the hot food & sandwiches etc delicious. The sweet selection I feel could be improved - a lot of what was on offer was similar from my perspective. all in all I would recommend. I am an accor member so nice with the discount.
Great atmosphere and ambience - beautiful and spacious room. our waiter was very attentive and friendly and accommodating, bringing all of our requests promptly and setting up individual payments without having to move from the couch. We had the buffet option and sat on the lounge as we were a group of 10 people. Very comfy and allowed everyone to chat to each other. Scones were amazing. Loved the chocolate fountain and the sandwiches. Some of the desserts were a bit too sweet and icky for our group. Gluten free option was excellent.
afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with all menu items graciously received. Hosts were delightfully helpful, with special mention to Eric. Glutton free option was requested for one guest and was very tasty, with the guest not left out of the celebration. Highly recommend to anyone wishing to book an event at Sofi's Lounge .
Was a lovely afternoon with the girls sharing some delicious finger sandwiches with delicious fillings, scones and desserts, champagne ,tea &coffee, value for money & staff were attentive & accomadating First time for all of us &will definately be back!
This experience was absolutely lovely, your team does an excellent job to make every customer feel a million dollars.
Loved everything about the French afternoon tea...the only problem was trying to finish it. Best macarons ever, wonderful jam and lemon meringue tart was melt in the mouth
The high tea was fabulous. My daughter and her friends enjoy it. The service is superb. The staff is friendly and helpful. We will sure to come again.
Knowing the expense, would only recommend to friends who had spare cash to splash and for special occasions. Appreciated when quest asked for a coffee (first coffee just warm), the waitress returned with a hot coffee to replace). tranquil and ideal high tea surrounds with background piano playing. The view from the 36th floor thereabouts and the femmes was a 'wow'l on this clear afternoon. Thank you so much.
Great morning high tea 🍵 and great price only $49 per person which included as much tea or coffee as wanted and sparkling ✨
The high tea amazing a must do!
It was amazing
Great service from floor staff. Excellent service and very understanding and polite. Staff were dedicated and professional. Booking the place was difficult, had to send several emails and phone call as we could not do a group booking of 13 people without a group booking coordinator. Group booking coordinator wasnt available on weekends so the messaged had to be past on anyway. Very annoying as I would have just preferred to liase with manager at sofilounge.
I loved the High Tea at the Sofitel on Collins! I felt like I was in London at the Ritz! The room has a delightful ambience and the food on offer was creative and delicious! With the endless bubbles it was excellent value for money! It's a great big YES from me!!!!
Would love a savory pastry option added. Scones were delicious.
had morning tea and I felt like the selection was lacking a savory taste
