About Seafood & Grill
Dining at the Seafood & Grill restaurant in Aldeburgh in Suffolk is relaxed, informal and provides a wonderful setting for a variety of occasions. Enjoy panoramic sea views from every table and a décor that is inspired by the vibrant colours found on the Suffolk coast throughout the year. There is also a stunning terrace for outdoor dining, al fresco!
The menu features the freshest local fish, seafood and free-range meats delivered to our door each morning, all lovingly prepared by our passionate head chef, Darran Hazelton
Covid 19 sadly affected the atmosphere here. But despite this the staff were accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious. I had the seared hake with a curried sauce which was so good I had to ask for bread to mop up the leftovers. Caramel white chocolate cheesecake and pistachio topping was also yummy.
Another excellent experience
As usual excellent friendly service, helpful attentive staff throughout . Keeps us coming back! See you February?maybe!?
Loveky friendly staff, very helpful & delicious fish.
The Folk are exemplary. The Food delicious fresh and well-presented. In these challenging times everyone is extra-ordinary.
Very pleasing and Covid safe
My partner and I had been recommended to The Brudenell as being quite special. However, we found the meal very average and somewhat disappointing. The staff were helpful, polite and courteous albeit we felt a bit rushed. Would we recommend it.....unfortunately not.
I can't recall any background music. A bit of light piano or jazz could lift the mood but not too loud as to kill conversation. My crab starter didn't wow me but was pleasant. The crab main was very tasty and so too was the totally and utterly fantastic Xmas pud and brandy custard. My compliments to the chef overall I really enjoyed the meal and will keep coming back.
Service was excellent especially your maitre d. My skate was excellent as was my daughter’s steak
It’s always a pleasure to dine here. The food is always excellent, be it breakfast, tapas or a la carte. Freshly cooked high quality ingredients. The staff and chefs are only too willing do all they can to make your experience as good as it can be.
Service in restaurant was much below expectations, having visited several times before, when it was excellent. The waitress at lunch failed to offer to ask if we wanted more drinks, though my glass was empty for half of the meal. We then sat in the lounge for about 40 minutes waiting for our room to be made available, and the same waitress never came near to ask if we wanted drinks, though she was in and out all the time. Breakfast service was poor as the waitress failed to listen to what my husband wanted and presented hard eggs when he asked for runny. His breakfast was redone, but we ended up with one fork between us as she failed to replace his cutlery! She forgot the toast and we eventually ended up with 2 lots. I asked for a yoghurt starter with fruit compot and was told by the waitress that the staff did not have the fruit compot I had asked for, as if I'd made a special request, which I hadn't, as it was on the menu. Why couldn't she just apologise and then I could select something else, but it was made to seem my fault, which is unacceptable. Worse still, my husband then began to choke very badly on his starter and I had to thump his back for several minutes till he recovered, but he was in a bad way. No one came to offer help, or even offer a glass of water. This is appalling! My husband has had a stroke and is sometimes subject to severe choking fits, depending on the food, and is careful of what he eats. He was in a dreadful state and not one of the staff in the restaurant offered assistance, though a waiter was setting tables a few yards away.
The Sunday Lunch was fantastic, well beyond our expectations. Just wish I lived nearer as I would be there every Sunday.
More vegetarian options would be lovely
I thought Evelena (I think that’s her name!) was a brilliant waitress but everyone was really nice and incredibly professional. The food was delicious, we really love eating there
We loved it and always return as often as we can. A real treat, always friendly and warm people
Made us realise what we had been missing during the last 10 months. Thank you so much!
Excellent with a fabulous setting overlooking the beach
First class and very well organised in these virus times
The staff managed so well considering the limitations in place. They were incredibly helpful and lots of smiles The food was yummy especially the crab thermidor Anne and Mike
I had the turkey dinner - the meat looked & tasted like a turkey roll from Bernard Matthews. All in all tasteless & very disappointing. Also the cranberry sauce was the weirdest I have ever had. With current menu would not, sadly, return. We went to the Lighthouse instead on Saturday.
Food could not be faulted. And staff really nice but just not attentive enough. Had to keep calling waiter all the time for what we needed
Lovely atmosphere overlooking the sea and yummy food and attentive staff
This is one of our favourite restaurants and never disappoints. The service was a little slow at the end of the meal yesterday and the bill had to be recalculated to take account of a prepaid voucher but that did not detract from the overall enjoyment.
Really enjoyed our time both for breakfast and dinner - great sea view - looking forward to coming back in February.
