About Sapporo Manchester
Sapporo Manchester restaurant is located on Liverpool Road, Castlefield, Manchester. Sapporo Teppanyaki is a Japanese restaurant, that delivers more than a delicious meal. We provide a dining experience which is ideal for large parties, couples and families. Come and enjoy our two course Express Lunch menu from £9 or our three course Early Diner menu for £14.95.
If it is a more relaxed experience you are looking for you can enjoy lunch in our bar area where you can access the whole menu without the excitement and entertainment of our traditional Teppanyaki grill.
Our Teppanyaki Chefs will entertain you as they prepare your meal. They’ve got plenty of tricks up their sleeves! They will demonstrate their sublime knife skills, slice food in half in midair and dazzle you as they juggle and amaze! Their performances are truly entertaining and it is fun that everyone will enjoy.
Japanese cuisine is notoriously healthy. We use the freshest ingredients to ensure our food is as healthy and delicious as possible. We have a huge variety of dishes. We have dishes containing duck, beef, chicken, fish, pork and vegetables, so we have something for everyone.
We don’t just have a wide variety of amazing food, we also have plenty of drinks to choose from too. We have Sake, Japanese cocktails, beers and whiskeys, so you can have the complete Japanese experience! If that doesn’t take your fancy, then we have Western beverages - beer, wine, spirits, champagne and soft drinks. Our restaurant has got something to suit everyone, while offering something different, we’re in a great location too, in Manchester city centre.
Excellent mid week cheeky meal out was pleasantly surprised of the whole night in general, service atmosphere food quality and excellent cooking
We took 9 of our families and friends to celebrate our little girl's birthday on the Family Fun day. It was booked for 13:30 but we have not got the table until 14:15. Then we wanted to have the birthday cake brought out after meal. The staff brought it out early while we are still eating without notifying us or asking how any candles to put! Right after the cake came out, the staff asked us to move our table to the other end of the restaurant - at that point we are still eating and it was only 15:30! Isn't it suppose to be 2 hours slot FROM WHEN YOU GAVE US A TABLE?? We were so disappointed with the service and the chaos. It was definitely not worth Service charge. Although we love the food, we won't take any friends/ family for any special occasion again.
Food was great (quite a lot of salt and pepper used) and the chef ‘San the man’ was brilliant. Waiters and service was poor and the waiters were infact quite rude. Although quite expensive, you do get a lot of food for your money (definitely didn’t need a starter as well as main!).
Had a fab time
Paid deposit which was not deducted from bill til I asked!!! Makes me wonder if this happens often
The Chef San the Man was amazing and made us laugh and definitely filled us up. There is not a chance you could leave there hungry. What an amazing experience. We would definitely go back.
The food and service at Sapporo Manchester are good and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves and having a good time. However the Sapporo isn't an authentic Japanese restaurant. From my experience in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, Japanese restaurants are much subtler, the service is more personally attentive and the ambience is less boisterous and noisy.
A fantastic place for a group to go for some amazing food. Very entertaining. Quite pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
Our chef cooked the food amazing but really lacked the personality that I've experienced in the passed. All the surrounding tables were having fun and our chef were extremely quiet and didn't engage which the guests on the table.
Food was lovely. However, went for a 30th birthday (nothing mentioned).Sat at at the table and waited 45 minutes before we ate anything.Did not like it that the chef was working two hot plates so the personal touch was lost. Also did not like that he was cooking steak etc for the other party on the opposite side on our hot plate.Again, losing the personal touch. (look at what you could have ordered)On a good note.We all enjoyed the food.Resounably priced.Don't sit people at the table if the chef is not ready for nearly an hour as we were starving !!!!!!
Food was amazing! Cocktails weren’t the best would have like better quality prosecco. Very helpful and friendly staff. Enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend
First time at your venue..great night, great entertainment by the chefs, great food and very reasonably priced.. would thoroughly recommend to all fantastico!!!..
Fantastic food, experience, service, and atmosphere.
Everyone enjoyed the experience
Enjoyed a fantastic meal here, will definitely be returning
I came with my parents and they really enjoyed the food but even more the atmosphere!!!
Wonderful food, great entertainment and excellent service would highly recommend and we will be back.
Celebrated my birthday with family, great atmosphere and staff were really helpful. Large portions and happy to package leftovers. Entertainment was fab and food was amazing.
We were greeted hastily and not given any time to explain we had a voucher or that I required a gluten free menu. When they explained the gluten free options, it was a really rushed explanation & the waiter seemed unsure about what actually was safe for me to eat. This made me really nervous & I was worried that care would not be taken when the food was being prepared. It would be much easier if the menu was marked up. The food came quickly, but the waiters didn't take the time to tell us it was GF and so we had to wait to eat until another waiter came past. Again, the service was poor and I wasn't very reassured. The food was tasty and the fish fresh. However the food was overpriced and the compulsory service charge for VERY poor service is ridiculous. A slightly uncomfortable experience, overall!
been here a few times now and everytime I enjoyed it food is delicious, staff and chefs always friendly can,t wait to go back
This restaurant is always an amazing experience!
The actual food and experience was good but the service when we arrived was very disappointing. We booked in advance for a hen party and paid a deposit but when we arrived there wasn’t a table ready and no one knew about our booking. We were then shown to a table that wasn’t big enough for us all meaning traipsing all the way across the restaurant and all the way back to the bar. When we got our table I mentioned we’d preordered and were told starters would be ready on arrival (15 minutes ago). The order hadn’t even been sent through to the kitchen and it took another 15-20 minutes for them to arrive. All this meant we were well behind schedule and when I tried to speak to the man on the front desk about it he was dismissive and rude. I had to leave the restaurant 45 minutes before everyone else to make sure we didn’t lose our booth at the next place (which we’d paid for) because of the delays. The food was really good and our chef was lovely. We really enjoyed the theatrical side of dining here but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for groups, especially not on a special occasion.
