About SKAI Restaurant
Bringing to the fore an exquisite grill offering at the lofty, dining destination, SKAI is a contemporary, fine grill restaurant on the 70th floor of the iconic Swissôtel, The Stamford that is set to become the go-to sky-dining establishment in Singapore.
1. When I called to make the reservation I specifically asked if Amex Card Love Dining privileges applied to set lunches. I was put on hold while he checked. He confirmed that the privileges apply. On that basis, I booked. When I was there with my guests, I asked before ordering to confirm that my understanding was correct, and to my surprise, the waiter told me that the privileges did not apply. I told him about the call and the misinformation provided to me, and he politely apologised. No service recovery unfortunately. 2. The food is uniquely presented and tasty but came in portions way too small. They charged $5 for water! 3. There is nothing to make me go back again.
I think charging $5+ per person for filtered water is unfriendly. Even if one has wines, sips of water in between is necessary.
We had a delightful brunch at the newly renovated SKAI bar, both ambience and setting was perfect. Along side with Rev who was serving us, thoughtful and smiley personnel delivering excellent service. He was very attentive and prompt, and patiently attended to all the requests that we had. We were more than pleased with the experience, and please continue to delight more customers! Thumbs up for good service, keep it rolling cheers!
Very nice friendly service in the bar and in the restaurant. It was the F1 weekend and we asked quite late for a booking during practice. We were kept informed although out of the country about our booking and despite credit card guarantee not working the table was kept for us. Just reopened after renovation and attractive light wood environment. View is of course very wide and it is fun to look down on the Marina Bay Hotel!
We arrived in Singapore for the F1, and had pre-booked JAAN from Australia but not Skai. So I popped up there to see if they could squeeze us in between races later that night, and although being ‘full’, they managed to get us a table. Our ‘table’ was at the Bar, which turned out to be the best views of the Harbor. With JAAN, you have amazing views, but you don’t see all of the Harbor like you do from Skai. Being at the Bar, you have uninterrupted 180 degree views and privacy, with everyone else being seated behind you. The food is just as amazing as JAAN, with the same awesome presentation but a lot cheaper and with different chefs. Due to time constraints, we decided on a few cocktails to start with, and choose to have the Loch Fyne smoked salmon fillet with king crab, wakame and shellfish broth, whilst Stacey dived into the Rhug organic lamb shoulder with Teriyaki, roasted carrots and Savoy cabbage. To follow up with the desserts, I went with the frozen white grape, lemon foam and mint Muscat sorbet. This was refreshing but not as stunning as the Caramelised Soy Bean Cheesecake that was torched at the table and served with lemon sorbet, miso fudge and cubes of citrus jelly. Stacey was in heaven.
Too much fats on the strip loin - good if some are trimmed away. Black Cod is excellent Charcoal Waffle is too hard to be eaten. But the seafood hash served with this Charcoal Waffle is excellent. Sake Cured Salmon taste like normal cured salmon - perhaps fresh salmon should be used. Should served complimentary water as this is not available
Would be happier if there’s more desserts selection; I find that 3 dishes are not enough for desserts lover like myself! :) the strawberry shortcake could be further improve, not much wow factor to it. But the other two are very much to my liking, would rate a 5/5 for both the chocolate parfait and the coconut dessert. For main dishes, pork belly is abit too oily and salty, maybe could have something light to serve as a side with it. 😍 Cold dish, Wagyu Was superb. Could have several plates of it! Services of all staffs were excellent, giving me and my Husband a warm welcome and a lovable dining experience.
I really enjoyed my dinner with my Husband and I’ll definirely come back again.
Excellent service & delicious food
Newly revamped place, nice atmosphere, good quality of food and excellent, attentive services by the staff especially Mr Rev who has given us good suggestions, recommendations and provided us attentive services to make our brunch a memorable one.
A great choice to celebrate my hubby's special day. We had great food & great experience.
Service very good, very satisfied. Will dine in again!
I like the decor but not the food. the crispy noodles were too salty and over priced.
I had the best meal I’ve ever had on their opening night. It was the full package! It was the best steak I’ve ever had! My starter was beautiful and delicious! My husband and I have eaten at many wonderful restaurants and some on opening nights. I wouldn’t haven’t known it was their opening night as it was professional and wonderful. The view is amazing and my well behaved 5 year old loved it. His only complaint being that his steak wasn’t big enough and started munching on my husbands. His pudding was amazing and he loved it! The staff were brilliant, friendly, attentive and got on really well with son. When I return to Singapore we will definitely eat there again!
Great food and service, highly recommended.
Hi I would like to sound my displease and unpleasant experience with your restaurant. It was my wife’s birthday on the 3rd sept Monday. I called up the restaurant to ask if I can get a window seat, and they said I’m able to get one and also it’s the restaurant’s grand opening on that day. Upon hearing it’s a grand opening, I thought it was double celebration for my Wife to be able to celebrate her birthday together with the restaurant. Hence, there was no grand opening on that day, and we were allocated to a not so fascinated view at almost the end of a window seat which we had arrived earlier than the said timing 7pm. And this is even more disappointing that I have to remind the staff twice to lit up the candle for my Wife upon serving the dessert. But it is not done and she has to eat it halfway and there comes the candle with the dessert being half eaten. I would like the management to get back to me on this highlights. Regards Jon Gui
