Great food, attentive staff and made to fell safe during these testing times of Covid-19
Did end up paying twice for a brandy, but otherwise love this spot!!
the Percy French never changes. I feel it is very dated. I know it is an olde worlde place but feel it is very much in need of some TLC like new carpet, curtains and a lick of pain. The menu never seems to change much. Very standard. Very safe. I feel it is expensive for what you get. The staff are very good and very busy but there is just no atmosphere in the restaurant.
everything was excellent with the room, spacious and all we needed.
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Food was great and staff helpful. Hope things improve regarding this awful pandemic.
The staff are wonderful. Very attentive to us. Prices are a little steep especially for soft drinks but not out of order. Our food was tasty and well cooked and presented. We really enjoyed our meal.
My partner got the beef burger, was extremely dry and no flavour.
Having stayed at the hotel In a couple of occasions I was disappointed with both the service and quality of food on our visit to the Percy French. Firstly the staff had no record of our booking upon arrival. In the day of our visit there was an issue with the Fryer this was not explained to us until making the order. The staff member that informed us of the issue did not seem to be aware of what options we had if we choose a course with chips given that the fryer was not working. We took a table outside and having waited at least 10 to 15 minutes had to approach the bar in order to get service. The chicken gouging that one of my children had were over cooked to the extent that the child had issues cutting them. I order the beef which although tender was not overly warm. Overall a disappointing experience and not value for money which was not in keeping with previous stays in the hotel.
Friendly efficient staff, kid friendly atmosphere, amazing food.
Little evidence of adequate Covid precautions. No hand sanitizer, no staff masks or social distancing, token attempt at cleaning tables, menus etc. If this is what happens in public view, it doesn’t inspire confidence in what is happening in the kitchen and elsewhere.
good service,good food
This was only our second time out since lockdown and I have to say the staff were absolutely lovely so chatty and friendly and the food was lovely as well would highly recommend.
Staff where friendly but didn't look very professional, one male had his shirt hanging out the back of his trousers, they also couldn't find the information on lunch bookings either. Lunch was nice and food fresh which was good although was expecting club sandwich to be warm not cold. Decided we didn't want a dessert, next thing we where just handed our bill there was no offers of tea/ coffee or another drink. In and out in around 40 minutes. Another very minor thing, yesterday was a warm day and the radiator was blasting out heat.
Overall great experience, lovely food and friendly staff
Good simple food, nothing complicated, in a nice atmosphere and served by wait staff doing their best to ensure social distancing and hygiene. Top marks
An enjoyable visit. The staff were friendly, and the food was simply cooked and very nice. The social distancing measures were very subtle and didn't impact on the atmosphere. We hope to be able to stay in the hotel in the near future.
Beautiful food, beautiful restaurant and beautiful views.
With having a wheelchair it was nice a member of staff opened the doors for us and parked the chair. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful
Great service considering the circumstances, perfect meal and wine combo...
On Sunday afternoon 26/7/20 we decided to pay a visit to Percy French’s. Staff were incredibly friendly and we felt completely safe inside the restaurant. Food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious as well as being reasonably priced. We were fortunate enough to get a window seat which I highly recommend! Couldn’t recommend it enough- will definitely be back!
Food and service was tip top, quiet Saturday lunch tho.
Polite, competent and friendly staff, great food, lovely cocktails! Will look forward to my next visit :)
Steak was bland and I asked for medium but was more like rare with blood seeping in every cut , lasagne was burnt and despite it being Left uneaten on the Plate it wasn’t mentioned by staff when clearing . Breaded mushrooms were flavourless and the whole experience was poor compared to my many previous visits - I definitely was very disappointed on this occasion
The food we received was mostly inedible. Our server was excellent although the manager was unable to talk to us about our issues as he would “be there in 5 mins” we didn’t have time to wait! We were charged full price for all items in our meal.
Our waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. He struck a great balance. Tables well spaced providing assurance in terms of social distancing.
