Our Dining Room is an elegant, yet informal restaurant in which to relax and enjoy everything from a coffee to afternoon tea with stunning views of the golf course.
So pleased with our Afternoon Tea. The food provided was beautiful, including the gluten-free items. Thank you
The food is excellent! The restaurant has been decorated in a very tasteful style. I feel some background patio or lounge style music would improve the ambiance. The staff are nice but due to lack of training the service doesn’t reflect the style of the restaurant. If the staff had more professional training this would be more of a five star than three and a half restaurant.
Some of the ex-Botley Park golfing ladies meet regularly for coffee in your restaurant. Your bar staff and Shannon in particular are supportive and efficient. Thank you.
Really enjoyed afternoon tea and added prosecco which was very nice. Although a lovely room only one other table so can't really comment on the atmosphere. Which was more about the time we had booked rather than the place. The girls waiting on us were very friendly. I think on next visit would book for the sports bar as better view of the golf course and would imagine busier so more atmosphere. But couldn't fault the afternoon tea. Will definitely be returning
Service a little slow, but food was amazing!
Lovely setting the table was great as there were 10 of us having a round table meant everyone could talk to each other. The afternoon tea was nice although we had to ask twice for more tea. There was no sugar or water on the table so again we had to ask for these things, I realise that the water would need to be served cold but we had been sat down for half an hour before I asked for water which was then bought to the table.
Beautiful food and very friendly and helpful wait staff
We've been here before many times but sadly yesterday's visit just wasn't quite upto your normal standards. Granted the food was still OK, but the toilets obviously hadn't been looked at for a while as they smelt, had no toilet roll and the hand wash didn't work. Luckily I had tissues and I just went and advised the bar staff, but still not ideal. We normally have a latte with our afternoon tea, but yesterday we were told we'd need to pay for it, which we've never been told before, had to ask a couple of times for water on the table, and then had to wait as something needed to be filled before we could get milk for the tea, all in all it just wasn't up to your usual standard and if this had been our first visit I'm not sure I'd be rushing back which is a pity as we work at NATS and we're just down the road which is why we come so often.
Having researched the route previously, I turned right into Parkway, looking for the expected direction signs - there were none, missed Leafy Lane and spent another 25 minutes trying to discover where we'd gone wrong ! Telephone contact : staff were always helpful. Once we arrived for Afternoon Tea, the food was excellent with tasty cakes, scones and cream and sandwiches. Food was delivered with a smile. We were sat out of sight of the bar and catching the young staff's eye proved a little difficult. Extra tea, for example, needed a walk to the bar to get their attention. We did not really feel looked after and were not asked if we were OK. The restaurant was not over busy either. Part of the experience is communication with the staff. Just a glance around the tables to see if guests needed anything would have been appreciated. It was however, good value for money. Booking was through Groupon.
4 adults on a spa day on a Sunday. We would have marked 5 stars throughout but we were not made aware that children would have access to the pool area at periods throughout the day.
We had a lovely afternoon tea for my friends 21st birthday present. Quality and service was amazing
First Spa day for my daughter & first visit to Skylark. Lovely surroundings, very helpful & friendly staff, nice pleasant atmosphere, good facilities. Enjoyed our day .
Pool and spa area clean staff friendly in the spa, afternoon tea plentiful and delicious and staff really friendly will definitely book again thank you Skylark
The service was so slow, we had to ask 3 times for a jug of tap water and glasses. We ordered a glass of wine and Pepsi at the table. We have never encountered such slow and lacking service. There was absolutely no atmosphere and for such a quiet night the food took ages to arrive. We agreed we would never return for another visit.
Our Afternoon tea food and drink tasted amazing. We thought the atmosphere was relaxed however felt the staff were a bit too relaxed about ensuring we had our drinks initially and then we had to approach them to ask for our Presecco and a refill on tea. We’re not keen on the new dining area the lighting and decor feels a bit dull but we had bright lights in our eyes. We preferred it when you could sit with views of the golf course. Thank you we did enjoy it but could be improved if staff more contentious and if we’re able to sit in other dining area.
The restaurant was chilly, my partner wished she'd taken a cardigan. The service was a little slow. However, the food was excellent. The wine was over priced in my opionion. £6.50 for a glass of Rioja Crianza is on the high side if you ask me. I would go back here for the food anytime.
Had a very relaxing and chilled day with my bestie. The staff are very attentive and friendly and loved my massage. We will be back again soon
Very good afternoon tea.
Lovely food and setting for afternoon tea.
Excellent food served by very attentive and professional staff.
Lovely cream tea, thank you. I’m afraid your toilet facilities require some attention. The disabled toilet was quite dirty and I had to use it for the baby changing facilities. Not a good experience.
Lovely afternoon tea - great value for money with the amount you get! Superbly presented and tasted delicious.
Really lovely place, staff were really attentive and afternoon tea was delicious. It was the first time all 11 guests had been there but for many it definitely won't be the last. Thank you
