About Shears Yard
An independent kitchen and bar in Leeds. A contemporary yet relaxed space to meet, socialise, dine & drink.
The food was exceptional which perfectly accompanied the fantastic service and atmosphere
Excellent service and food. Very enjoyable evening. Couldn't fault the service, it was exceptional. All the staff anticipated our requirements and were friendly but not intrusive.Just right. Thank you.
Dinner following our son's graduation was a perfect end to a great day. Truly top quality ingredients, preparation and imaginative combinations. Complementary glass of Prosecco was a nice touch..
I booked Shear's Yard for the bottomless brunch for my friend's hen do. The atmosphere was great, lovely staff and the food and drink were good value.
Had a great bottomless brunch. Food was delicious, setting was sunny and cool and the drinks various and free flowing!
Imaginative food with perfect presentation. Faultless service without being stuffy or overbearing ,calm relaxed atmosphere . Would defiantly recommend.
Went for Sunday Lunch - absolutely brilliant
really enjoyed it, perhaps music slightly louder but overall lovely
Enjoyable brunch experience
Very good service
Shears Yard is a culinary jewel. Everything they serve is delicious, beautiful, and perfectly prepared. The service is wonderful —everyone is so nice! Cocktails are great, and very creative. Your classic cocktail is there, too, and it will be the best that you’ve had. The bread they serve is A+. We come to Leeds every July; we discovered Shears Yard last year, and it was the best meal we had in Leeds. The location on The Calls is especially nice—walking off a few calories there after dinner is a great pleasure. When we returned this year, the bartender said, “Hello, you’re back—it’s been awhile.” We were so surprised, and pleased. We had two meals there this year; I had to go back to have the dish my husband had two nights before! We love it there, and you will, too.
This place is THE BEST place in Leeds to eat! Me and my partner came in after a long walk ready for a roast dinner, can’t recommend the beef tartare and pork glazed in hoi sin enough!! Followed by a beef roast.. best roast we’ve ever had! Will be back soon!
Very nice bar. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Food was nice the portion size was quite small. You have to wait until u have finished your drinks before getting another one so at times you are waiting. Overall a nice experience.
Great bottomless brunch - lovely food and service
We came as a group of seven to the bottomless brunch, the food was amazing and all staff really attentive in topping up our glasses. We had a fab time and would definitely recommend.
Thought bottomless brunch was super duper as always and good value - was noisy but fun and nice, food excellent. 90 mins just right. Separate drinks menu a little pricey but, nice place.
A great meal
I don’t know where to begin! I had a lovely evening there with a friend, celebrating her birthday. I’m pregnant and wrote that as a comment when I booked. When we arrived we were greeted by very accommodating employer that walked us to our table where everything was set up for us, even a second menu for me and I was talked through which dish they wouldn’t recommend for me as I was pregnant and which options I had instead. All very professional. Through out the meal the staff was professional and very cheerful and made sure we had everything we wanted. My friend had the drinks menu they offer to compliment every dish and loved it and thought the variety of drinks was refreshing as well, not just wine etc. The food was amazing! I liked the cod the least but as everything was so nice it doesn’t mean it wasn’t good it just wasn’t as good as the rest. It was a little more subtle in taste. The price was really good especially given the standard of both service and food. The history of the place was very interesting and I hope they manage to find some old pictures from when it was actually where sheep were sheared ☺️ Only fault I can find, if I have to be picky is that the bathroom smelled and the had dryer didn’t work. However, the toilets were quite high up which suits a pregnant woman very well!! 😅 Will be recommending this place to anyone looking for a nice place to eat!
Fantastic all round!! Food, wine, and serevive exceptional!! Couldn’t re immense highly enough! Thank you 🙏🏻
Our visit was absolutely fantastic - the tasting menu was excellent and the wine pairings were imaginative and well thought through. We still can’t believe what good value it was! The service was brilliant too.
A really delicious imaginative tasting menu.
Brilliant as always
Nice food and atmosphere
The restaurant was unusually quiet for a Saturday night. Only 4-5 tables in at 7.30 so a little lacking in atmosphere.
Jessica was absolutely amazing such a fun and beautiful atmosphere the food was amazing and I couldn’t recommend this place anymore !!!
