About Simpsons Restaurant
1 Michelin Starred Restaurant with Rooms
Fantastic Saturday lunch. Could not fault the service, quality of food and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
The service and food were excellent. Can’t recommend this place enough, but don’t expect a cheap meal
A fine dining experience with a relaxed approach insured a good time for us both
We enjoyed a lovely, long, leisurely lunch. Other than the main event [the food], the attention and friendliness of the female staff was particularly noteworthy.
A big thank you to our Sommelier. Unfortunately I cannot remember the young lady’s name but she was knowledgeable, thorough and above all enthusiastic about what she was serving. This was the Discovery pairing and the 0% ABV pairing. The food and service were excellent as well.
A really great meal, excellent service and superlative food. My wife’s gluten intolerance was effortlessly dealt with.
We were very well looked after throughout - they even charged my phone for me. We came for a late lunch but opted for the tasting menu because we didn’t want to miss out on anything. We weren’t rushed into finishing, even when we were the last ones there, we felt very relaxed. The food was outstanding and worth taking time over, savouring every bite.
Great value , exceptional taste and flavour, great friendly service and beautiful venue
As always excellent
We have been a few times to the restaurant which has always been lovely, this was a themed night and Can't fault it , really enjoyed the experience of trying new wines f, will be coming again for sure.
Another super experience......great food, service and ambiance!
Wedding Anniversary lunch 3 hours of absolute luxury, absolutely worth it , an experience to savour.. highly recommended...
Our second celebratory family (14 inc. 5 children) Sunday lunch in the Private Dining Room. Again it was a relaxed, enjoyable occasion with great service, food, wine and atmosphere.
A marvellous dining experience and one we will always remember. All the staff were so knowledgable and very attentive a credit to Simpson’s
Really enjoyed the Cookery school on 7th September. Rachael was a terrific host ably supported by Adam and your sommelier was knowledgeable. All the staff we met were pleasant and professional and the restaurant is as lovely as ever. The new (to us alt least) cookery school was smart and stylish. The selection of food cooked was well thought out and we have learnt useful techniques and picked up some good ideas for home. It was also very tasty! Our only criticism concerned the wine. The sparkling wine was quite good, but the wines we drank with the mail were certainly nothing special and well below the standard of the wine we have had at the cookery school in the past. There was no dessert wine which disappointed my wife particularly. I am sure we will return and hope the wine is more interesting next time!
Lovely Food, Great Service!
I had booked this for a birthday meal and the staff made it really special thank you x
Another fantastic experience of top quality food and service. Thank you.
Another enjoyable visit to this superb restaurant. Thank you to all the staff who make the dining experience very special.
Initial welcome by front of house was excellent, seated with a smile and great cocktail to start but... We chose the tasting menu and from that moment on the service dipped. Lack of interaction with us as diners, little or no explanation of the dishes and felt very much like we were just being rushed through. Our main server appeared to be not interested in conversation or even answering comments (positive) about the dishes. There was feeling of being “looked after”. I’m afraid for £95 a head plus drink you expect some chat! The same can be said for the sommelier. Plus notes food was very good and the wine we chose was excellent. I appreciate how hard you were all working but it’s not something I’d have complained about on the night with any of you. “Hey cheer up and look like you’re happy for us to be here” isn’t something you say! Go to Carters of Moseley guys and see how they do service.
Amazing food, fresh and clean Ambiente, lovely atmosphere
Our fourth visit and it still doesn’t disappoint, absolutely fantastic in every respect.
The service at Simpson’s was great. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing or disingenuous. The restaurant is so bright and spacious and with its wealth of space it was lovely to enjoy a pre drink in the veranda area before our meal.
I have been dining at Simpson’s for the last twenty years. In my opinion it is the best of the fine dining establishments in Birmingham. Myself and my wife recently had lunch and were going to have the amazing value lunch deal, however on arrival decided to go the whole Hogg and have the tasting with wine matching. The lunchtime £45.00 with half s bottle of wine is superb though but it was my birthday hence really treating ourselves. Every course from start to finish was delicious my favourites though were the mackerel then the beef tartar and we also ordered on top of the tasting menu an additional souflee each always a winner at Simpson’s. The chefs in the kitchen are superb I believe it was Leo kattou heading the brigade in the kitchen yesterday and every course demonstrated immense skill and honoured the ingredients used to create mouth watering sublime flavours. On top of this the front of house staff were perfect in every way Ashleigh was brilliant and I’m sorry I forgot there names the young lady sommelier and the young french man ,all 3 of them a credit to this fine establishment. If you haven’t before you must go to Simpson’s I’m sure you will be hooked just as we are, you can try the other Michelin restaurants in Birmingham however Simpson’s is the bench mark in Birmingham.
Fabulous good, atmosphere and service. A real treat!
