We had an excellent afternoon. The setting, service and atmosphere could not have been more perfect. Irena was a brilliant hostess and could not have been more helpful.
Great meeting place for two families to have a great meal together I came up from Bournemouth and my cousin came from Worthing we will be back.
Wonderful food in a beautiful location with great service. Price of the dessert is not reflected in the portion size although quality is still very good.
Fabulous surroundings, great service and excellent food. Thank you
I have visited Skylark on a number of occasions for the Groupon Steak Deal and afternoon Tea and it is such good value. The atmosphere and decor is lovely. As long as you are prepared that one of you will be a duty driver or pay for a taxi.
I rated the atmosphere lower as we thought the bar/restaurant was quite noisy however appreciate Afternoon Tea would be better and probably quieter mid afternoon. The waitress was extremely helpful and very nice. The scones were excellent as was all the food and we were pleased to hear all baked in house.
Excellent meal on Mothering Sunday - we were later in the day but the food did not reflect this - roast beef was deliciously soft and vegetables crisp and fresh !
Very disappointed, went for Mother’s Day and it was not busy when we arrived but there were numerous dirty and uncleared tables that remained that way for the whole hour we were there. At no point did any staff come and ask if everything was ok or did we need anything... very plain and quite dark in the dining room, would of thought they maybe could of put small flower on the table to brighten the place up. No atmosphere at all and the food was just ok but certainly not worth twenty pounds per head. I have emailed Skylark but heard nothing as of yet and in fact got this review option first. Beautiful place and could be great but won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. You’d have a better experience going to a roadside cafe!!
The afternoon tea is outstanding. We return as it's the best in the area. We were on a groupon this time but it would have been nice to have had towels provided.
Lovely setting. Good customer service with a smile.
Fantastic service the waiting staff were very attentive and knowledgable - nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome and at ease. The food surpassed our expectations and was most definitely worthy of being ranked as Michelin standard!
Plenty of food, hot chocolate served as an alternative to tea and server was faultless.
Excellent afternoon tea. Delicious food with great quality products. Very pleasant waitresses. My only issue is the dining room where we had it. Very functional but not attractive. The first time I came with a friend, about 3 years ago we were in the large dining area overlooking the golf course and the wow factor was undeniable. This feels very much like a second rate venue.
The food is excellent except for the dessert. There are only two waiters so the service was a bit slow. But the waiter who served us was excellent, professional, polite, nice and helpful. The athmospere was relaxing and very quiet.
Lovely day and lovely staff.
lovely day with the bonus of use of the pool ,
We had a lovely visit for the afternoon tea. It was a birthday treat for my daughter and sister. Service was excellent as was the food which was good quality and plenty variety to choose from. We purchased this from Groupon and wouldn't hesitate doing so again.
Amazing roast , and fab service as always from the waitresses
Can't fault it! Best Sunday lunch in the area! Staff amazing and friendly. Will be back soon.
9 adults ordered food the service was excellent. The 3 roast dinners were a disappointment ,the meat was very tough some being unedable. The rest of the food was excellent.
You are asking for feedback but you had to cancel the reservation due to the bad weather !!!! I’m still waiting for you to reply to two complaining e mails !!!
Visited for a Steak and Wine deal. The service was very poor and we were largely ignored. No food came out for an hour which eventually to our discovery the order hadn’t actually been sent to the kitchen. The chef made a Chinese salad to plug the gap in between cooking our main, which was very good. However if one of the waitresses spent less time setting up tables or polishing cutlery when no customers were going to be turning up at 9pm at night and instead attended to the customers which were physically there then perhaps could have been avoided. When our food eventually came out they forgot some of the sides we ordered as well. Both waitress looked fairly inexperienced and uninterested which I think was the main problem. The Steak and chips were very good. So from that perspective i would definitely recommend. Overall my experience wouldn’t put me off going back again but I would suggest in putting measures in to improve the service.
My sister and I indulged in an afternoon cream tea and wow what an indulgent experience it was! : ) Firstly the afternoon tea was delicious, ample choice of sandwiches and homemade cakes / deserts, the scones with clotted cream and jam were perfect, fresh pots of tea and coffee kept coming, the two ladies that served us were attentive, accomodating and friendly, the location was lovely as we sat and watched the snowflakes outside, we shall return without doubt : )
Lovely roasts, would definitely recommend the food. There was quite a bit of delay in taking our order and coming back for desserts order, so we opted to leave without dessert. We were also charged incorrectly but when I pointed it out , it was rectified.
I had Afternoon Tea with my Mother-in-law. A couple of things you might like to think about owing differently: Cake forks would be useful, rather than great big dinner forks. Also it seems a shame to pack everyone into the main restaurant when the reason we chose you was to have afternoon tea looking out over the golf course and view. The menu choice of teas was a little bit limited, but I appreciate that you probably get very little variation on English Breakfast. We would have liked Darjeeling and Jasmine. Overall a pleasant afternoon out, the sandwiches and choice of cakes were excellent and plentiful.
