Enjoy panoramic sea views from every table and a décor that is inspired by the vibrant colours found on the Suffolk coast throughout the year. There is also a stunning terrace for outdoor dining, al fresco!
The menu features the freshest local fish, seafood and free-range meats delivered to our door each morning, all lovingly prepared by our passionate head chef, Darran Hazelton
Absolutely lovely. Very welcoming in these strange times 😊
Great choice of both food and drink, the service was excellent as were all the courses in our meal. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.
Excellent food great service pleasant staff nothing too much trouble looking forward to seeing you after lockdown
A good evening out
Delicious fresh sea food, beautifully presented and served by courteous and professional staff
Lovely place, great atmosphere, lovely staff.
We had a really nice stay. The food, service, setting and overall experience at the hotel was lovely, we could not fault it and we will be back. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
Fabulous food excellent staff especially our waitress Latoya! Only build is I’d make the restaurant a little warmer with soft furnishings and lighting etc. There is very little ambience but that would not put us off coming again as the food is fantastic
The lower seaside lights bit too bright for my liking and did not allow for a more relaxed dining experience compared to the upper section which seemed more cosy for dinner. We asked what the catch of the day was and we were told twice that there was none. Having booked for 20:15 we thought we were too late so did not challenge it further. We later found out that Chef Darran still had 4 beautiful plaice... three would have been sold there and then... Other than it may be worth reminding the restaurant manager that Saumur red wines are served chilled, the food was excellent and we enjoyed our visit.
As pleasant experience as possible due to Covid. Felt safe and Covid secure. Service was excellent and food was very good. We enjoyed our wedding anniversary lunch despite the horrible stormy weather.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and had dinner in the restaurant Friday, starters were delicious, my partner ordered the sirloin steak which was very grisly and on reflection should have sent back, I had the cod which was lovely, service was ok had to ask where our dinner was after a wait of half hour, but had cheese and biscuits free for the inconvenience, twice asked for another plate to share the cheese but gave up, overall a nice evening!
I had bigger expections about food based on the website information. I had Gluten-free option of dressed crab, which was the simplified version of the traditional menu, cold crab with warm potatoes for the same price as hot version with a sauce. Gluten-free option can be made tasty as well and it's not so difficult. And if that's simplified version than the price should be different as well. Thank you.
Menu , needs to be modernised.
Very nice and all guidelines were followed
Great location ! Lovely food, friendly staff and good value for money!!!
Unfortunately uninspiring food - bog standard chips, devilled whitebait where paprika had been sprinkled on so they had a powdery feel in the mouth, lack of seasoning, tartar sauce with no acidity and an odd pudding selection.
Myself and my grandparents attended the night before my grandfather's 93rd birthday. Beautiful food, great atmosphere. Grandparents absolutely loved it. Many thanks for looking after us so well. James.
We have had 4 excellent meals and friendly and attentive service
Food and service excellent. Atmosphere a little sterile and lighting a little harsh for an evening
Had a lovely day in Alburgh capped off with a really nice meal ...shall definately be returning....the food was above expectations and your staff where other friendly and most efficient...
Really terrible dining experience. The service was abrupt and bizarre. When we arrived and were being seated the server said he was going to find out the specials and then came back to our table to tell us what one was. And then he left to find out what another special was and told us that. And then he left again to find out the third dish and returned to tell us about that. It was an odd way of doing so and immediately put us on edge as we were settling into our dining experience. Our water was brought out and the woman serving us drinks was equally abrasive. My baby girl had bumped her head on our way in and whilst my husband was on the phone to 111, your receptionist was following him (as he was disclosing medical information about us and our child - which you would hope you could do privately!!!) waving an incident report for him to complete. Again, I repeat, WHILST HE WAS ON THE PHONE TO 111. Appalling. I’ve never seen anything like it. I didn’t get to eat my meal but my husband said his fish and chips was disappointing. As we were leaving another waitress asked if we were going to get my daughter checked out for her bump, which we were en route to do, and was really patronising in tone. She did not express concern and instead was really condescending and nosey. Shame. Will not return. The service really let you down.
Food was great, the venison was perfect and we started either taps which were also very good. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. Recommend thoroughly.
Thank you it was great - and made a special occasion even more special!
