Lovely food in fact I would say that is the best burger I have had in a long time! Great service and I look forward to a return visit soon.
Excellent as ever
Disappointed to see 2 customers wandering around without face mask, one was actually posing for pictures ! Apart from this, everything else was excellent.
Friendly and attentive staff. They are following all government guidelines.
Had a lovely afternoon tea here. The food was incredible, with plenty provided! They even let us take the leftovers home! And we were very grateful! Great service - the waiter was so polite and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Consistently first class
We had a lovely day for my mums birthday. I had mentioned the occasion on the booking form and my mum was wished Happy Birthday on arrival. I also mentioned in advance that she didn’t like butter or anything “fancy” on her sandwiches. Everything was noted, there was no fuss and everything was perfect.
We were the only people in the dining room so it was great. Very peaceful and the staff were brilliant. There wasn’t a great selection of food which I understand is due to the situation right now. Food was a bit on the pricey side but was lovely! Thank you
This hotel was at the top of there game when it came to service, we couldn't fault a single thing about the stay, from arrival to check out, friendly and polite staff made you feel important to them, professional and helpful Rooms are a great size and appearance was outstanding, clean and tidy and well maintained during the circumstances
Consistent high standards
Staff are excellent. Gregor looked after us in his usual efficient way, yet friendly at the same time. An asset to the smooth running of the hotel.
Booked one of the junior suites. When we got in we found lots of things were cracked like the sink and lots of floor tiles in the bathroom. Blinds had holes in, carpet had iron burns and worst of all hairs in the shower. Got moved to a smaller room and there were iron burns all over the floor and long black hairs in the bathroom. Was too late to leave and had nowhere else to go but left first thing the next morning a day earlier than we were supposed too. Manager was very apologetic and refunded us our stay but was far from a 4* hotel experience.
We were given seats in the library with no-one else around so there was no atmosphere for us. It was a bit like being in solitary confinement or on the naughty step. We had long waits to see waiting staff, because they were concentrating on the main room of the restaurant, where we had expected to be ourselves. When the person in charge came round periodically he had a rather dismissive, patronising, and unwelcoming demeanour, which further spoiled our experience. The food was tasty, but used various tricks to limit the portion size, such as French fries in a tumbler, lemon posset desert in a small drinks glass (but still costing £7.95). Overall it was a disappointing and dispiriting afternoon and we won’t be returning any time soon.
Superb afternoon tea service, lovely selection of fresh sandwiches with varied fillings, and delicious fresh cakes and scones with cream and jam. Excellent service by staff and very well presented, fabulous!
Excellent dinner, great surroundings and fantastic food and service from staff. Great menu, lots of variety and food was excellent quality and good value for money
A great afternoon tea, which had been delayed since April. All safety precautions in place due to Covid but felt like a safe environment, staff were very attentive, no issues during our visit.
We came for afternoon tea. As always, the food was delicious and service was excellent . My mum is celiac so requires gluten free diet which sometimes means her choices for cakes etc is limited but at the Sherbrooke she was given her own little platter full of choice, including scones and chocolate brownie. The staff really cant do enough for you.
Setting, service and food all outstanding.
Staff are amazing, they always ensure that you are being looked after. Food was amazing and consistent
The best prawns I've ever had followed by disappointing mussels in watery garlic. One man doing everything. He did well but it was a tall order.
Great quality food, top class service and very relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent afternoon tea!
Food wasn't great for how much was paid. Burger was half raw half cooked and was very plain. The fish was nice but we ordered sausage and mash for the child and didnt come with any gravy or anything so was very dry. Service was a little slow and the place wasn't very busy but our waiter was lovely.
The staff are First Class friendly and attentive.
