About Sea Spice
Sea Spice is a unique amalgamation of exotic Indian cooking within the quintessentially British coastal setting of Aldeburgh. Taking lead from the ancient Spice Route and Aldeburgh's historic role as a valued Tudor port, this new gourmet restaurant unites local Suffolk produce with classic Indian flavours originating some 4,000 miles away. Honouring the breadth and complexities of Indian cooking, Sea Spice offers guests an array of regional dishes from Goan inspired seafood dishes, to tandoor-grilled meats and traditional fragrant curries.
A lovely location and a great ambience. However, do feel that this is suited more to the 'Londoners' visiting the area. Food good but didnt feel it was value for money compared with another really good Indian that we visit locally.
A great evening with splendid food.
Really good food and service
The restaurant was cold and lacked any atmosphere. Two guests got uo and walked out having waited too long for service. Two or three other couples complained. As an experienced former restauranter, it was obvious the service lacked cohesion and direction. The food was only average and my signature dish was just a nice lamb shank with a masala poured over it. Just poor.
The service was incredibly slow on Saturday evening, the Manager and staff were disorganised and it was impossible to get eye contact from any of them. Disappointing
Food was so tasty and plenty of it for sure. Atmosphere was a little cold and harsh - but offered seclusion and intimacy to those that wanted it. Very friendly and knowledgable staff, a bit pricey, but that is Aldeburgh for you! Worth the wait !
Excellent food polite service
Service struggled as restaurant got busy with v few staff. Food was excellent.
The best indian food I've had. Really light, non greasy, tastey and attentive service Definitely recommend and we will be back
First time, very much enjoyed unusual choices on the menu. Nice location, good friendly service.. Will definitely return
We always make sure that we visit Sea Spice during our annul visit to Aldeburgh. The food is superb and the staff are always polite, friendly and helpful, even when it is busy. We also appreciate that we can sit back, relax and enjoy our meal without being rushed.
Excellent service and food. Was recommended by friends and I was not disappointed.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, as always. Highly recommend, great food, great service, beautiful room. Thank you!
our second time in your restaurant , the service and food were excellent we will be back.thank you.
Lovely meal but forgot to ask us if we wanted dessert!
Food was great, poor service.
Food generally disappointing. Starters lacked flavour and lamb bhuna was more sauce than meat.
Great food grumpy staff
We love the food at Sea Spice and so look forward to eating there whenever we visit Aldeburgh. We would like to have a little more time before courses though, it does feel rushed.
After lot of recommendation we finally did this with lots of expectation. Getting Booking - Online booking was good but when we tried change time it messaged notables available, surprise when we reached it was only us and another family so then why did not allowed change of time by 30 mins😲 Welcome - were told cannot see appt but then finally they found it. 🙄 Drinks - We opted for Lassi, Mango and strawberry and it was so thin watery and pathetic.😞 Food - very good and authentic taste as home India food mixed vegetables and dal was great. Chicken tikka was bad lamb was great. Overall good experience but could be better.
As always another lovely meal- full of flavour, a real taste sensation . The whole party enjoyed their meal.
We had a lovely meal, but sadly dealt neglected, we was never asked if we wanted deserts☹️
Beautifully cooked & tasted Devine
We had a lovely meal. The waiters were attentive and very pleasant. But there was a problem with our order. We ordered 2 pilau rice and 3 arrived. We ordered Goan fish and it didn’t arrive. After speaking to the waiter, it still didn’t arrive. We ate the rest of the meal but the fish didn’t come. I went to speak to the head waiter and I found him rather aggressive. I said that we were still waiting for the fish and had just about finished our meal. He said it was coming. He was very defensive. The fish finally arrived at a point wh3n we had just about ended the meal. It was extremely hot and had obviously just been cooked. In recompense we were given a free dink at the end of the evening. We had a good meal and it was a shame that the staff did not acknowledge that there had been an error and keep us informed. Staff need training. They need to use their eyes to check that customers are happy and do not need attention. They also need to read orders back to check that customers will get what they want. The food is excellent. I live in Aldeburgh and enjoy Sea Spice. I hope these issues will improve and wish you succes. Caralyn Anderson
We had probably one of the best Indian meals ever here at Sea Spice! My only complaint is that they are far too far away from Manchester!! Highly recommend them.
