About Scene Indian Street Kitchen
An Indian Street Kitchen in the heart of Spinningfields Manchester, serving authentic indian street food as well as traditional dishes.
Thank you for having me on Tuesday. I was however disappointed with the quality of food and the lack of service. It was explained that staff members were off, but as a customer that still plays a part in how a place is rated. The grill platter was dry, and the rice was a little hard. I think that ofor you know that you are going to be short staffed then, agency workers should be employed. Your location is not the curry mile, it is spinning field and a better service and quality of food is expected, as I could have bought a cheaper meal for better quality. I spent £54 for twork people as it was my partner birthday and he did not like the food. We took the food home as a takeaway and he will not touch it. Thank you
Had a lovely meal in nice surroundings with attentive staff
Great food yet again, and that's why we keep on coming back.
Excellent Experience, We were a large group and I could not fault anything. The food was delicious and the service was very welcoming and friendly - Thank You
Overall it was great. The prices is steep compare to other places around manchester. The service was fab
So impressed with everything. Love the deco of the resturant, your food was amazing and the portion sizes are huge! Yet so responably priced. We took dessert as a takeaway because we were so full. Will be coming back very soon.
Fantastic food and service, well priced and portions good. Lovely atmosphere
Great service and food was excellent on the whole! Only slight improvement would be making the Chicken 65 a bit more moist / juicy. Many thanks :-)
Same spice running through all the dishes
We arrived at 10 pm and felt like the staff did not want us to sit down and eat. Awful atmosphere.
Great food, easily the best Indian restaurant in Manchester right now! Take that from an avid Indian food lover who’s tried them all! Service was slow would be my only gripe but very friendly and accommodating staff!
Fantastic service A+++++
Service was appalling, my party of 7 was outside, we asked if we could go in a booth and was told it was reserved. The whole time we were there nobody sat on those tables, which was very annoying- we were there for over two hours. They took ages to take our order, they did not check on us to see if everything was ok. We asked for yogurt twice and it did not come. Food was ok, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The place is run by children!
Great food and atmosphere!
The food is really nice, full of flavour.
Each time we take a new friend you win a new admirer.
I came here for my birthday meal and it was absolutely faultless! The food was delicious (the paneer butter masala is highly recommended!) and the service was second-to-none. They made space for us to sit outside, gave us a complimentary cocktail pitcher, brought out the cake my boyfriend had made me for dessert and packed up all of our leftovers in individual bags with no complaints. We paid with Manchester Confidential vouchers but I would happily come back again and pay full price.
Thank you for hosting us, the host was fabulous, I can't remember her name but she went above and beyond. she had black hair and was possibly European. We had a great feedback.
Terrible service. Long wait times. Cold food. The best waiter wasnt even a waiter he was the managers friend. Food that was hot was tasty though. Id go at a less busy time than a friday evening.
Great tasting curry. Good atmosphere and mix starter is to die for .
One of my favourites. Just wish you did a veg or fish biryani!
Great food fantastic atmosphere will go back
Great evening overall with great atmosphere and service and food was spot on to top the night.
We were seated at 20.10. It took 20 mins for someone to take our order and that was only after me having to signal a waiter to take it. Food came quick but it was very poor quality. We like spicy food but it was not balanced simply just chilli powder added. Our saag was bright red with minimal amounts of actual spinach. Food was left unfinished and waiting staff didn't notice to see if we enjoyed it. When the plates were being cleared the waiter dropped a spoon onto my friends close, staining it in the process and did not apologise or offer to get anything to clean the dress.
I have been to scene quite often with my wife as we think it is one of the best restaurants up north. But unfortunately my last visit was a big disappointment. The restaurant was busy as expected on a Saturday evening, I requested a booth on my booking but as the restaurant was busy this was possible which I don’t mind that’s fine. Then soon after a waitress arrived to take our order which was great shortly after we received our starters now this is supposed to be a sharing mixed grill which had 1 prawn 3 chicken tikka and 1 seekh kebab and nearly 7/8 chicken wings now how can me and my wife share 1 prawn or one seekh kebab, ignoring this sharing platter the starters did taste nice minus the chicken wings and whilst eating our starters we ordered some mint chutney and it seemed like the waiter who I requested this to had difficulty in understanding English and never came back with any sauce. Then we were waiting for our mains for 1 hour 15 minuets and then I called a different waiter which was really difficult to grab hold of one as they seemed under staffed and everyone was running around like headless chickens, I asked the waiter where is our food after 15 minuets of that reminder the food arrived lamb karahi and chicken both dishes were not hot we ordered these with naan luckily enough the nans were hot enough for us to disregard the face the curry’s were not warm enough. After this we did want dessert but due to the service and food we decided we had enough this was a first anniversary meal really disappointed as this is not the usual scene standards.
