About Scorrybreac Restaurant
Scorrybreac restaurant is set in a beautiful location, above the harbour in Portree, Isle of Skye. Chef Calum Munro aims to seek the finest local, seasonal produce, delivering modern Scottish cuisine.
Skye's fascinating, rugged landscape supplies the restaurant with a variety of irresistible products, including local wild venison, freshly caught seafood from local fishermen and locally foraged plants and shoreline sea vegetables, to name just a few of the highlights.
The name 'scorrybreac' translates as 'speckled rock', perfectly depicting the dark, stoney cliffs just along the bay from the restaurant.
Simple. Elegant. Cosy. Intimate.
We would love to welcome you to enjoy an evening with us. We have an interesting and varied selection of wines, supplied by Edinburgh-based La'art du vin. And if you fancy something a little stronger, we have an ever increasing selection of Scottish single malt whiskies and gins.
We had a fantastic meal and the wines we chose were great as well. The service is efficient but pleasant and all dishes were explained well. The food was outstanding and if we venture back that way we will most definitely rebook. A great experience, thank you. Ian and Mary
Superb food, some of the best I've eaten. Everything cooked to perfection, particularly the deer.
Wonderful food and top notch service. Waiter helped us with our access needs to ensure that we got the same service as any customer even though a party member was deaf.
Very happy with the meal - delicious, good range of dishes, well presented. Glad to have gotten in before closing and with limitations due to covid. Would go again.
Exceptional meal. Service excellent. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
Fantastic food, great service, lovely evening, we will be back as soon as possible.
We visited this restaurant as a family and thought it was excellent all round, and would certainly visit again. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and delightfully served.
We absolutely loved the Scorrybreac Restaurant. Such a lovely little place which made the atmosphere really nice and relaxed. The service was brilliant too. And the food was beyond incredible! The deer was the best meat we've had in a while. Definitely returning when we get back to Portree!
A great value tasting menu which made use of locally sourced ingredients. Cooking of the highest order which did justice to the wonderful ingredients used.
An excellent meal - delicious food and great service. I can’t recommend enough!
Fantastic meal - great location!
Overall, the food did not stand out. The best item was the canapé lamb crepe (wonderfully soft texture and meaty). Regarding other menu items: the biscuit was far too crunchy to pair with the tender beetroots, and the caramel sweet-bitterness simply overpowered the subtle beetroot flavours. While the mushroom soup swam with creaminess, the small crunchy yeast was an annoying addition. The main lemon dessert was utterly bizarre and not in a good way: the flavour was consumed with gaminess as if it had been marinated with the deer beforehand; this was completely unpalatable. Other dishes were average. The selection of drinks was excellent, especially the house peppercorn tonic. The ambiance was nice and cosy: it felt local yet high-end without the arrogance. The service was great: the front of house chap was warm and attentive, providing tidbits about the source of produce. Overall, more consideration on the texture pairings and attention to flavours could benefit future creations. It felt as if foam and small crunchy bits is a theme running throughout the menu. GBP 60 per set menu feels right for the atmosphere, service, and number of dishes, but the lack of punch in the flavours and textures leaves the overall price feeling expensive.
Fantastic taster menu with every couse bursting with flavour. Highly recommended
Superb taster menu
The food was all sourced locally and prepared to perfection. Fantastic variety of dishes and tastes. Service was prompt and provided informative and useful information into the ingredients and how the chef had prepared the dish. The red deer was perfectly cooked. This was a welcome distraction from the current environment and restrictions we are living in. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and would recommend without question, and will be back when we visit Skye next time round.
Totally delicious and amazing lunch. Up there with any 5 star plus meal anywhere. Little quiet due to covid spacing (and no alcohol) and could have had the fire on, but wonderful service and truly divine food. Exceptional. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food and service. Clear that there is passion and care taken to ensure the food showcases locally sourced produce at its best.
Excellent food, lovely waiter and considering the coronavirus restrictions a lovely atmosphere
Absolutely fantastic food and the best hospitality ! Food was superb , so many local dishes and ingredients . The tasting menu was just delicious. We will be recommending to all our friends. Thanks for having us during the circuit breaker ! Lynn & Dermit
It was a beautifully presented flavour extravaganza. With the added bonus of friendly down to earth service and locally sourced food. What’s not to love
Amazing from moment walked in til we left
Great, imaginative food and wine in a relaxed intimate setting. Highly recommended.
This was a special meal for our silver wedding anniversary and we cannot thank you enough for how well we were looked after. The tasting menu was fabulous and exceptionally well presented. Our visit to your restaurant has left us with lasting memories which is exactly what we hoped for on such a special occasion. Thank you.
The food was really delicious but the service was very scripted and we didnt feel relaxed. We heard everything repeated word for word to the other tables. We would come back though as our lunch was top quality.
We had an excellent meal. Service was really good. We will recommend Scorrybreac to all our friends and family.
