This weeks home dining experience is a delicious 3 course menu highlighting the delicious flavours of our in venue dining experience. Again we pair each course with our amazing whiskies which have been expertly selected by our Whisky Host team. In addition you can now also order hot takeaway options from our bar menu, which you can tuck into straight away - and as always you can add a bottle of our exclusive whisky or wine on to your home dining order.
Home dining is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday for collection only. £69.00 for 2 people or £129.00 for 4 people, you can also select from our whisky bottle shop or wine shop to be added to your order. Collection will be from our Members' Room at 28 Queen Street between 4pm and 6pm.
While our website is under maintenance, to book this delicious experience simply copy and paste the link below into your browser, time selected will be your collection time.
V good setting and service
I used the dining at home experience and it really was excellent, with excellent food and instructional help which meant i had little to do bar turn on the oven, pour the whisky and enjoy. Shame my wife demanded her share of the whisky...
The Home Dining Experience food comes ‘Pre-prepared’ in a way and with instructions that make it really easy to present on the p,ate. The food is by far the most tasty and fancy takeaway you will ever buy.
Great food, excellent service
Brilliant service and fantastic food as always. The fabulous Christmas decorations were an added bonus! Thanks so much to Sarah and staff for also making the meal even more special by kindly giving us a gift to help mark what would have been our wedding day. We look forward to visiting again very soon!
Beautiful food, service is always excellent, could not recommend enough.
Great lunch hopefully Nicola will let us have a drink next time
Food is second to none. Always has been great but having got a couple of our home dining meals from elsewhere really showed SMWS Queen Street to be in a league of its own. During collection; staffs friendliness, efficiency while still 'covid friendly' can't be faulted.
Good to see it open, but shame to see so few people there
I wanted to mention that I have been fortunate to have dinner at the Queen street venue on several occasions pre-covid , which is excellent ,and have now had dine at home on a couple of occasions , the experience is no less diminished as the food and presentation package for dine at home is just really good value , with the paired whisky's and the videos to assist in the experience its a really good night in and during these times what more can you ask for , well done to the team at SMWS
All three courses were delicious and selection of whisky was good. 2 things which could be improved. First is that the portion size of the main course was quite small and could have done with more veg. Second, it was not clear from the instructions which whisky was paired with which course (and could also have benefitted from explaining colours/numbers on the stickers). However overall a delicious meal and would not hesitate in doing it again.
We had a great time, the food was amazing - you make a killer haggis and whisky sauce - despite the current situation the atmosphere was great and we will be back again!
I am afraid this won't be good. We traveled up from London as a party of 3 to specifically eat at your restaurant on 28/12 having eaten with you on 2 previous occasions. The booking was for 5 and made over a month in advance. When we arrived we were told our 14 year old son would not be able to sit in the bar area and when I advised we had a restaurant booking the manager came down to tell us that children were not permitted in the restaurant under 14 years of age and claimed this was stated on the website. I've since checked the website and I can see a small statement that the venue is over 18 years of age, but I completely missed this when booking. First piece of feedback is to ensure the age restriction is stated clearly at point of booking not just on landing page where it was missed. The manager at no point offered any solution to the situation even though the website it states private rooms are available for children under 18 years of age. I feel very disappointed. We had a family member and a friend flying in from Los Angeles to eat with us on that evening as well. Their evening and ours was ruined. I've eaten in many high end restaurants around the world and this is the first time we've ever encountered an age restriction on children in a restaurant area. I feel so frustrated and disappointed that I let my family and friends down that I will not be renewing my membership. Please count on additional reviews and feedback.
Wonderful food, flavourful and beautifully presented. Our room had a lovely atmosphere and combined with the excellent service it all made for a very memorable evening.
Excellent Evening. Food and service very good. We will be back, For special occasions this is our favourite place to Dine in Edinburgh.
A combination of surly staff attitude and slow service,45 mins wait for Coffee???, takes some doing and highlights a disappointing drop in previous high standards set by SMWS..
Excellent venue, food and of course drink. Staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgable.
Great evening although our table was a bit wobbly. Great food as usual and staff attentive. Thanks
A visit to The Dining Room at the Scottish Malt Whisky Society is always a very special experience. We had a lovely meal. Thank you.
A fabulous high quality lunch in a relaxed setting.
Fantastic 5 course taster menu with wine and whisky pairing between my wife and myself Special mention for the staff at Queen Street especially the Sommelier on the evening who gave us great insight into all the courses and accompanying drinks... Bravo...
Excellent menu. Food was of a very high standard, and compares well with the best Edinburgh has to offer.
Great setting, amazing service and one of the best meals we've all had in a long time. The best salmon dish (starter) I have ever tried! Just an incredible night!
Tasting menu with Whisky pairing was superb! Staff very knowledgable, and it was great to be introduced to new Whiskies and flavour profiles.
Perfect venue, food was delicious, attention to detail was perfect and the staff were amazing!
