Our visit to the The Percy French was for a Sunday lunch with friends. In the party there was four adults and three children. On arrival swift direction to the table was given by the staff member for our party. The order was taken after a short delay. The order was taken. The starters arrived followed by the main course. The food was of a good standard and reasonably priced. As we had a party of three kids we would have liked the opportunity for the kids meal to arrive with the starters. The service could have been more swift. All in all I would return to the Percy French.
Food and service was excellent.
Great food and service. Ordered the tomahawk steak as a treat for my fiancé’s birthday! Was huge! Delicious!
Amazing food, lack of atmosphere
We had Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day. Food was ok. Turkey had Parma ham wrapped around it rather than traditional ham, too much mash and not enough veg. The atmosphere was meh. Not very festive, we felt we were sitting in a canteen. Roast beef was delicious, as were the trio of desserts. Service was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Overall, it was ok, but id rather have my dinner in the Slieve Donard Hotel next time.
Lovely warm and very welcoming night staff.
Food was amazing, service staff lovely, bar man who brought drinks grumbled something not entirely sure what. Christmas music playing, off putting as well after Christmas and carpet around table was dirty with spoiled food. Apart from this food and food service top class!!
Very friendly and welcoming staff
Our meal was beautiful. Highly recommend the Sticky Toffee pudding! Definitely will be back.
Excellent food and service. Kayleigh is a credit to the team
Nice food and decent service. Zero atmosphere in the restaurant though which was disappointing.
Our waitress Claire was very attentive and well mannered, we enjoyed our evening very much. We will definitely return for a an evening 😊😍
Whilst the service and atmosphere were fine at Percy French the food was very disappointing. My little girls pasta meal was horrible and basics like chips just were not good. Definitely would not rush back.
The hotel is excellent and the staff are very good as well. It I don't a bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for . Hotel needs to make its check in process a bit smoother than experienced .
Lovely evening out great staff, good food pleasant evening
Service was excellent. Food was amazing value and very tasty
shocking. brie came out on shredded lettuce straight from a bag. brie was cold in the middle. Then waited 55 mains for the main for thr lamb to be bone dry and the gravy to come out with a skin on it. couldn't get out of the place quick enough
Only complaint is that the chunky chips with the main courses were so chunky that they were hard in the middle.
Great experience on Christmas Eve. Everything was spot on even though the restaurant was very busy. Looking forward to going again next time we are in the area.
Lovely atmosphere Anf great food
Very enjoyable evening with attentive staff.
Food was ok, The main was a big let down, defeat not enough in terms of quantity and taste for the price, it was basically just Beef, mash and carrots which ive made better in my own house, service was very good though.
Service wasn’t great, ordered a Sunday roast and the roasties where barely cooked. Couldn’t get a waiter’s attention and by the time we were asked if our meal was ok we had nearly finished and upon showing the roasties I was offered cooked ones the meal was over. We also had to wait 15-20 mins to place our dessert order after being given a menu, no waiters were about.
Great food choices especially for those who are gluten free. Only issue was when at booking we requested the table by the window, booking was made a couple of months ago, this could not be accommodated which slightly spoiled our evening.
