About Fhior Garden Café
The Fhior Garden Cafe is set in the beautiful glass house within the Secret Herb Garden. Serving a simple but, seasonally focused menu utilising produce directly from the Fhior Kitchen Garden and from local, trusted suppliers.
Disappointed as website and Facebook page misled us to believe there was breakfast / brunch, as well as being dog friendly. We drove 30 minutes there for it but discovered dogs weren’t allowed in the cafe, and they were only serving cheese scones for breakfast. Don’t think we would have come out if we’d known that. I would suggest updating website and social media to reflect this. Aside from that, all good.
Excellent food and lovely surroundings. Staff very pleasant too. Will definitely recommend and we’ll be back too
Enjoyed my recent lunch. Seemed rather a vegetarian based menu compared to last year. Found glass house rather cold and wondered why the heaters didn’t seem to be switched on. Will return to try soup and cheese scone
very nice sitting in the cafe surrounded by very green plants and herbs. Calming and soothing. My smoked trout foccaccia sandwich was delicious. thank you!
Tasty food and very nice staff. We had a very enjoyable visit- had a relaxing wander round the gardens and bought some great plants.
We had a lovely lunch at Fhior Garden Cafe. It was our first time eating out for a very long time and the experience was very reassuring and welcoming. Thanks very much to your whole team. Regards, Joanne
Lovely setting, great cakes and friendly staff in a safe and comfortable environment. Always to be recommended. Then a visit to the gardens and purchase of plants and other nice things.
Nice coffee and delicious cake in lovely setting
I enjoyed our meal and the food was delicious. On the expensive side but appreciated the local and seasonal elements. Bit disappointed that all but 2 cakes had sold out by 2pm but I guess difficult to judge demand. Point for improvement would be the high chair (a pink one) - it was absolutely revolting and needs either a deep clean or to be replaced with an easier clean version.
excellent all round. Would highly recommend
Food and setting is fantastic and we will certainly be back. One improvement though would be to serve tea in a teapot and offer to top up with hot water, rather than a teabag in a cup.
Lovely visit, especially enjoyed the lavender mint tea, such a nice environment to meet friends.
Although not an extensive menu the ingredients are so fresh and tasty. Love the sourdough too. Might be nice if they had teapots.
Lovely setting and the staff very friendly and attentive. I only had a coffee this visit but on other visits the food has been wonderful.
The airy greenhouse is a great location and just ideal for these times. The staff were very welcoming and the food and drink very enjoyable.
The potato and lovage soup was wonderfully smooth and delicious. Best carrot cake I’ve ever had.
Tasty food and friendly service, a winning combination.
The cakes were excellent - especially the chocolate and carrot ones - portions were also generous but, even so, the price was a bit steep per slice. (£30.90 for 'elevenses' for 4, means it will need to be a very occasional treat rather than regular pop in, even though we are quite local) The Americano coffee was very weak (and also tepid when it arrived ) The Cappuccino was also tepid. However both were quickly and cheerfully replaced. On the whole I am likely to return and maybe try lunch.
Took friends there for their first time. Very disappointed with all aspects. It was cold and wet and we had to ask for heaters to be put on. We got the feeling this was done reluctantly. Disappointed with menu choices. Service very disjointed. Four soups were ordered along with sandwiches. One soup arrived along with two sandwiches and we had to point out we awaited another 3 soups. Three different coffees were ordered along with a hot chocolate. It was requested the latter be extra hot but this did not happen. One coffee was placed on the table and the member of staff had no idea if it was the latte, flat white or capaccino (apologies for spelling!) Unfortunately my review cannot be accepted without me giving scores. Reluctantly I have had to give 1 for each when I would prefer 0
The food and service were great. It was really really cold. The heaters should have been on.
Lovely setting. Emailed before to ask if dogs welcome and told they were but when we got there we were told that they weren’t. It was too hot to leave her in the car and also she is so part of our family. We were allowed to sit at another table but took another 10 minutes. Service very slow and staff didn’t know what cakes they had and what was left. We still really enjoyed ourselves though and the setting is fun.
We would have loved small plates instead of a “kids bag” option. The main menu food was delicious and our daughter loved it, a small soup option or small special would have been great! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal though, thank you.
Service was a bit slow... We weren't even given a menu initially, and when we ordered 2 coffees to have with our cake we were starting to think we'd been forgotten. I was surprised the cheese scones were sold out by lunchtime, so we were a bit disappointed but we did enjoy our lunch when we got it. Very nice cakes, and the soup was lovely. Young waiter was very nice and friendly.
Really delicious cafe menu. Great service, family friendly but with a lovely calm atmosphere, and lovely gardens to stroll in. Definitely recommended.
Overall a lovely first visit post 2nd lockdown. Wonderful to be back. Very spacious & safe. Service a little slow but that’s fine in the circumstances, Will be back 🌞
