About Seafood & Grill
Dining at the Seafood & Grill restaurant in Aldeburgh in Suffolk is relaxed, informal and provides a wonderful setting for a variety of occasions. Enjoy panoramic sea views from every table and a décor that is inspired by the vibrant colours found on the Suffolk coast throughout the year. There is also a stunning terrace for outdoor dining, al fresco!
The menu features the freshest local fish, seafood and free-range meats delivered to our door each morning, all lovingly prepared by our passionate head chef, Darran Hazelton
Very Pleased with our recent stay
I think the seafood platter we had could have been much better. Smoked salmon was very salty and the prawns were smoked which took away the prawn flavour and just tasted of smoked fish. The fish and chips were good as were the oysters. The pasta dish was bland. Nice drinks, good service and a great location
Disappointing lack of the little things that make a dining experience special. No appetiser, nothing with the coffee, nobody to say goodbye and thank you when we left. Not what you expect from a 4-star establishment.
One night stay was enjoyable throughout, including dinner in the restaurant, until breakfast. The smoked haddock was badly off and stank. Both the waitress and (we think) the duty manager at reception on check out acknowledged the feedback politely, but we got the impression that nothing was done and no action was taken. A real shame on a place that prides itself on fish. Wouldn't go back.
The food was generally very good with the exception of desserts which were stodgy and heavy. Definitely in need of a good pastry chef.
Wonderful lamb shank. Friendly staff. Breakfast bit slow with requests like milk for tea etc. Lovely to hear sound of waves in our room. Paid £180 for Dinner B&B yet on internet £160. They said offer had been on since Jan but i had rang asking for best price 3 weeks before and they said £180. Wont go back to stay ...... but may pop in for a lamb shank!!
Excellant service all round hotel room was very special .food and staff could not be any better.very special place to stay .
Lovely views but took 1hr 20 Mins for the mains- and caused some tension within the party. Not sure we would book again as with children not practical to wait this long. Staff lovely- kitchen need to sort their act out
Wonderful friendly helpful staff even the ladies who cleaned the rooms lovely and happy made such a difference to our stay excellent everyone made u welcome defo stay again
We had a decent meal in pleasant surroundings, served by friendly staff. We really enjoyed the main course and puds, but were a little disappointed by the starters. We had the razor clams and also the taramasalata. Both were a little bit on the style over substance scale for our tastes, with the clams very small and somewhat lost in the dish which was a shame. The taramasalata although tasty, was very runny and quite difficult to eat. However all in all it was a decent meal and enjoyable evening. Thank you to all concerned at the Brudenell.
Had a lovely meal staff were very polite and friendly
Excellent starters and dessert, mains good but not memorable.
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and found it a very good experience with a good choice of food especially the fish dishes which were excellent. a good atmosphere and friendly staff too.
We stayed two nights with Dinner included The food was excellent but on the first night I had the fish of the day Dover sole which had no price marked upon the menu or in the ad in the lift and was charged an eye watering £38 for the fish alone. We later complained about this and were given a fair reduction. Food was very good and the hotel superb.
Staff and dining area is lovely , however very disappointed with the smoked platter sharing starter, bread very hard, prawns chewy and what I guess was smoked salmon, large slices - odd and no taramasalata, garlic dip was ferocious and marred he taste of everything. Main was very nice and the wine was extremely good. Would I come again - hmmm need to think about that one.
Great food, lovely staff and beautiful location - thank you for having us
We had two meals on consecutive evenings, the first was disappointing and poor value. The second was very enjoyable. The wines were disappointing. The service was good but it seemed to be the little things that they got wrong.
Excellent food & friendly, efficient service
The food is very good, portion sizes are right and the hotel staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The whole hotel generates an efficient, welcoming and informal atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back!
staff were very helpful and there was a good range of choices especially lovely fish dishes
Service a little slow at times.
Always a good experience thanks to the staff for the extra touches on Saturday
Waitress was very good. Hope dogs won’t be allowed in restaurant as they are in the hotel and bar.
Excellent atmosphere, wonderful location, top-rate food!
The staff are excellent. We do not eat meat or fish. Darran, the chef, is being very kind to us.
