About Smoke Stack
Steakhouse serving the best in Scottish Steaks, chicken and seafood with a good choice of dishes for the non-carnivore. Established in 1996 Smoke Stack is well known for its relaxed atmosphere and freshly prepared food.
6 of us from pre rugby breakfast. Food and service excellent. Everyone was happy with what they had.
no value for money. would not recommend it further. could not be happier to leave.
Our group all had a wide range of brunch items and both mimosas and cocktails and everything was delicious! Would recommend to anyone for a brunch. Thanks!
A very enjoyable evening, nice and relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing service and child friendly but still great atmosphere. We both had steaks and they were fantastic plenty choice and staff were very friendly. Will be back next time in Edinburgh
Lovely food, great service from all the staff. Very reasonable prices, would highly recommend. Look forward to returning.
Lovely staff and food. Would come again.
From vegetarian to steak salad to filets..everyone loved their entrees. Low key vibe, excellent value.
We have been going to this restaurant for two years and gutted to see the menu has changed on our last visit :(.......please don’t mess with a good thing ! Sadly we won’t be back
We were a party of 6 and all had an excellent meal, the steaks were cooked just as requested and there were vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. It was our first visit and we wouldn't hesitate to return.
Please get more comfortable chairs/seats. The only negative comment from our pary
Another lovely meal.
Excellent service, which accommodated my group very well despite having a few call offs. Fantastic meal and friendly staff.
I've had several lovely meals here - one of the best steaks you can get in Edinburgh. However I was disappointed on this visit. After advising at time if booking I required gluten free and being provided with GF menu I placed my order. After a few minutes I was told that due to them being extremely busy they'd used the separate GF fryer for other (normal) customers so couldn't guarantee GF because at that point they didn't know what the fryer had been used for. Given how difficult it can be to eat out you cone to rely on your 'go to' places but this time, unfortunately, wasn't the case.
First time back at Smokestack for a while, and wasn't disappointed. Easily booked a table on line, and got the time I wanted on a Friday evening. Staff were welcoming, food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Portion sizes were good. Made a poor choice of beer to go with food - my fault as I was attracted by the name rather than the description (don't ask). There were plenty of other reputable choices. In all I think we spent about £20 pr head for a two-course meal with an alcoholic drink. I'm happy.
Coped well with 10 of us and we only booked late the evening before. Our second family get together/brunch here - will likely be back again.
Such a lovely place for breakfast! We came back two days in a row! Service is amazing, great atmosphere and incredible food!
The steaks where amazing, would highly recommend paying smoke stack a visit and I'll defo be coming back.
The most disappointing part was that staff were inattentive and more interested in eating their own dinner, making cocktails all together at the bar (Not sure who for as we were the only ones there most of the time!) and chatting amongst each other. When we left and said thank you and bye we were totally ignored and they didn’t even look up, it’s them that should be saying that not us! Steak was ok and partner was disappointed with burger considering it’s a burger place by trade
Well worth a visit
Was disappointed.. have been many times before, but far from impressed
the food was good, the steak fajitas tasty. drinks were average and tad pricey for the quality. was here a few years ago and seems to have gone down hill a tad which was disappointing. probably won't rush back with so much choice elsewhere nearby.
Great food, fab service, lovely atmosphere, and really close to the Playhouse
Felt very rushed, in and out within an hour. This would be ok for a lunchtime, but on a Saturday night we were expecting to go out for an enjoyable leisurely family dinner. Food good apart from the soup. Will not rush back.
