Great service from friendly staff
A pleasant evening and a tasty Christmas meal with social distancing well organised.
Lovely meal... friendly staff... great end to a fab stay at the slieve donard thank you
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Percy French before our Polar Express experience. We were dining with an under 1 and were nervous as to how well he would behave. We had plenty of space at our table and all staff were welcoming and attentive. We were not rushed from our table and enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch!
Enjoyable night
A nice meal but the table service was yet again shocking. We had to repeatedly ask for drinks that had already been ordered to be brought to us. If we had any other option we’d have eaten elsewhere in Newcastle, but we were booked into the Polar Express so endured the Percy.
Staff worked incredibly hard to ensure we had an enjoyable time despite COVID. They were compliant with all restrictions and were still able to have a laugh with us and be kind and pleasant to our little ones.
Great meal before taking the kids to see Santa. What a brilliant night
Food was lovely, service was slow and we didnt like where we were sitting, we were placed very close to a large family with a squad of kids, we couldnt relax and talk freely
We both had a lovely 1 night stay. Massage with Megan was bliss and so relaxing, just what was needed. Dinner in Percy French was delicious with waitress Amy going above and beyond, lovely girl who even made sure we go our bottle of wine after forgetting it. Room was spacious and clean with a great view of the Mournes and sea. Will definitely be back.
Food was quite bland - nothing that would encourage us to drive 40mins from home to go to again. Also disappointing that you couldn't order turkey/ham without having to order from set menu. Little to no festive atmosphere.
We had a great experience at the Percy French. We felt very safe and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly and accommodating especially with the children. All of the food we ordered was delicious and excellent value for money. I look forward to returning again in the future.
Fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!
Staff were really pleasant and very helpful nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely and the restaurant was well managed to allow social distancing we will diff be back and would happily recommend to others 5*
Only disappointment was a mix up with our bill when paying as we had to spilt party into 2 tables and also we only got 2 of our £5 vounchers took off bill instead of 3
Originally booked for 6.30 finished polar express experience earlier than anticipated and restaurant were good enough to accommodate me thank you!
Drink price are too expensive.
Fantastic service from Amy, great with our 14 month old! Lovely food. Thank you!
Was very disappointed with food. Kids pizza was awful and not ate by either of my kids. Was expecting a lot more.
We were advised by the hotel that all the restaurants were fully booked on the night of our stay. I was able to log onto the Percy French restaurant website myself and easily see there were in fact available slots and had no problem booking a table. When we arrived the waiters were very helpful and food arrived very quickly. The food was very nice and reasonably priced.
Beautiful food, setting and top class class service from staff
Allowed us to book online. Was closed when we arrived. Was disappointing. Online booking just needs updated. Looking forward to eating here some day.
I fully understand we are in lockdown, however i was able to book a table for the restaurant for 7.30 on Friday 20/11/2020. I travelled from Belfast to Newcastle to visit the restaurant for a meal with another couple. When i arrived the restaurant was in darkness and completley closed. As i said, i fully understand that only cafe's are permitted to open but why was i able to book the restauarnt and waste over an hour travelling ?? I suggest you alter your website so people cannot book.
Drove the whole way from Belfast (2 families plus kids) only to find the place closed. I wasn't sure whether you would be open but was pleasantly pleased to receive a confirmation email on Friday 20th for our table on Sunday 22. I appreciate you have your reasons for being closed, but it is ridiculous that this was not communicated to your customers. Not likely that I will be rushing back once things get back to normality.
Unfortunately the meal was truly awful-I had mussels the sauce of which looked like recycled dishwater. My husband had the sirloin which was of a massive sub- standard quality and was undercooked tough and stringy. Warning bells should have sounded when the meal was served 5 mins after ordering-we booked for 7pm and the meal was finished by 7.30-quicker than MacDonalds! Will never be back and would dissuade anybody I know from visiting-awful!!
