About Scotts Kitchen
Opened in August 2017, Scotts Kitchen is the latest addition to the Howies Restaurant family. Like our sister restaurants, we like to work with quality, local suppliers on our menus.
We're open from 9am to ease you into the day with an abundance of fresh baking and mouth-watering dishes. Go light with Scottish porridge oats with runny honey and almonds or go bold with the Scotts big breakfast packed with haggis, black pudding, bacon, lorne sausage, eggs poached, scotts homemade beans, roasted cherry tomato and au gourmand sourdough toast.
Our locally sourced menus are also available for lunch and dinner and feature simple, honest cooking including the Scotts burger and the ultimate chocolate sundae!
For those of you with a sweet tooth, you simply must try our home baking which is lovingly made on site each morning. Our carrot cake receives rave reviews!
If it's drinks you're after, our expertly selected wines, craft beers & cocktails along with our specially selected artisan tea & coffees are sure to quench your thirst.
We had an amazing breakfast at Scotts Kitchen. We hope to be back again soon!
It was really great. I went there with my whole class and two teachers and we had a blast! The reservation was easy, the food and the service was great! We hope to be able to come there again.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Scott’s Kitchen and the food was superb. Our waitress was very patient, helpful and so friendly. I will definitely be back. Thank you.
Excellent food and service would recommend and will certainly return !
We stayed in Edinburgh for a few days to celebrate my 60th birthday, we ate with you the night we arrived and everything was perfect so came back for lunch on Tuesday (which was my birthday) with friends who have relocated to this area. Although very busy both times everything was perfect.
First time visit and it won’t be the last...excellent lunch...great service and good fresh food..thank you
I came to celebrate my birthday with my family, atmosphere and setting was fab, food was amazing and service was great, have booked a table for this weekend. Loved it 💖
Arrived at 7:30, last orders in the kitchen was 8pm. Felt rushed. Meeting friends for a catchup and we were out the restaurant by around 9:15. Staff were washing the floors around us! Menu limited, thought it was going to be similar to Howies considering it is the 'sister' restaurant - which I frequent all the time and love it. Food offer - day into night - 2 or 3 course for a set price then in small print available up until 3pm?? Not really a venue for dinner...maybe coffee/cake or light lunch. Drinks expensive, food mediocre - wont be rushing back - sorry, will stick with Howies
Neat casual place. Food was tasty, service was good.
Beautiful food, beautiful location and beautiful service.
You made our Wedding Celebration PERFECT for us and our guests. Thank you.
We normally go to Howies downstairs. Liked the light airy look of Scott’s and it was quieter. Howies has a larger choice of mains but still good quality food at a great price.
The view and atmosphere were awesome. However, food was not worth the money. We (three people) all ordered Full Scottish Breakfast. The toast was too hard; poached eggs were actually hard-boiled eggs. We waited for our food for half an hour, and what we received was just like microwaved dishes. The food did not seem to be freshly made. It was such a disappointment.
Lovely place god a leisurely lunch, thanks x
Lovely little place, especially on the terrace if you’re lucky enough to get some sunshine. Yummy food and friendly staff. Definitely recommend 👍🏼
Excellent Breakfast outside in the sunshine
Great atmosphere. Excellent quality food. Stunning location.
Scotts Kitchen offers a good, value for money set-price menu in simple, no-fuss and very pleasant surroundings. It is well situated in a central, old-town location and is easily accessible by public transport.
Great addition to old town Edinburgh eating places
Lovely bright airy relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for coffee or casual lunch.
LOvely lunch and excellent staff
Loved the restaurant, will definitely be back again.
